  1. Certainly, all the metal Kahrs seem to have had fewer probs reported than the polymer ones. - OS
  2. Well, you are probably going to be detained for questioning for a while. Maybe even overnight as a guest of the city or county. But you aren't "under" arrest until you've been charged with a crime. Can be rather important on various applications down the road ("have you ever been arrested or convicted..."). I didn't try to look it up, but is it 24 hours you can be "held" before being either charged or let go? Of course, even released, charges can always be filed later. They don't have to charge you within the 24 hours (or whatever it is). The above is my understanding of procedure, if wrong, one of you LEOs please correct. - OS
  3. It tucks about as well as most tuckable designs I'd say. I never had much luck tucking with anything...fortunately I don't have to - the few occasions I have to "dress" it's a Kahr in the pocket for me. Good luck concealing that XD Service even using IWB ... the gun butt will be the problem. I've had no luck trying with my XD Service 9, but I'm fairly particular about zero print. The XD subbie does very nicely, though. - OS
  4. Only that FedEx/UPS often refuse to ship it. - OS
  5. D.M. Bullard Dual Carry. I have 3 of them for different guns. Pic shows some clips I was experimenting with, but have since gone back to the normal metal ones that comes with it. Gun Leather, Concealment and Cowboy holsters, Azle, TX. - OS
  6. Yeah, the transfer bar thing. Kind of hard to believe they made them as long as they did without one. Heck I've got a Charter Arms snubbie made in the 60's that has that. I guess "cowboy" revolvers were considered differently or something. - OS
  7. Thanks, coach...I just wanna play, put me in. - Chief
  8. Thanks for the report... Now, if I can actually find one anywhere! - OS
  9. If there's 30 min between the info and your getting there, odds are it's gone. If you must have some, Gander Mountain has had .40 in stock every time I've been there, several different brands, including the UMC 250 packs. Was by there Friday, had a good bit. If you're willing to pay their prices. - OS
  10. Anywhere fine with moi. Norris AOK. - OS
  11. Well, I'd think I'd know if I was hurt or not. Even though I'm insured, going to the emergency room would cost me a grand or two. Money I'd need for attorney. THAT would hurt. - OS
  12. Most of the custom holster makers say to avoid Neatsfoot Oil like the plague, or anything else that will soften the leather. Most just recommend neutral paste wax, like Kiwi, or colored paste wax if you get significant looking scars... Leather can always be stretched, but it can't be very successfully shrunk. A couple of makers do recommend one or two very specialized products, but saddle soap is seldom recommended, and Neatsfoot never. - OS
  13. I have heard both Rush and Neal Boortz rant re the census. Both claim they will honestly tell the names of the full time occupants of their residence, and that's it. Period. AFAIK, there is no law requiring even this level of information from you, and if there is, certainly no more than this. - OS
  14. Y'all mean "Shooter" with Mark Wahlberg? Good flick, if so. Just watched "The Nest" again yesterday...THERE'S some firepower. How about "Equilibrium"? Just watched "No Country For Old Men" again tonight. No slouch when it comes to bullets a flying either. "Commando" is almost a cartoon Ahnie, but somehow I've watched it several times. Far as old west oriented, I really enjoyed "The Quick and the Dead". Many others...just top o' my bean... - OS
  15. Echo that. Garufa's still looks 'bout brand new...mine was stored poorly a couple of extended periods, but still shoots fine; my first gun: To not derail topic, from what I remember discussions on RimFireCentral, guessing $175 absolute tops for yours, but perfect collision between you and the perfectly timed frothing buyer I guess could get more, as is always the case with any shootin iron. - OS
  16. Oh yeah, they call it the "new" Blackhawk Convertible. Ruger New Model Blackhawk® Convertible Single Action Revolvers - OS
  17. Dunno exactly why, and probably can't find one anyway, but this Ruger Blackhawk Convertible .357/9mm single action has rather caught my fancy. Maybe a worthwhile TEOTWAWKI piece, giving two options for scrounged ammo (yeah, admittedly far fetched fantasy land). Does anybody own one, if so whatcha think? I already know from reading that the 9mm option is significantly less accurate, but the way I shoot, doubt I'd notice. - OS
  18. It's not specified in TCA, but $500 would suggest Class B Misdemeanor which would also have possibility of 6 months in stir. Like other misdemeanors, officer generally has discretion of arrest or summons ("ticket"). But agree with you, I do not know that for sure. I think it's indicative of how few people are ever charged with breaking ANY of the HCP carry statutes, or would be better known. - OS
  19. ??? Karl Foster just rolled over in his grave. - OS
  20. I've never had one in my hands, but I wouldn't think so. - OS
  21. It's "scopeable" too... "As an added feature, the receiver rib is now grooved for easy installation of a scope." - OS
  22. Most of the places I normally shop online seem to only have Kleen Bore chamber brushes .. but they are stainless steel. Seems that would be risky? - OS
  23. If that amendment is correct, it's absolutely absurd... Lets see, so me and another TGOer are going to a shoot. We each have HCP. We each have 3 long guns in the car. So HIS are legal to be loaded, but mine aren't, eh? How does a LEO know whose is whose? And etc... But I can carry my loaded handgun in ANYbody's car. Actually, I can have 10 loaded handguns in ANYbody's car. Just nuts... - OS
  24. The late great Lewis Grizzard. - OS
