  1. That's really totally twisted ... but quite funny. - OS
  2. Well, it's sort of nifty in a sort of survivalist sort of way. So, I guess it would be totally safe to fire 9x18 in a 9x19 chamber? I see the 9x18 is .01 inch smaller rim. Standard 9mm chamber mind that? Hmmmm??? - OS
  3. Dang, this is like a Friars Roast. I feel honored, in a very left-handed sort of way. - OS
  4. Lordie, THAT sounds ominous! (I won't have bail money). - OS
  5. I assume you mean a booze serving restaurant? If so, yeah, that's the spirit of the statute as seems to be generally interpreted. Presumably, even a school, too. Actually, the way it reads, even if you had a violent felony on your record, you wouldn't be charged with what would otherwise be unlawful carrying of a firearm. If you have to shoot someone in a Federal building, though, would be between you and Uncle Sam rather than state of TN. - OS
  6. Yeah, was gonna mention to peacexxl that we're all just fine and free thinking and accommodating folks all about individual freedom and all like that sort of thing, but that if he happened to be a converted Muslim, he might not want to state that. But I decided not to mention it. - OS
  7. He's been in Congress since '75 and is now 65. He's stolen all he can carry. - OS
  8. 39-17-1322. Defenses. — A person shall not be charged with or convicted of a violation under this part if the person possessed, displayed or employed a handgun in justifiable self-defense or in justifiable defense of another during the commission of a crime in which that person or the other person defended was a victim. "under this part" is generally conceded to be any of the prohibited carry statues (I think). Btw, I'm not even a legal buzzard, let alone an eagle!! Incidentally, all weapons statues at: http://www.michie.com/tennessee/ You want 39:17:13 (frames site, hard to give direct URL for it all) - OS
  9. Coliseum is probably no go, as I guess falls under the "civic center, recreational building" part of park carry law wording. All other buildings that I can think of are legal to carry unless posted. However, the Knoxville City/County building IS posted, for example, if you didn't know. - OS
  10. Something must have changed? People ship ammo all the time, even here on TGO through the classifieds. Though I confess I've never sent any. But having a UPS account, I'd wager if I printed label from online and dropped it off, with ORMD hand printed annotation, it would go. - OS

Marlin 795 and 60 are both fine guns... 795: detachable mag, ten rounds, extra mag cost but quicker reloading 60: tube mag, 14 rounds, no extra mag cost but slower reloading No wood stock option for 795, both models available in stainless also. It's said the 795 can cycle a little quicker than the 60, for whatever that's worth. - OS
  12. As per 2007 census, 459,681 total businesses in TN, that would be some kind of list, even just for retail stores. Only Federal buildings. State, county, and city govt. buildings must post to prohibit carry just like private businesses. Only places that serve alcohol for on site consumption are off limits. Carry in state parks legal for some time now as per state law. National parks still prohibited until late Feb as per federal law. WalMarts and McDonalds are not posted. HTH some, - OS
  13. They always speak highly of you, but then whales are nicer than most people. We NEED the whales, though - didn't we learn anything from Star Trek IV or remake of Day the Earth Stood Still? - OS

Awesome buy on a fine gun. - OS
  15. Sell it to David Duke? Donate it to Pulaski Tourist Board? Trivia: did y'all know that the KKK state plaque on the building in Pulaski where KKK started is bolted to the wall BLANK SIDE OUT? Really. - OS
  16. Ah, good to know...I (obviously) had no idea Galco did that sort of thing. That might be just the ticket for OP then, since they make some nice shoulder rigs. - OS
  17. Just putting myself in that position,if you can't find one, buy the largest leather one you can find and then visit a leatherworker for custom additions to some of the straps. Some shoe repair places can do creditable work on a variety of leather products too. Or approach a smaller shoulder holster maker directly; wouldn't work with a biggie like Galco, but might with smaller outfits like HighNoon, off top of my head. - OS
  18. That's good news, hope that clears it up. Will look for your report. We both concluded it was a pretty esoteric problem, since we both knew from simple searching that it wasn't a real Kahr "known issue", like the fairly widespread barrel peening of some previous runs. As to the whippersnappery regarding the elderly, I have only this to say to you all: um...er...I forgot what I was saying.. - OS
  19. Correctamundo, skimmed thread too fast. Mea culpa. regards, - OS
  20. Geez, did I strike a nerve, whippersnapper? Lighten up, sorry to get your Archangel BDUs in a wad. I have nothing against modern polymers in firearm products, but I do draw the line at knives. 'Course, I draw the line at ProMag period, since I think the owner should be in prison for ripping each newbie off that buys his mags. - OS
  21. Nope. It's not an issue, just a characteristic. Especially tight now that the flush mags hold 13 rounds instead of 10. Just push up on mag as you press mag release. How often you need to drop a full mag anyway? Most important is that it releases well on an EMPTY mag, which it does. A plus: mag doesn't rattle like some guns. - OS
  22. Well, remember, once you are home, you are operating under the same "rules" as anyone else, permit or not. Ultimately, whether sober, buzzed, or dead drunk, it always comes down to whether a reasonable person would believe you to be in fear of your life or serious injury. And of course, with TN's "castle doctrine", the very fact that someone forcibly enters your domicile assumes that you are. And unlike in public, carrying with a HCP, having a gun in your home while drinking is not an offense, as it would be carrying your heater in public. - OS
  23. TopGlock.com: Glock Magazine Accessories Very bottom of page, seems to be just what you're after. - OS
  24. The Chicago case won't affect carry one bit. It's only about the right to OWN a handgun. Carry will still be banned, no matter what, just as it is in D.C. It also won't change the FOID hoops you have to jump through to simply own a firearm of any kind in Illinois, either. - OS
  25. Forgot to mention, "After Armageddon" is on again at midnight for any of you night owls. - OS
