  1. Simple enough, either get something like the 870 Express Synthetic: 6+1 rounds w/18" barrel And add a long barrel with Rem Choke Or go the opposite way and get a basic 870: And add a 18" barrel with no choke. I like first option better, more capacity, more weather resistant. - OS

  3. Or, "Control +" in both FireFox and IE, Hex. - OS

    Ruger LCP Recall

Correct. "Pistols with the “371†prefix or higher (for example, 372, 373, etc.) are not affected." Ruger - LCP Product Safety Warning and Recall Notice - OS
  5. I feel exactly same way. Last SA/DA one I handled loaded was Beretta 92. I KNOW it's doing as designed, but watching that hammer smack down on a chambered round is, even outdoors, an uncomfortable feeling, and indoors would be indeed unnerving to me. But heck, I've never felt totally comfy chambering that first one indoors even on a striker fired semi. There's always that minuscule chance that something breaks and that firing pin is exposed for a slam fire. - OS
  6. Size is only mandated in the park carry statute, not the "certain meetings" (private biz) statute. - OS
  7. Unlike the Austrians, the Croats incorporate MBGHD* into the barrel rifling. * Magic Bad Guy Homing Dust Really. No kidding. - OS
  8. Yeppers, appreciate it as always Patrick! - OS
  9. Whaddaya mean, "when Lou agrees"? He's and Jack Cafferty are the most conservative commentators on CNN. Matter of fact, they'd both fit in on Fox better. - OS
  10. Dang, MolonlabeTN, I can't even go back and see the straw that broke the camel's back. Couldn't ya have left the evidence up for hoot value? - OS
  11. I PM'd Patrick Stegall to perhaps render a legal opinion. I told him to bill YOU. - OS
  12. Breaking a federal law becomes a federal criminal case. We're talking about civil case here. If you sue me, the only two ways I can think of that it would be filed in federal court is if I work for the federal govt. and you name the federal govt. as a co-defendant and also, I guess some kinds of civil rights violations could go straight to federal court. Then again, I think civil rights stuff falls under criminal law? - OS
  13. I don't claim much legal knowledge either, but why would one be in federal court with a personal lawsuit? It's my understanding that you'd have to be suing the federal govt. to do that, or possibly wind up there after all state appeal courts were exhausted. Patrick? - OS
  14. Helluva touching deal, for sure. A question though, where would this be shown? It's almost 5 min long. - OS
  15. Ruger serial number history, if that's what you're asking?: Ruger Firearms Serial Number History - OS
  16. I've never shot anybody with it, but I've shot it. Can't give tech answer, and I don't have a chrono, but feel safe to posit that it's not enough to make much diff on a bad guy! While there are LOTS of SD defense rounds that are rated way over this brand, I have no doubt it will do its job if you do yours. Just shoot enough of it to make sure it feeds reliably in your piece, there are reportedly some pistols that don't like 147 gr. - OS
  17. OMG, I hope some student didn't shoot Kent! (taught mine) - OS
  18. What stories? Where is Norris? Brain? - OS
  19. Bro, wouldn't even know how to begin to find it. One can't even laboriously look through ALL posts by user, only brings up last 500, and I've been much more verbose, um, rather prolific, yeah that's the ticket, prolific, during my relatively short tenure here. Words written on the wind, indeed. - OS
  20. That's actually a fairly serviceable looking holster to moi. Since I like all leather, too, and it has bodyguard and has loops off the center of the affair. - OS
  21. There's a more detailed thread post re this something on TGO, but in a nutshell, I've "shown" a gun in tense situations 3 times. Twice with a wheel gun back in my my, um, rather more colorful youth. Note that both times, I was really at fault for even BEING in such a situation, which proves the old adage that the best defense is between your ears, or don't enter a battle of wits as an unarmed opponent, or a fool and his center of mass are soon parted, or something like that... The last time I was guilelessly on my own land and had a little Please Do Not Forsake Me High Noon standoff with a local inbred Mr. Deliverance, a .22 rifle being my probable savior then. Didn't have to shoot in any of the three situations, although my heart rate wouldn't likely have increased any if I had (before it also might have decreased in a hurry). Which also debunks the "if you show a gun, use it" theorem. Or suggests either that the Big Guy looks out for weirdos or that it's all a random crap shoot, yeah, one of those two for sure. Note that all these were in pre-HCP days anyway. - Oh "just proud to be here" Shoot
  22. They're just the factory grips, which I find excellent for best combo of shock absorption and concealment. The wooden inserts I got off eBay from one of the folks who make them and sell on there, dakins7579. They're red oak, under $20. He, and maybe some others, also make them out of rarer woods, too (and more expensive). - OS
  23. Louisville doesn't even have a motel. (Oh, you meant the one in Kentucky, sorry.) - OS
  24. Because prima donnas are temperamental? - OS
  25. Well, those are all noble sentiments, since the fact remains that you can be fined and/or jailed for handgun possession in your home in Chicago (and Oak Park and maybe other 'burbs) just who SHOULD enforce 2A there? - OS
