  1. Your Profile name at top of forum page : Client Area   See if there is a pending renewal notice. If so click that.   If not go to Purchases and click on the last one you paid for, should be a Renew button.   If all fails therein, guess you can just go to TGO Store and start over with a new one?   - OS
  2.   I would imagine that gun manufacturers want to be gun manufacturers, and for the most part don't care about all the added complexities involved with actually getting each individual firearm distributed to 125,000+ FFLs in the country before they get paid. Having a distributor network means they dump the guns en masse, with just a relatively few paychecks and paperwork involved in the whole thing, smaller sales and shipping depts, all kinds of stuff.   Makes sense to me. If you made something that netted you X amount in total, wouldn't it nifty to make that by only having to deal with say 25 customers rather than 100,000? Especially when there's legal federal paperwork and serial number database to keep up with on each transaction?   As always, middlemen make their nut by dealing with the minutiae that you'd rather not.   - OS
  3. According to this source: "According to a Paris prosecutor, the terrorists wore triacetone triperoxide explosive on their suicide vests during the Paris attacks on Nov. 13. Also known as TATP, the explosive is extremely sensitive to impact, temperature change and friction. Only a few hundred grams of the material produces hundreds of liters of gas in a fraction of a second. A comparable explosive is the decomposition of azide which fills air bags in cars." http://ktul.com/news/local/paris-attackers-wore-tatp-explosive-suicide-vests - OS
  4.   Cutting to the chase, I believe TN law requires bail for all charges except any form of homicide.   - OS
  5. Just noticed that Springfield is still doing freebie of 2 mags w/ XD Gear mag holder and 2 pistol range case with purchase of any type pistol through Dec. 31:   http://blog.springfield-armory.com/gearupandgo   - OS
  6.   Thanks...   I noticed with quick search that 9mm GS under $20/box is already pretty well snarfed up, so that feller in Winchester is offering a heck of a deal.   Just mostly for the spirit of the thing,  I grabbed 8 boxes of 9mm +p  and 2 of .38 +p from Buds online, will be about .35/round after rebate. Nothing to do cartwheels about, but still not bad at all, and this was already my go-to SD round anyway.   - OS
  7.   What is "P & R" as relates to Golden Saber?   - OS
  8. Kind of begs the question of how cartridge driven nail guns and the like escape the firearm classification in federal law.   I mean, I saw Denzel off the baddie with one in The Equalizer, and from good distance away, too!   - OS
  9.   Well, that is just broadcast home -- as story mentions, actual distributor is Sports South. I think it's uber nifty that it would be done from Kali, take that, Pelosi, Feinstein, Boxer, et al. the rest of the grabbers.   - OS
  10.   Well, sorta.   "It’s able to trace a gun back to its manufacturer and last legal sale from a licensed dealer."   Actually, can only for sure trace to first sale from a FFL. Any subsequent FFL transfers in most states wouldn't necessarily be found unless they can suss that out by talking to the chain of individuals involved along the way.   Even the records from out of biz FFLs in National Tracing Center need to be searched manually (supposedly), so again they'd have to know which FFL before searching, etc.   Then there are the states that have actual gun registration, that's another source.   - OS
  11.   PO Box out at Cedar Bluff Post Office only. Used to use a UPS Store one which will give you an actual "street address".   One of the principals has roots around here apparently, possibly actually Blount County, incorporated in TN I guess,   but there has never been any ammo or jobs here ... main warehouse seems to be around Atlanta somewhere. To my knowledge, no phone bank or puter center here either.   edit: Read Runco's link and Prag's post. Besides the bulkammo  connection I've read they run with a couple of other online ammo names too, but no idea exactly how it's all set up.   Doesn't really matter long as you get ammo for a decent price (I think I've bought from them once myself in the past),  but not realistic to favor them because they're a Tennessee employer or whatever.   - OS
  12.   They're not really in Knoxville.   - OS
  13.   Just fell them and fix more of the fence if necessary since you already have to do that anyway, might be cheaper overall?   - OS
  14. double tap, oops
  15. Don't think it's been mentioned that they seem to have the expert explosives maker. All of 19 years old, French national, I guess a citizen, was born there anyway. (citizenship is a bit more complicated than just being born there, though most seem to be). http://www.dailymail.co.uk/news/article-3324186/Belgian-police-launch-hunt-suspected-bomb-maker-believe-suicide-vests-used-gunmen-Paris-attacks.html - OS
  16.   They were home grown, including the ringleader, all French and Belgium nationals, except one so far. That includes the 20 or 30 more they've been rounding up with known or possible ties to the whole thing.  The story is how the few that were out of the country who were under the radar got back in without being noticed.   Hell, though I don't think she had participated that night in any role,  the woman that got blown up in the raid couple days ago was just a booze swilling party girl until just a few months ago, with no religious interest at all. Went from that to wearing the robe and veil damn near overnight. Just shows how quickly some can become radicalized if they are susceptible to begin with.   Her last words will likely not be immortalized as an ISIS battle cry however -- HE IS NOT MY BOYFRIEND!  Made me think of Frau Blücher. :)   - OS
  17.   That's why I wonder if most of these folks that hadn't been to Syria were "well trained" at all. The guy might have just run over to another on the team to get help with his AK.   But really, who knows.   - OS
  18.   You have extra http mess in that link, this will work:   http://www.dailymail.co.uk/video/news/video-1230096/Incredible-moment-woman-survives-Paris-gunman-tries-shoot.html   Chilling all right. And maybe shows some of these folks weren't all that hip about clearing and keeping an AK running after all.   - OS
  19. I'm hoping I'll know the diff between when I could shoot and when I must.   That doesn't necessarily mean I wouldn't if it seemed likely save someone else, though. Just really no way for me to absolutely know till faced with that -- just like battle plans, hypothetical rationalizations aren't all that reliable when the real situation is unknown or changes in a hurry, not to mention never had having my sand tested in that regard in the first place.   - OS
  20.   FMJ is prohibited for hunting anything in TN anyway, with rifle or handgun. You can't even have it with you even if you're not hunting with it, something to perhaps keep in mind if you're also packing under handgun carry permit.   - OS
  21.   Vegas. All the Western sins in one place.   Or of course, any sizable Christian/Jewish church/synagogue. Anywhere.   - OS
  22.   If they pack it up after the daily scheduled UPS pickup,  has to go out next biz day, that's all.   - OS
  23.   Yeah, and that is the only thing that's really new, the radicalization/activation of existing citizen populations in first world countries.   We've had little individual touches of it, like Hassan at Ft. Hood and Abdulazeez in Nooga and etc, but not concerted efforts by multiple perps that yielded high body counts -- that's what may well be changing.   - OS
  24.   Seems to me it would be easier to pull this sort of stuff off, and create more general fear, by just hitting non-iconic towns around the country that are big enough where the perps wouldn't stick out like sore thumbs right off the bat but wouldn't necessarily have the defense capabilities of NYC, DC, and etc. -- like any of the hundreds with populations of say 75-200,000.  AnyWhereVille, USA.   - OS
  25.   Dang man, you are just cursed with them somehow. I just got my third or fourth order through them, all fine, all shipped within 48 hours or less of placing order.   edit: oops, thought you were OP in thread. .   - OS
