  1. Avatar? Suntzu doesn't use no steenking avatar. - OS
  2. All plenty valid. Mainly, it's hard to say whether this stuff was a screenplay logic lapse, or a clumsy on purpose omission just to make the point. - OS
  3. Yah, I've fanned mine through a cylinder's worth a couple of times, just to have done it. I don't necessarily see how it would damage it, as all the same things must happen at the same time, but the sight is in the way, no way to do it effectively, gloved hand or not. - OS
  4. You're getting a thing for most guns. You haven't shot its long brother yet, though, the Marlin .357. - OS
  5. I am not a lawyer. I'm not sure a lawyer could actually answer that question regarding that venue with any degree of confidence. - OS
  6. I've got the .357/9mm. Yeah, the rimless cartridge just slides in flush, no moon clips. It may be my favorite pistola. - OS
  7. Of course. - OS
  8. David would have to confirm, but seems it's been reduced down to that in the last 6 or 8 months? - OS
  9. Only the last 500. Same if using search for all from any username. - OS

  12. Well, there's ultimately no guarantee of preventing all infections in a wound, large or small, with alcohol or anything else. People die daily from staph and strep even with the best antibiotics medicines have. Thought that part was a good reminder that many of the small things we don't think much about now would become major factors in EOTWAWKI. Dental problems are another. Back in Woodland Period, oral infections were a common killer right up there with childbirth and warfare for native Americans. I agree with what seemed to be idiotic behavior on their parts re not picking up guns and whatnot, but then again, in the early shock period of a big breakdown, folks aren't exactly going to be thinking on all cylinders, especially those who have no previous experience with firearms or even a minimal mindset regarding physical aggression. 'Course, screenwriter could have merely dropped the continuity ball, too. - OS
  13. Not by the wording on the warranty. But in actual practice, yes. - OS
  14. First time I've heard THAT. The common flaw is that you have to manually pull the dang thing back up each time to load the next round, it doesn't spring up and open. Hence my owning a UPLula also. - OS
  15. Do it see it legally posted? Of course, it's a city park, too, and carry is banned by ordinance in city parks. Of course of course, there's an out for that under state statute, but then again, when city chooses to fall back on old city ordinance, the state statute doesn't apply. So since there is no out for gun shows on city recreational property in municipal code, Knoxville is breaking its own ordinance. Clear? - OS
  16. Far from an expert here, but a pump shotgun with absolutely NO markings? Used magnifying glass/loupe? Maybe need to use some Hoppes with Scotch Brite pad or similar and look closely again? Of course the Ted Williams you can google for a good bit of info right off. Unless you see something obviously wrong with it, don't see why it wouldn't be fine to use for whatever. Make sure you only use whatever length shells it's chambered for, likely only 2.75", but I don't know that right off the bat. - OS

    Revolver Jam

Well, if case is malformed, it was same when it was first loaded. How did it go into cylinder chamber easily in the first place, allowing shots fired and rotation, but only bind afterward, is what I can't quite get? - OS

    Revolver Jam

Oh, it's lighter rather than heavy, couldn't remember. Downloadable manual now just gives a general warning about "unseating", which was what I was mentioning (I believe the last sentence addresses what you mention): "AMMUNITION SELEC-TIONFOR Ti, Sc& PDSeries REVOLVERS Before placing any of these reduced weight revolvers into service, perform the following test to determine the suitability of the ammunition you intend to use. At a gun range or other suitable and safe location, prepare your revolver for firing by fully loading its cylinder with the ammunition to be tested. While pointing the firearm in a safe direction, fire all but the last round. Remove the empty casings and the last loaded round from the revolverʼs cylinder. Carefully inspect the loaded round to determine if its bullet has started to unseat (move forward) from its casing.(Figure 2) If it has, you should not use the tested ammunition in your revolver. Choose another projectile weight or brand of ammunition and repeat this test until you find one that DOES NOT UNSEAT under these test conditions. When you are finished, fully unload your revolver and secure it safely. CAUTION: Do not use Magnum loadings with bullet weights of less than 120 grains - This will reduce the possibility of premature erosion in titanium alloy cylinders." - OS

    Revolver Jam

So, this was in the Air Weight? It's a known issue in them, more with .357 and .38 +p, and usually in heavy bullet weights (I believe SW has something in the manual about not using over 125 gr bullets or something). Frame doesn't absorb enough of the recoil, so unfired bullet can be driven too far out of the casing and jam. Of course any weight bullet with a too loose crimp would be susceptible in any weight revolver, too, would seem to me. - OS
  20. Good point. Although you're an idiot if you prefer Glock over XD. - OS
  21. JFYI, it also has groups ("clubs") for most all brand guns. Matter of fact, until Kahr opened their own forum, the Kahr Club on GT was the biggest Kahr specific group I found. But TGO is the bomb. - OS

  25. You've hinted twice that parts of your union deductions that you have no say over go to federal political causes. You're not required to explain, of course, and it's even become a little off topic, but since you've brought it up ... ? - OS
