  1. Yeah, he mentioned the water quality bill while talking about the veto, said something about "poison moving up the food strain". I think these jerks should at least be able to pass a high school GED test before taking office. - OS
  2. Geez, didn't have to at least buy different mags, fire 3700 rounds of ball before trying hollow points, fluff and buff, tune extractor to B flat and ejector to A sharp, and change sights so you didn't miss the entire barn? Sounds like real rarities, then. - OS
  3. Well, I mean you have to stick something down in there to defeat the interlock safety, otherwise it's not an interlock safety. edit: sorry, way off topic... quick draw might or might not be critical...just practice, over and over at home, even better at range where you can draw and actually fire, or of course at a training course or sports shooting like IDPA... - OS
  4. I know. But compared to a rock solid Glock or XD, LOTS do. Even 10% is a HIGH problem rate to me, and seems that most any 1911 build has at LEAST that degree of problems. I'd have had an EMP by now, if it weren't obviously even more problematic than .45s. - OS
  5. Like all leather custom without having to wait months? D.M. Bullard Leather Mfg. "Dual Carry" for Glock 19/23/32 RH - OS
  6. Guess that's why I never bought one. - OS
  7. Previously in this same thread: http://www.tngunowners.com/forums/tennessee-politics-legislation/22192-official-thread-tn-house-senate-override-hb0962-gubernatorial-veto-3.html#post290613 - OS
  8. "up the food strain" he said. HE needs to be "strained" out...what a moron. - OS
  9. If gun has mag disconnect feature, how CAN you dry fire it without mag in there? - OS
  10. I think whether you get a "dear friend" or "dear (your actual first name)" depends on how your emailer is set up. If you have real name in a field their program can parse, you get "dear (your name)", as I did. If not, you get "dear friend". No idea re Suntzu's "Diane", unless they know his own sweet self personally over there. Actually, Suntzu, you using your gal's puter or something? Her name Diane? - OS
  11. Striker Retainer Pin. They do seem to break once in a great while in a few guns. Whether caused by "excessive" dry firing is debated regularly. - OS
  12. Yes, I know there were some, but all the most effective ones were against governmental agencies: Rosa, for example, that pretty much kick started it all, was regarding Montgomery (city run) buses. Voter registration rallies and protests, Memphis (city) garbage workers, many more. Most all of the big marches were to US or state capitols. And I didn't say that public protest of a legit private business was illegal, just that it's not my libertarian cup o' tea. And remember, most discrimination policies in the past were "unwritten". In the case at hand, the business owner has specific statutory right to bar us, whether we're black, white, female, gay, whatever. - OS
  13. Okay. "last December" threw me. 5K+ rounds would be a lot in 5-6 months, not so much over 18 months. Enjoy. - OS
  14. It's one thing to petition the federal/state/local govt. by massing at one of its institutions for a "redress of grievances". Quite another to mass at a private place of business, where the owner is doing nothing illegal. Though you can legally do it, I'm agin' it myself -- whether at Associated Abortions, Sadie's Sex Shoppe, or Bill's Burger n' Beer. - OS
  15. ??? SR9 came out in 2007. - OS
  16. I have 4 steel lipped ones..in three sessions with them, none have been flawless, as far as feeding, EXCEPT if I used minimags. The loader works well enough, you just have to jiggle, tilt, crank, half crank back sometimes, etc. You get the hang of it, and it really DOES beat hand loading. But HERE'S the product I'm promoting as the niftiest 10/22 accessory: TriMag. Has website, but sells them cheaper on eBay. And you can get factory mags at Cabela's for 12.50 each by the four pack. - OS
  17. OUTSTANDING! (especially if you staged the pic just for this thread!!) - OS
  18. What do they know? They got human legs floating around in the river over there, but of course no need for self protection in restaurants or parks. - OS
  19. That always tickles me, too. - OS
  20. Would like to know this myself. SOMEtime, I need to work on an old floater of mine, too. - OS
  21. One quibble: The previous Dept. of Interior rule change (now under injunction) mandated concealed carry only, even in states that allow open carry. Didn't it? I actually don't know what the recently passed law allows? - OS
  22. aholster is in Chucky. Kydex only I think? Welcome to Aholster - OS
  23. As I understand it, municipalities can not enact any restrictive firearm legislation, unless that specific option is granted under state law (like the proposed local parks bill). And there is no state public transportation ban, or option for it. AFAIK, firearms possession is banned by federal law for interstate bus travel, just as it is for airlines. Which begs the question, can you legally carry on a Greyhound if your travel stays INstate? - OS
  24. Well, since we've already briefly had this "right" and LOST it, I wouldn't bet the farm this comes to fruition either. Guess I'm just a cockeyed pessimist. - OS
  25. Well, you know, recoil and "snap" really a subjective thing, but I've never found it objectionable in the PM9; can't honestly say it's any more than my XD service or XD subbie 9s. I fired 100 rounds through it at a time on three occasions when I first got it, no real discomfort. Only Keltec I've shot was the PF9, and can tell you the Kahr is MUCH gentler than that dang thing. Course, she really needs to shoot one 'fore ya invest, cause as you know they ain't cheap! - OS
