  1. I have 124 +p Golden Sabers in my Kahr PM9, never a glitch. Carry them in my XD, too. 'Course, no real glitches with much of anything with either of them. GS .357 in my Ruger wheelie, too. Got quite a few GS about a year ago before all the prices went up. Matter of fact, at the time, CheaperThanDirt sold them cheaper than anyone else in the universe for about 4 months. - OS
  2. The only thing I don't like on the CW model is the non-flush mag. Does that have to be made that way just to accommodate the 7th round? Seems like grip is already longer enough than a PM9 to hold 7 without having that "slam pad" thing? Don't get me wrong, I'm a Kahr owner...love my PM9. - OS
  3. Hi-Point doesn't make a 15 round mag for the carbine. You must have another brand, probably ProMag. - OS
  4. We're talking XD 9mm Sub Compact, yes? What's the "Kytak" holster. "Kydex"? What brand? I'd think certainly you shouldn't take less than $550 for the whole package and depending on that holster, that could be a VERY good deal. That X2 light/laser combo alone is about $165 best price I find. I'd say $450 for just the original XD package, and you might do better selling off the X2, holster, whatever, separately. XD subbies are still in high demand, and not always very easy to get. Best price on new XD subbie 9mm or .40 is usually $500 + tax/TICS which comes out to $556.25. - OS
  5. Since I mentioned your name, used your pic too. I picked up a C9 at last gun show, just haven't run it through my camera mill yet. - OS
  6. Go high end and get a $150 Hi-Point, like me and Mousegunner! - OS
  7. Note that they've recently changed the passport rules, too. An expired passport was good when I did mine last August, and that's what I used, since my one copy of birth cert was really fragile. Now passport must be current. - OS
  8. Seems counterproductive to sink extra bucks for "looks" into a holster where it won't be visible. - OS
  9. That's a ATI adaptor holding the light, which is a cheapie LED I got at Sam's a year ago. It's a rather heavy light, I could certainly replace it with something lighter/smaller. Also, though, couldn't use the Remmie stock slide/barrel brace (the one that would fit in the groove), as the sling base stuck down too far, so found another brace somewhere with sling base on its side, can't remember where, to replace that, but that may not actually be totally necessary. First time I shot it, light fell off after 5 rounds or so, socked it down tighter, and it held in there through about 20 rounds of some (very stout) 00 loads. All kinds of ways to do it, I guess...heck, the simplest would just be lay a light on side in the tube/barrel hollow and use rubber bands/bike inner tube section to hold it. For HD situation, probably as good. - OS
  10. If I understand correctly, you renewed AFTER your expiration date, yes? If so, you really aren't legal to carry until you get your new permit. As long as you renew BEFORE your expiration date, then what she told you is correct, receipt and old permit are fine. The six months AFTER expiration thing is that if you don't do it in that time period, you have to start over (taking the course, etc). But ya know what, I'll bet if you're ever asked for it by LEO, there's a good chance they wouldn't notice. ( I could be wrong and it may not be worth the risk, especially should the worst happen you had to USE your piece). - OS
  11. I'm afraid I feel about the same about hockey as soccer, which is to say, it's a little more entertaining to watch than shuffleboard. - OS
  12. I used 1950's H&R .22 revolver. Shells must have been about that age too...about 1 in every 6 or 7 were duds. Hi tech self-defense, for sure. - OS
  13. Totally off your topic, but what IS that avatar? - OS
  14. Rahm Emanuel said that actually, although your conclusion regarding it is probably valid. - OS
  15. Technically, it's 12 rounds @ 3, 7, 15 and 12 @ instructor's discretion. - OS
  16. Suntzu, where did you take your HCP training? Mariner: very few, if ANY, of the other HCP course venues ask you to shoot any particular way beyond the required distances. Mine certainly didn't. One handed, two handed, whatever. Only the distances are stipulated by the permit school requirements. You could simply make sure by asking whichever place you want to take the class from. - OS
  17. Lordie, you just started this a few hours ago, and the poll is 19/4 supporting your venture. Not just "in favor of" either, but "would participate". Seems rather overwhelming in your favor to me. - OS
  18. I retract "azzhat" and "childish" for now. Shouldn't have pre-judged. I tend to trust veracity of many long-time members here. I suggest you both simply relate the facts here, now that you have made an appearance. It sounds as if you DID cancel his order, so it must have been for some reason. - OS
  19. I don't think there ARE any plans to stop selling guns...few years ago there was a lawsuit or two, not sure how much that played into matters, but around that time WM pared down the stores that do sell guns. I think it has as much to do with demographics of which ones sell enough guns to make the FFL hassle worthwhile as anything else. I've heard a variety of "reasons" from employees why the west knox stores don't sell guns, enough to make it obvious that they aren't privy to corporate decision making. Certainly, WalMart system decisions are made overwhelmingly on basis of spreadsheet profit data, pure and simple. I'm sure their store by store stats are finely parsed. - OS
  20. I do. Quit laughing, whippersnapper. - OS
  21. You have glitch in second auction... Says first "you're bidding on number 1" Then later on down "remember, you're bidding on number 2" JFYI, - OS
  22. I bought 1100 of these GA 124+p , shot 100 and stashed the rest. All performed perfectly in 4 9mm pistols and HiPoint 995 carbine. Have shot a couple thousand of GA's "canned heat" 9mm also, never one dud. - OS
  23. Well, you need to do it on XDtalk where this apparently started? You want to make sure azzhat Kevin sees it. Let him explain his childish behavior. - OS
  24. Oh, well then I guess that's it, all right. Oh "Tin Foil Wearing Thin" Shoot
