  1. Never have heard of a gun maker who limited the weight, but there must be a Taurus specific reason, so I reckon I'd drop down to a 124gr self defense load if it were me. You oughtta shoot at least 100 rounds of whatever you decide on as your carry ammo anyway; gotta make SURE it feeds/ejects reliably. - OS
  2. Not in city limits. City limits very "patchy" out west, about a block away from them. I have no idea how the cops keep up with it given any particular exact locale. - OS
  3. Outstanding...will check out pics when you get it. Oh, man...just discovered that my man David Bulllard makes various models for the 83. If you ever want all leather, there's perhaps another option. - OS
  4. Don't know much about them, just did quick search, couple refs said same. I get involved holster stuff for some reason - I seem to like them almost as much as the guns they hold! Here's couple of pix: CZ 82 CZ 83: As you say, trigger guards different. Kinda looks like to me that something made for the 83, like Crossbreed, would fit 82, but no guarantees. 'Course, Crossbreed can be tweaked with hair dryer. OP, if interested you can email Mark at Crossbreed, he may know. - OS
  5. Isn't the CZ 83 same physical dimensions? If so, Crossbreed lists it as supported for the SuperTuck, QwikClip, and SnapSlide models. - OS
  6. Yeah, not sure the sequence of bills, but the latest one WAS passed just this year. - OS
  7. "You WILL fall down when wearing a SOB holster, fall right ON it, and CRIPPLE yourself for life. I know a couple of detectives this has happened to." - OS
  8. They list 5 and 3 inch models. You have a 1 inch barrel? Almost certainly cheaper off site, you know. - OS
  9. Assuming HAWG is normal 1911 confit cept for butt: JBP has a couple: MASTER'S Leather SMALL OF THE BACK (SOB) Holster SLEEPING DOG Leather Dual Position Holster This last one is on CTD for 'bout $35 My man Dave Bullard makes several nifty IWB options for 1911's, one can be used SOB: Texas Conceal Carry, 75 clams: His "IWB" looks like same, without mag holder section, 55 clams: Note he mentions getting these for opposite hand if going SOB. And the SideGuard OWB is "almost" SOB, fits good ways behind hip, 55 smackers: EDIT: That's BODYguard not SIDEguard. He's up to 2 months turnaround now, was a few days back when I first ordered from him. - OS
  10. Same as Glock, or, as you mention, a revolver. Glock is shorter pull, revolver generally significantly heavier (in double action, anyway). Won't go off unless trigger is pulled to fruition. And don't everybody give my that Glock (or XD and others) "safe trigger" crap. There's no reasonable way to pull those triggers withOUT the "trigger safety" being activated - I've always thought this is total hype, not a safety at all, and shouldn't even be there. - OS
  11. - Either get Weaver rail from Crickett or elsewhere that fits the holes on the Crickett or - Get scope rings that fit the scope that also fit the "tip off" (3/8") narrow rail you apparently have (some of those fat red dot scopes dont have removable rings/mounts, so first option may be about it). Ruger makes a combination tip off AND Weaver rail for their 10/22, don't guess Crickett does also? (gives you a little more freedom fitting variety of stuff) I don't know of any "adapters" to make tip off/weaver or vice versa, but if there are, it wouldn't be an optimal method, IMO. - OS
  12. AND open carry in places that sell booze. (the "Virginia tuck" for CCW holders) - OS
  13. You've gotten some thread confused. Garufa picked one of those 'bout 6 weeks back, not me. IF I were a little flusher, AND had seen that BearCat first, it would probably be in my stable though. Little brother to my Blackhawk .357. I didn't make it to Norris today...actually didn't think Garufa was going either, total SNAFUBAR. - OS
  14. Well, I guess you know, Mark recommends his QwikClip for appendix and crossdraw. - OS
  15. I concede y'all's almost inconceivable masculine awesomenosity and I'm putting all the blame on Mikey. - OS
  16. Oh Shoot

    HK P30

I do that with my XD, don't notice anything out of kilter. - OS
  17. Or open carry without one, unlike here in TN. - OS
  18. XD-M series has too many differences to list. Look on Springfield site. Suffice it to say, there is nothing in the XD-M line as small as the XD Sub Compact. - OS
  19. Well, I'm an XD fan, but that is quite a crock, IMNSHO. The butt is the primary concealability factor, not whacking off a whopping .7" diff on barrel length. - OS
  20. No worries, just like TN. - OS
  21. Carrots. (after seeing "Shoot 'Em Up") - OS
  22. Yeah, put the blame on me, will ya? Wimp. - OS
  23. Title caught my eye, since I have Blackhawk .357 and Marlin 1894C. I like shooting them so much that I may have to learn to reload, too! - OS
  24. Oooo, good! If you're not coming, I'll bring my other buddy: - OS
  25. So you're going to join us? - OS
