  1. 'Bout 60 clams, there is link in first post. - OS
  2. Tried evenly as possible STRETCHING the spring out? - OS
  3. Correctamundo. "(t) Any law enforcement officer of this state or of any county or municipality may, within the realm of the officer's lawful jurisdiction and when the officer is acting in the lawful discharge of the officer's official duties, disarm a permit holder at any time when the officer reasonably believes it is necessary for the protection of the permit holder, officer or other individual or individuals. The officer shall return the handgun to the permit holder before discharging the permit holder from the scene when the officer has determined that the permit holder is not a threat to the officer, to the permit holder, or other individual or individuals provided that the permit holder has not violated any provision of this section and provided the permit holder has not committed any other violation that results in the arrest of the permit holder."
  4. Want a nice one you can get within about a month? Will work up to about 5:00, but not maybe so well for true SOB. D.M. Bullard "Dual Carry" for Kel-Tec PF-9 RH or just something that might (maybe) do? - OS
  5. "A man named Kenly" was exactly wrong. Of course you can pay for a duplicate at the time of the original permit. If you are denied for the permit, they just keep all the money. - OS
  6. Well, true atheism puts a premium on personal effort and responsibility, since it can't blame anything on, nor expect any favors from, divine intervention. - OS
  7. Wouldn't do any good to test unless it went through TGO host SMTP. Sending you email through any of our individual ISPs or hosted domains wouldn't test anything about TGO generated email. - OS
  8. Actually leather. 'Bout $20 bucks. Only other one I found was the expensive Galco leather one, these work better. Though I carry a spare in pocket now, I have kept two if you want to try one. Second thought, mine is for XD, might not fit Glock...they make it for a bunch of diff ones. - OS
  9. The one I like the best, Safariland 123. It is somewhat adjustable. Has additional advantage of enclosing entire mag, so if seen, doesn't scream gun. - OS

Wow, did you hear about this from some other source, or discover it yourself? Google reveals nothing about this lore. I'll keep it in mind for use during the End Times, but don't suppose I'll try it out first. - OS
  11. Well, for used guns, you'll need to haunt gun stores and the few pawn shops that still mess with guns... Also, there's the GOLSN spawned: - Gun Owners Club! - A Place for Gun Enthusiasts You can set Knoxville and x number of miles and keep an eye out there. I didn't think to look for any .22 wheelies at the gun show over the weekend. Oh, of course you should put an ad here in TGO under wanted to buy. Put in .22 revolver and see what might come around. And of course keep an eye on the for sale section too, there was an H&R similar to mine offered about 2 months ago...I even thought about buying it: http://www.tngunowners.com/forums/firearms-classifieds/25985-h-r-model-929-9-shot-da-22lr-revolver.html#post344352 - OS

This could be handy for after doomsday, but I can't quite picture how it would work...elaborate? - OS
  13. I think that's rather odd myself. Haven't eaten squirrel in many a year, but ate a pile of them back when, and I never found a particularly tough one. As far as old, it's generally acknowledged that 4 years is a VERY old squirrel in the wild. - OS
  14. There are a few on GunBroker most all the time. - OS
  15. It doesn't convert it permanently, just while you want to change to shooting .22 out of same gun. Many Glock owners do that with a kit, comes with different slide/barrel, spring, mag. Although the kit is generally almost as expensive as another used gun.... - OS
  16. When I said "depending on which cartridges", I meant how much powder and bullet weight. Like all calibers, there are lots of differences in feet per second within the same caliber class. I have .357 loads that claim 1400 and some that claim only 800. You can generally add 300-400 ftps when shooting out of a rifle, though. I don't reload, but still there are a wide variety of loads in commercial rounds. All the trajectory stuff I've seen indicates that a "full" load, say 1300 fps or better won't drop at all or hardly at all at 100 yards, even out of a pistol. I don't have any experience with a Winchester, only my Marlin 1894C, so don't know about that loading gate glitch. I did have one time I didn't get a shell in all the way and jammed mine momentarily, but was able to free it by jiggling/ejecting, something or other and continue loading. - OS
  17. Well, no, it doesn't. Depending on just which cartridge, it should be pretty much right on at 100 yards, although this seems to be the magic distance, as by 120 yards, you may get as much as a 3" drop. (talking full load shells here, not weak cowboy loads). - OS
  18. You know, there are .22LR conversion kits for the Beretta 92. I know nothing about them other than they are out there. - OS

Since you're only 22, the smart money says you will. - OS
  20. Yeah, Mosinon shot my H&R 922. They sell for under $200 when you can find them, and they made a bazillion of them in several different barrel lengths, my model made from 1950 to 1982. Charter makes a target model in 4" also. 6 shots as opposed to 9 in the HR, but you don't have to remove cylinder to reload, either. - OS
  21. 1.5" bullhide by BeltMan is hard to beat. - OS
  22. It's on the second set of doors as you go in, best I remember. I pop in there about once a month when I'm down there. Always ogle at the pawn shop by Airport Rd. too. The biker bar next door seems to have closed down. Also, speaking of 'Nooga posting, there are NO signs on the Brainerd levee greeenway, either direction. I walked all the way to the Camp Jordan loop, and no signs there, but didn't go around the loop to check it out. - OS
  23. Prices are definitely coming around. I bought 500 rounds of .357 Mag for .43698/round w/ ammo can. One of the usual suspects got a nifty package deal on a dang new looking CZ 82, including some nice original leather, and another got a Hi-Point NBR (Naughty Black Rifle) with the new tacticool furniture. I'll let them pipe up. I almost bought a spotting scope for $100 but didn't, and glad, as found out can get it for $55 online. Oh yeah, I got 3 P-51 can openers, little do dads I've had on the list for awhile but keep forgetting to score. There was some ammo there selling for same price as the Walmart it was originally bought from 8 months ago, too. Actually, saw some CCI Minimag .22LR selling for about .50/hundred cheaper than Wally's price! - OS
  24. The new ugly really did speak to me today! - OS
  25. Hamilton Place. I enter through any of the anchor stores. Actually, ate at Picadilly's there last time was down seeing mom...they have an outside entrance (unposted) also. - OS
