  1. Yep, Norris is fine, already half planned to go up this weekend. - OS
  2. Well, it was illegal to carry in ANY city/county park/rec area before. Just doesn't look like we gained much, plus now will likely be extra scrutiny, and the "gray" verbiage of the "prohibited weapons" clarified (I guess). - OS
  3. - Oh "day late, dollar short" Shoot
  4. Found 9mm WWB 100 boxes at 3 Wally's today: Knoxville Center, Halls, and Clinton Hwy. Knox Center also had 50 round WWB, don't think I've ever seen them before, didn't even know they were packaged that way. Of course, I was mainly looking for .22 bulk and/or .357 mag, of which there was none. - OS
  5. Yeah, great to finally put faces with a few more TGO screen names...good company all around. Hot chicks, including a couple seated at our own table, hey hey!, haven't been to a Hooters in years, burp. Hey, Ron, no picture, poo! So if they don't post Knoxville parks, I guess we should meet Sept. 1, all open carrying at the swing sets, eh? Ummm, Nah. - OS
  6. Is that like Ecstasy, only more pleasurable? - OS
  7. I can understand how that could happen with you. - OS
  8. Well, no injunction... I guess I'll go to commemorate the event. - OS
  9. There must be some reason a custom holster maker like Bullard lists the Taurus separately from his other 1911 models? - OS
  10. Got away from both Norton and McAfee early on, ate too many system resources and etc... Used CA for years, back when it was free and continued into the paid product when that went away. Then CA AntiVirus changed versions and started causing GPF's in Win98SE box, and actually did BSOD on new XP box: it takes quite a Bad Thing to totally BSOD an XP box with software alone. Anyway, been using free AVG for about 4 years now, no probs at all. I use free Avast on old 98 laptop, though, since AVG not compatible. Depending on the current virus defs, most any AV proggie will give a false positive now and then, which often explains how one AV will "find" something and one won't. Then when virus defs are updated, that often goes away. AVG's are undated just about daily. I do NOT run the link checker part of AVG, though. Slows surfing down too much, even on fast cable connection. I run McAfee Site Advisor with Firefox as a prelim site check. Far as spyware, I switched to SuperAntiSpyware some years ago as main checker. In spite of the chintzy sounding name, it has gotten better reviews than AdAware and/or SpyBot for some time. I do NOT run it resident, however. YMMV, - OS
  11. Gunny's site: Gunny's - Indoor Shooting Range and ProShop - Maryville, Tennessee - "Because Shooting Isn't Just A..." - - - OS
  12. David Bullard lists Taurus w/rail for most of his models. Gun Leather, Concealment and Cowboy holsters, Azle, TX. - OS
  13. I'm no spring expert, but just try stretching it manually. A modern spring in good shape is really not supposed to lose its zap just from being compressed; it's compression and decompression from actually using it that causes the loss of turgor over time. But I guess an old spring could actually have the metal somewhat degraded over time, could actually have the steel with some degree of decomposition internally or something. So try stretching it, maybe even further than you think you should if a reasonable effort doesn't work. Always the chance that you might wind up having to replace it, but hopefully not. - OS
  14. I look forward to that historic event! (really)
  15. Bro, you shore would have fit right in today: http://www.tngunowners.com/forums/events-gatherings/23844-knox-shoot-saturday-7-11-high-noon-2.html#post316771 - OS
  16. I keep these in old Charter Undercover .38 that I didn't want to run +p in, and they seem to do nicely. One of the few non +p JHP rounds still to be found. - OS
  17. Tried just stretching spring out some? (try to do it evenly) - OS
  18. Yep, was another fine ole time at the funkadelically charming Norris range. The sheer concussion of a couple hundred rounds of Mosin driven awesomeness by Mike357, Garufa, and BubbiesDad, was well, just awesome in its sheer concussionosity. Not to mention Garand, SKS, and Mauser detonations. Real men, these, even with rubber butt plates. And not ashamed of wearing them, neither. Yep, still don't have my Blackhawk as companion piece yet (and now can't afford it for a while), but love love love this carbine. Yippee kai yi yea! PS: that's my cell phone under shirt, NOT a rubber butt plate attachment! - OS
  19. If it's not a Hi-Point, just don't know. The "big A" throws me. Hmmm...Hi-Points have a triangle in name/logo, wonder if that's what you saw as an "A"? - OS
  20. Careful man...better to be a Socialist Satanist than to diss JMB in this forum! - OS
  21. If you hit the perp well enough to stop him, you were qualified with the handgun. If you missed him, you weren't. What's to prove? Being "good" with your gun is not the same as being "justified" to use it. Extra training could just as easily backfire, too. "look at all these firearm courses this guy took - he's a Rambo gun nut." - OS
  22. Rape is a crime of violence. Many women who are raped are also murdered. What more reasonable fear of death or severe bodily harm does one need? - OS
  23. Aren't there some states that still have the "adjoining states" requirement? - OS
  24. Out of my Ruger 2 1/4" barrel, there is quite a bit LESS flash with Golden Saber .357 or .38 +p than with target ammo. Also, a huge diff in my XD 9 SC (3" barrel) between 9mm Golden Sabre +p and cheap ball ammo. You're saying the GS +p is a BIGGER flash than the range ammo, though, eh? - OS
