  1. So, not my best ever choice of words, ya think? - OS
  2. Maybe the pink one, then? - OS
  3. Oh Shoot

    Zombie eraser.

Geez, guys. Silver bullets are needed for werewolves, not vampires. - OS
  4. Forgot to mention two real highlights for me today, got to shoot kwe45919's Tech 9, or rather half Tech 9 and half AB 10 - that thing is pretty sweet, not much recoil and quite accurate as long as you're not trying to play gangland slayer with it... Also, got to shoot my first XDM, Garufa's .40. I must say, everything everyone has said about them seems true, accurate as can be, recoil in the new design is absorbed better than on regular XD, just slick slick slick. As much as I like my two XDs, I'd wager there's an XDM 9 in my future. - OS
  5. Okay, make us feel guilty. Just go ahead, we can take it. And don't mention that your friend was still there with you so we didn't leave you totally alone in the wilds of the Norris Watershed. - OS
  6. If ya want a purty wheel gun, consider Charter Arms; certainly the equal or better of a Rossi, and American made. Charter Arms: Products Lavender Lady, Pink Lady, etc. I kinda like the Goldfinger: - OS
  7. I usually suggest folks take a look at David Bullard's stuff; here's Dual Carry for your Walther: "Dual Carry" for Walther PPS RH - OS
  8. Maybe I should try a little actual grease, just been using CLP. The Marlin guys say to sit around and jack it a thousand times while watching tube or something, but I haven't done that yet. Good to see everyone today, always enjoy it a lot! - OS
  9. Takes a mod to close...if one reads this, he might now. - OS
  10. Well, no big deal, but you said: "I know it [meaning change in finish] was right when Springfield picked up the design from HS ..." which just wasn't so; Springfield XDs that rusted were sold for 3-4 years, just like the identical HS2000 branded guns. - OS
  11. Well, missed you, but thanks for sequestering the H1N1! - OS
  12. Why not just add on to this recent thread: http://www.tngunowners.com/forums/handgun-carry-self-defense/27308-post-your-story.html - OS
  13. Far out...I retract my previous statement re NRA sponsored insurance. 2nd mistake I've made this year... - OS
  14. Well, dunno exactly what you mean there. Springfield didn't do anything but buy the right to distribute and repair and customize the HS Produkt HS2000 around 2001 under the XD rebranding. The first few years of XD branded pistols were rust prone just like the HS2000. They are still produced in the same plant in Croatia. But yeah, starting 2006, ALL XD variants had the Melonite, which has proved to be as good as the Glock Tennifer. Indeed, the two processes are supposed to be pretty much the same thing. - OS
  15. You can get life insurance that pays off in gun related accident, matter of fact you get some when you join, forget how much. But don't think it covers actual self defense type death, but it might. But at any rate, it's life insurance that only pays off when you're dead. You can also get insurance on your guns, theft for sure, maybe fire and whatnot not sure about that. But no liability to cover others for your bullets, whether justified or not. - OS
  16. Nah, only about 200 even from Cleveland. So you'll be there, right? - OS
  17. Pack my $20 worth of fohty caliber - OS
  18. I'll make effort to be there by noon, Ron, to grab another or two... It doesn't really matter if I even shoot much or at all on these weekend meets, since I get up there whenever I want during the week. Just like to see all the folks and their purty guns. Hey, you suss out your Kahr prob? I'll bring mine and mags to check out? - OS
  19. None are posted now. Here's the story from the TFA on how some of them got briefly posted back in '03: http://www.*********.org/forum/viewtopic.php?f=7&t=260 edit: what the hey, are the letters ********* (TEE EF A online) banned here? I guess they are. here's link with tinyurl: http://tinyurl.com/ylzth4m - OS
  20. While I agree with all your points, just a FYI: Rest areas, on any type road, are not exempt to legal handgun carry. May have been in the distant past, or some posted in error for a time, I forget which, but carry permit holder is good to carry in them in TN. - OS
  21. My opinion is yes, that's fine, and that you'd really have had to piss a LEO off in some other way for him to charge you with intent to go armed in that situation. Truth be told, my guess is that 99.+ out of 100 LEOs in TN wouldn't charge you even if the ammo was right there with the unloaded guns without other circumstances of some sort making them look for something to sting you. Note: This is my opinion. IANAL. - OS
  22. I was there Thursday, wasn't bad. Ground actually soft enough to stick metal spinner targets in ground without a power auger. - OS
  23. We've been saying 1ish. I've not been there on "after church" Sunday before, might not be a bad idea for some of use to show around noon to grab some stations? - OS
  24. Their printed rules say no. - OS
  25. Yeah, the whole debate with Knoxville City Council was whether to: - repeal the municipal ban If they did so, then they had two other choices - allow carry and post no signs as per new TN statute - disallow carry an post sings as per TN statute They voted to leave existing ban in place. Also, not that very few of the parks/greenways have any signage on them re weapons (or the many other rules they have). NONE of the ones I frequent do. The local ordinance does not call for signage as necessary ... you're just supposed to know. Until all this hoopla came about, I didn't even know we HAD that ordinance, and I've lived here since 1966. - OS
