  1. D.M. Bullard, Galco, Tucker Gunleather Crossbreed looks like they've discontinued them..I tried one, was huge for the purpose. - OS
  2. "We" have? You have a mouse in your pocket? I'll concede it is potentially lethal, and the potentially INcreases as distance DEcreases. It is also certainly less likely to immediately STOP a threat than buckshot, though, and that's what you really want, rather than a gruesomely wounded assailant who can empty a magazine at you before he croaks. Even if he can't see while he's doing it. - OS
  3. I never admitted to more than 2 even after 20, so he must have REALLY been snockered! - OS
  4. Yep, you shore don't hafta go to India to find death from Very Bad People. LiveLeak.com - Two store employess killed in Nashville - OS
  5. Yeah, and ya can't really tell if first shot was lethal or whatever. But one thing is clear, that he DID have time to return fire any number of shots, IF his gun worked. Of course, to be fair, I don't see how anyone can tell from the video for sure if indeed he didn't start with a round in chamber, or whether gun malfed from the gitgo or what. - OS
  6. Only half of us seem to see that glaring irony. The other half seem to think those eight or nine 00 pellets are gonna expand to ten feet wide at home defense ranges. - OS

    SNIPER?

Rats, Sniper: Inside the Crosshairs, isn't airing again in next 14 days. Thanks for the OnDemand mention about the other one, though. - OS

?? I believe his question was why is the TGO form written the way it is. "I am..." instead of "Are you...". Note these are the same questions asked on the 4473, just phrased differently. - OS
  10. Surprised this (as far as I can find) hasn't been posted on TGO... looks like a PERFECT example of why to keep a round chambered, as apparently the fellow (who was killed according to other posts I read) had to attempt to rack slide first, more than once, so maybe there was a malf too, dunno. (click top title bar of box that says "LiveLeak" to play) http://www.liveleak.com/view?i=086_1260862712 - OS
  11. I guess this is all legit, I keep seeing it on other forums, and is generally attributed to this originating thread, can't find any previous one: Shot with a 45-70 - 24hourcampfire Caught my eye, since recent talk of shooting .45-70's out at Norris (which I missed), but my apologies should this turn out to be some sort of hoax... ------------------------ "This guy and a buddy were sighting their rifles in. One of the guns was leaned up against the 4 wheeler he was standing on. The gun started to fall and I'm not sure if his buddy grabbed it, or something on the bike caught the trigger. Either way, he caught a 325 grain .45-70 round right under the collar bone. I think it goes with out being said, how lucky he is to still be here. The big hole around his shoulder blade is where the bullet entered and it traveled under his skin and exited right there on his neck, above his spinal cord! Just goes to show that he truly is LUCKY! The ballistic tip mainly just burned the edges of the skin of the wound that you see in the picture. He's getting better & better every day, last night he was even doing push ups!! He's finally able to use his arm again! Somehow it didn't hit anything major and basically ended up being a really bad flesh wound! It is truly a miracle that he is alive and not paralyzed!" - OS

  13. All depends on how you want to carry, whether you want all leather, kydex, or a hybrid of the two. And how long you want to wait to get one. Top of my head: Galco and Don Hume are two popular "ready to go" for the most part, makers, mostly all leather. My personal fav's are D.M. Bullard (about a month, shown in avatar) and TT Gunleather (6 months). Other quality makers are Mitch Rosen and Milt Sparks. Most popular leather/kydex makers are Crossbreed and Comp-Tac, quickly available. Cut rate similar maker is Kholster. Expect to pay $50 - 100 (or more) for a good product, unless you'd be happy with a low end something like an Uncle Mikes. High Noon is sort of an "in-between" maker, some folks really like their products, I didn't have any luck with one I tried. Just to get you started, hope it helps, and I left out MANY, - OS
  14. Can't find anything around the puter lately, what with all the damn long hair everywhere. - OS
  15. Another good one, and only $20 is the Safariland 123. It also completely hides the mag, which makes it perhaps a little slower to deploy but more discreet, and very secure: - OS
  16. It is, if you are not residents of the same state. Not sure if technically it's legal if you ARE residents of the same state but transaction occurs OUTSIDE of that state. - OS

Individual can ship long gun through USPS to another individual in same state. Individual can ship long gun through USPS to FFL in any state. Individual may not ship handgun through USPS in any circumstance. - OS
  18. Naw, hell, my wit has survived MSDOS and 6 versions of Windows. My one 'Tosh drove me to distraction. - OS
  19. I'll have you know my vision is every bit as good as it was when I was ... umm...er...well, 60, anyway. - OS
  20. I suppose my monitor going blind is just a myth too, huh, Mr. Smarty Pants! - OS
  21. If I were writing TN firearm laws, I would only need an eraser to do it. - OS
  22. Well, YOU can't carry a loaded long gun - only your vehicle is allowed to do that. Even inanimate objects have some rights that we do not. - OS
  23. Keyboard and mouse can grow hair, too. - OS
  24. It means that you do not have to carry your handgun concealed in TN. Many states have a CCP (concealed carry permit), can only carry concealed or can open carry without permit, whatever. In TN, you can ONLY carry, either openly OR concealed, with a permit. That's why it is called a Handgun Carry Permit in TN, rather than a Concealed Carry Permit or somesuch. - OS
