  1.   Yeah, I know. I still have about a month before I can.   This is just to answer a question about the change in the rehab clause I'm quite curious about, that only the exact wording of the question will resolve.   - OS
  2.   If you mean May of this year, that would be great. Seems there may have been a change for 2015, but not sure, so even last year's one might well help.   - OS
  3.   Where? I have never found a copy online. I want to read it, even put out a call for a copy in another thread.   The point is I want to see exactly how the question is posed verbatim, to see if both current and past conditions must be met as per the statute,  same as the DUI part.   - OS
  4. Hey, a plea to anyone who gets a HCP Renewal App in the mail.   Unlike a 4473 or many state handgun apps which can be found online, no copy seems to exist of the TN one.   Due to a question arising from the other thread in this forum, I would very much like to see the exact questions and how they are worded, and my next one is till about 6 months away.   So could someone make a readable scan or photo of it and get it to me? Need one as exists this year.   thanks in advance   - OS
  5.   Again, I'd like  to see exactly how the question is posed on the HCP app.   - OS
  6.   I did grab 10 of the GS (see other thread) but didn't do nearly as well as you.   Only did it because indeed they are my SD round of choice for many years now.   - OS
  7.   Ah, gotcha, thanks. Even though I'm not math wizard, I couldn't figure that, was buggin me. ;)   best,   - OS
  8.   Only ten of them get the discount, so afraid it's closer to double that for 20, even not counting shipping? I mean, you did order through the link in first post where they were 12.50-14.50 each?   - OS
  9.   http://www.tngunowners.com/forums/topic/35061-deal-spotter/page-14#entry1326733   Yeah, the 9mm went first.   - OS
  10.   That is a valid point, I'll give ya that.   - OS
  11. As someone else mentioned, I guess the American military better get PC, eh:   Apache, Comanche, Chinook, Lakota, Cheyenne, Kiowa, Tomahawk, Black Hawk (Indian chief), Geronimo (mission name to kill Bin Laden), etc.   - OS
  12.   Ya know what? You're right and I'm wrong. Happens every decade or so. :)  I was wrongly conflating commitment for mental disorder and commitment for alcohol/drugs. There are indeed separate conditions involved so again,  mea culpa.   But here's the deal as I understand the drug/alcohol part -- you have to be both:   "an unlawful user of or addicted to alcohol, any controlled substance or controlled substance analogue AND either - A patient in a rehabilitation program pursuant to a court order or hospitalized for alcohol, controlled substance or controlled substance analogue abuse or addiction pursuant to a court order within ten (10) years from the date of application; or - A voluntary patient in a rehabilitation program or voluntarily hospitalized for alcohol, controlled substance or controlled substance analogue abuse or addiction within three (3) years from the date of application"   The "and" is the same importance as the "and" in the DUI condition as I understand it. So is the question still worded that way on the form? Meaning you have to admit to being currently an unlawful user or addict to be disqualified?   And indeed, TNDOS blanket statement on site is wrong by being incomplete, as it only mentions the 10 year period. If that law just changed last year, it slipped by everyone here, which is unusual, but guess it happened.   And as a side issue, how would TNDOS "find out" if you had entered voluntary rehab in the first place if you didn't admit it?   - OS
  13.   Opinion unchanged. The Kill Bill sequence of offing the 50 or so baddies was cool and all, and I do like seeing bad ass chicks slice and dice, but been dere done dat quite a lot, and story still ain't grabbing me.   Only the Baron is interesting to me as a character as he's soooo uber mean and all with a Southern accent, but ...   - OS
  14.   Where'd you get that? There is no such provision for suspension of a permit due to voluntary commitment in 39-17-1352, and voluntary commitment is not a disqualifying event for getting a permit in the first place, as per 39-17-1351 and as explained in FAQ on TNDOS handgun site also.   - OS
  15.   Oops, didn't realize next week is the mid-season finale, looks like an awful lot going on. Might not have time to off Glenn if that's really gonna happen, maybe even play out the long con even longer till second half opener?   - OS
  16. See Yeun's little spot during Into The Badlands break? "So glad to be back..."   Definitely setting up the long con -- or if not and he ain't gone by the season finale, whole thing is just an extended red herring. Which might be the cheapest shot of all. :)   - OS
  17.   Exactly, hence my harping on the "cheap shot". The only way they can sort of vindicate the whole chintzy way they've done it is to kill him off soon as the "gotcha".   - OS
  18.   I predict Maggie will get to see him (really) die, maybe not till season closer though.   - OS   edit: maybe before, I see Yeun is on Talking Dead tonight. Course , that could be a double down ruse.
  19.   Ones in TN generally more like a mouse or small chipmunk.   You hardly ever see them unless you dig 'em up.   Voles on the other hand get out and about. Matter of fact, most "field mice" are really voles.   - OS
  20. Lateral soft spots are usually mole or vole tunnels.   - OS
  21.   For a while, probably cheaper for most, except highest income earners, but goes up every year.   "In 2016, the Individual Shared Responsibility fee for not having insurance is $695 per adult and $347.50 per child (up to $2,085 for a family), or it’s 2.5% of your household income above the tax return filing threshold for your filing status – whichever is greater."   - OS
  22. "Liking" your post didn't mean I'm liking your situation of course.   But the analogy of the car insurance is great. Since that actually does not happen in the auto insurance world, except for the relatively minimal extra cost of figuring in uninsured motorists shared by everyone,  it's pure economic socialism that it does happen in the health insurance world.     - OS
  23. Finally watched the premiere.   Meh. Seen so many quality Asian martial arts films in last few years that part just doesn't grab me much. Chopsocky got elevated to high art at least 15 years ago, so that part is a pretty high bar to stand alone, and the story itself didn't grab me enough either.   I'll probably watch one more to see if the story and characters speak to me more, but I'm doubting it.   - OS
  24.   I imagine you have a slightly different point of view regarding risk than the folks who willingly strap them on. ;)   Unless you're saying you'd be willing to wear one that was "safer"? :)   - OS
