Chris Matthews - WEST POINT WAS THE ENEMY CAMP FOR OBAMA
Oh Shoot replied to a topic in 2A Legislation and Politics
Hmm, I see it totally different. I'm not familiar with Matthews at all, but his "enemy camp" euphemism was obviously meant as how O and his advisers likely perceive it, citing the the rather cool response from the audience. And I'd say that's right. I'd be surprised if more than 20% of the total military is pro Obama, if even that. - OS -
David posted, "In Firefox: Click the 'Tools' menu. Select 'Options' from the menu that appears. From the dialog box, select 'Privacy' on the left. Find 'Cookies' on the main pane, and click the 'Clear' button adjacent to it." Note that FireFox has the GREAT feature of being able to selectively REMOVE INDIVIDUAL COOKIES in this same location. Cookies are listed in folders, alphabetically. TNgunowers.com folder has 10 or 12 individual cookies, for example. Easiest to just delete entire folder. This way you don't zap all the other automatic things that cookies do for you on other sites. - OS

Can't see how the XD mags could be any more susceptible to failure from "debris" than Glock ones, and certainly have never read of such. As far as the grip safety, funny how you never hear any criticism of 1911s in that regard. Indeed, the XD grip safety is extremely light compared to most 1911s, and it would be extremely difficult to actually hold it in such a way to manage a trigger pull yet not depress the grip safety. - OS

Remains to be seen. Hopefully none. - OS

I did similar with my Daisy pump, but not on purpose. You know on those, the magazine/muzzle screws out of end of barrel. Mine jammed some how or other, wouldn't shoot, and you usually had to use flat of your palm to press down on them while unscrewing. Did so, and POOF, right into heel of hand. The pumps (just a single pump) must be more powerful, it left BB 1/4" or deeper IN heel of my hand. Got it out with something, good sized bloody hole for a while until it healed. I still have that gun. Even sent away for new mag/muzzle insert somewhere about 10 years ago to repair it. - OS

Pretty clear to me. Lack of a prohibition means no prohibition. You can read all TN weapons statutes at: Legal Resources Click Title 39, Chapter 17, Part 13. (frames based site, can't give you URL directly) - OS

If there weren't XD 9 Service and XD 9 Sub Compact, I'd have Glock 19 and 26. - OS

Constitutional Law Text book and 2nd Amendment

Just to clarify: I'm not having that problem. I don't even log in manually, the "remember me" has worked fine, password not even saved via browser. I guess you'll see me logged in to TGO MOST of the time, as I tend to have 5 to 10 tabs open in FireFox, puter stays on 24/7, often I don't even close programs out when I retire, etc. - OS

Perhaps. But do you want some self-defined quasi military group making that determination? - OS

That is correct. What's your point? - OS -
Might be tricky to show residency in TN without a TN driver's license, unless you claimed you didn't drive or something. You may consider yourself a "dual resident", but neither FL or TN will likely share that sentiment. Unless there's a downside I don't know about, simplest sounds like for you to just get FL permit since you keep a FL DL. FL handgun permit fine in TN and vice versa. Just note that the carry laws vary some between the two states so be sure to read up on both. You could probably get a resident permit from one state and a non-resident permit from the other, but I don't really see a reason for the complexity and expense. Both permits are honored pretty much same nationwide, about 38 states. You can compare the two: http://www.handgunlaw.us/states/tennessee.pdf http://www.handgunlaw.us/states/florida.pdf - OS

Your choice on the long guns with HCP. You know you can have loaded long guns in vehicle (but not one in chamber) with HCP, yes? - OS

Well, while both mean lots of death, a revolution and civil war are quite different. Not exactly sure what the sides would be right now in a civil war. Methinks the odds of having total economic and hence, social breakdown ranks much higher on the scenario list - in which case the disputes will for a good while likely be much smaller and personal in scale. If the thread of society does crumble, that will certainly be as effective as a revolution as far as tearing down existing institutions, but won't be very effective in rebuilding new ones of a type which founded the states - indeed, after a great kill off, the likelihood of pure junta/fascism type power would increase greatly, seems to me. - OS

If they are struck down by armed force, then you're back to where we were in 1776. If you're on the winning side, you're a patriot and glorified; if the losing side, a traitor and shot. Laws are orders, too. You choose to obey them or not, just as in the military. - OS

Stripper clips, magazines, original retail box, loose rounds = it doesn't matter, TN law says nothing about them. It's all simply "ammunition". - OS -
Tiger Woods Seriously Injured in Car Crash
Oh Shoot replied to TripleDigitRide's topic in General Chat
Tiger has now ducked HIS OWN tournament this weekend, no other statement forthcoming. While he has every legal right to do what he's doing, it's really looking rather catastrophic for him PR wise - skipping his own Chevron World Challenge (which directly benefits his own highly hyped charity efforts) on a lame excuse issued through his agent shows he's getting some really poor advice from his inner circle, methinks. - OS -
All you folks with probs have the "remember me" box checked at the login fields? - OS

Anything's possible. Obviously, locking and separating should logically show your good intent, but as you say, much weapon law is totally up to the local LEO and judge. - OS -
I've simply followed the law for long guns, regardless of the incorrect FAQ on ATF site, packed up firearm, printed label online, and dropped off at either USPS or UPS store without saying squat. You have to have an account to do UPS online, but you can do USPS online with "Click and Ship" without an account. "18 U. S. C. 922 ( e): (e) It shall be unlawful for any person knowingly to deliver or cause to be delivered to any common or contract carrier for transportation or shipment in interstate or foreign commerce, to persons other than licensed importers, licensed manufacturers, licensed dealers, or licensed collectors, any package or other container in which there is any firearm or ammunition without written notice to the carrier that such firearm or ammunition is being transported or shipped..." That's what I have done on the few occasions I've had to ship a long gun to a FFL. Hint for USPS: you must personally tender packages over 13 oz, but you don't have to stand in line if you already have label/postage paid. Just put up on counter at unoccupied station, I usually get a nod from a teller acknowledging he sees it/them, and out the door. - OS

When Stewart spoke at the Knoxville Tea Party back in April, he had the crowd hooked all the way up through the "retake/take first time" oath bit, but once he basically suggested that armed resistance would almost certainly be needed, much of the crowd that I could see well became visibly uncomfortable. Was a little myself. I knew right then that if it wasn't already, this org would soon be under some real fed scrutiny. - OS
