  1.   Pretty clear now that all the 8 or 10 principals they know of are French and Belgian citizens, save for the one possible Syrian kid. The alleged "mastermind" is Belgian citizen which they've incredibly let slip through their fingers more than once. Makes sense, folks who do this sort of thing need intimate knowledge of the lay of the land and how things work in the area they want to hit, and who knows that better than long time residents.   This is whence most of this will fomenting now, from the sons and grandsons of Muslims who immigrated long ago, some of whom have traveled to be with ISIS for awhile, but most not, just home grown jihadists swept up in the propaganda.   Announced over the weekend that there are 900 active investigations afoot in the US regarding ISIS connected activities, spanning every state. We've had about 80 ISIS connected arrests.   So I stand by my statement, that while of course it's disconcerting that current Syrian folks are immigrating en masse, the main point is that where Islam exists, especially in Western countries, we're going to have a percentage of the younger descendants doing this sort of thing all over the world, regardless of where they or their parents and grandparents were originally from and no matter how pacifist their elders' religious interpretation.   I've long postulated that if these kind of groups really want to spread "terror", the best way to do it is just piecemeal, in small events here and there around the country. They don't need to really swing for the fences ala Twin Tower style, or even the 300 or so killed/wounded in Paris, just small hits in small towns will suffice. A school here, a church there, a bridge or two, whatever. When the average American actually has rational reason to worry that his small town might be next, his children might be next,  that really is terror.   If nothing else, think of the financial drain associated with just security regarding this on an ongoing basis.   - OS
  2.   Yeah, seems the "let him live just to really knock him off" scenario is what's gonna happen.   Sorta like two cheap shots may equal a dramatically valid one. Sorta. Maybe. We'll see.   - OS
  3.   Online vendors always best price, but locally Walmart and Academy. Academy has been selling UMC 250 packs and Winchester white box 200 packs for right about a quarter a pop in hand, Wally about the same, just sketchy stock.   You can get it down to just under .20 each in hand online with the right deal buying 1,000 lot.   - OS
  4.   Really appreciate that man. Dunno why that's not mentioned anywhere as a plus right off the bat.   Not that I'll necessarily ever get one of these,  but if all my existing mags didn't fit, I for sure wouldn't. Just like I didn't get involved with the Springfield XDM.   - OS
  5.   Since they have the vent ribs, bigger deal than usual I guess.   - OS
  6.   Care is a good thing. It's just that most parents can't really regiment their families like military platoons every minute of the day, especially those with several kids.   Hell, I'm an only child, grew up with homemaker type mom who was cloyingly protective, and I managed to wander off from her and out a department store when I was just a little squirt, took her and two street cops sometime to find me. And at 7, I would often be elsewhere around the neighborhood running around with kids my own age and older, whatever. And yeah, we had tomgirls in our pack, too. ;)   - OS
  7.     This kind of stuff has always happened, and all stats indicate that kids are as safe or safer in this regard than they were in days of old .. like all things, what has changed is the universal news reporting, so now everybody knows every little thing all the time, and perception about actual probabilities is skewed.   You're still talking about an event that would be described with gawd knows how many zeros after the decimal point  percentage. Compared to many other common daily activities that are a thousand times more likely to cause death, but yet folks don't worry about them at all. Including the kids playing in the ball game at that same place, whatever.   Ever see Stossel's program on "What We Should Be Scared Of"? Here's excerpt:   https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Z3CIjJeWx78   - OS
  8.   Not under 25", no.   You could swap an 18.5 incher onto it, but it's unclear to me whether the Wingmaster barrels have the same nicely blued finish as the receiver, or are just powder coated or whatever like the others.   - OS
  9.     France has already been doing airstrikes against ISIS in Syria since late Sept, using same bases from Jordan and the UAE and wherever that we are. They've also been doing same in Iraq for maybe a year, so of course their planes were already in place.   That's one reason France was the target of the terrorists, who were shouting "what about Syria".   - OS
  10.   Got a 92FS or M9 in stock too?  Still wondering if the standard 15 round mags fit?   TIA   - OS
  11.   FWIW, was reported that the ones in the concert venue were speaking French. And quite young. Which isn't verified, but if true would certainly suggest they weren't new arrivals or anything.   And btw, the Charlie Hebdo massacre brothers were French citizens born in Paris, first generation sons of Algerian immigrants.   - OS
  12.   I already know it'll just make me mad, though.   - OS
  13.   Any firearm -- loaded, unloaded, one in chamber, whatever. Permit not required.   edit: it does however require a permit to keep them in vehicle in posted/employer lots, or parked on school property.   - OS
  14.   I think my point was more insidious. What we're seeing are the next generations of radicalized Muslims from even the most peaceable families that have been living in these various countries.   Meaning that being Islamic period means that x percentage will do this sort of thing in time. Everywhere.     Oh, not necessarily. Lots of us heathens will fight on your side too. :)   - OS
  15.   Just grabbed it as Kindle, been meaning to read it, thnx for reminder.   - OS
  16.   Excellent points. Certainly if you can fight, you fight till you can't, and you might win over even long odds.     Supposedly they have five of the perps, not sure if dead, alive, wounded or what. But I'm betting they were probably second gen French citizen muslims. not just in from the outside for this gig. It's the long term legacy of all this that is coming to fruition, not so much the immediate invasions. As it will here too.     Witness who escaped the theater said the ones he saw where just wearing jogging type clothes, no vests or anything.   - OS
  17.   Sounding like a better coordinated long time planned effort than ISIS may be covertly up to .. several "experts" are leaning more toward Al Qaeda trying to prove "relevancy" again.   Guess we'll see.   - OS
  18. Holy crap, apparently most everyone left inside the music venue is dead, saying 100 or more of them.   - OS
  19.   Yes, always that for sure.   'Course the most likely places for this to happen here are where the fewest people are likely to be armed. Or anywhere in Western Europe.   - OS
  20.   As far as a heater on the person, I'm afraid "under-gunned" comes to mind for this type scenario.   - OS
  21.   Yep, perhaps even more pertinent is the frog and the scorpion, since these Muslim scorpions are willing to drown in the stream along with their frog victims, as it is "their nature" to do so.   - OS
  22.     I am shocked, shocked I tell you. Would have assumed one of the well known Christian, Jewish, Hindu, or Buddhist terrorist cabals.   - OS
  23.   Yep, redouble efforts to take your and my guns.   - OS
  24. Paris authorities now saying at least 35 dead, and at least 100 still hostages. At least 4 locations involved.   - OS
  25.   Ha. Their ToS is not to ship one between non-licensees, that's for sure, just like UPS. As per LuvMy, YMMV on the rest, too. Also just like UPS. Or USPS, too, who can actually be the worst, depending on the idiot you may draw at the counter.   As far as declaration, federal law only requires notification when shipping between non-licensees. It's not a crime to not notify a shipper otherwise, their ToS be damned.   Just make sure you ship a heater by the proper class, that's the part UPS/FedEx can burn you on if it becomes "missing".   - OS
