Leather IWB holster for light & spare mag
Oh Shoot replied to dwcz's topic in Firearms Gear and Accessories
Hey dwcz, ever do Google Image search? Sometimes it's better than the normal one. I see two or three right on first page: mag and light holster - Google Search Again, IWB is rare, but you might approach some of the makers you find here. - OS -
Leather IWB holster for light & spare mag
Oh Shoot replied to dwcz's topic in Firearms Gear and Accessories
Back when I was experimenting, I bought one to try. It was freaking huge rig just to carry a mag. I politely sent it back for refund. - OS -
It's grayer than that. See above statute verbatim. "under the influence" is not defined, like it is for DUI. Cop's call. Then judge's call if cop charges you. Unless you have to blow and reach .08 or whatever it is for DUI, in which case you're double hosed, I'd say. I have yet to see a real test case on this. The only zero tolerance in the gun statues was in the carry in boozy restaurants, where it stipulated no drinking at all. Although a penalty was not specified, so maybe they'd use the above mentioned statute for that. Another gray area, no test cases. TCA is so clear, eh? - OS

If you happen to be a real deadeye, the Mark III's are probably a little more accurate than the Single Six, due to the SS's barrel being necessarily bored for the .22 mag rather than the .22LR. The Bearcat is .22LR only. Just like my Blackhawk .357/9mm is technically more accurate with the .357 than the 9mm. Of course, I can't tell the diff. - OS

Bronk's right, the Nemesis is a good all around and inexpensive solution for any pocket sized semi or revolver. I've used one myself, they're very comfy: Want something fancier? My man David Bullard makes a nifty leather one, has wallet panel that can be used on either side for back pockets, or removed for left or right front pocket: JeffSig is a TGOer who sells something similar: www.SigPower.com Several folks swear by the Kydex ones made right here in E. TN by Aholster: Certainly, Kydex is thin, and thin is good in a pocket. Even though I'm a leather holster freak in general, when I carry my PM9, it's in a Stellar Rigs Kydex model: And of course, many other makers. - OS

Leather IWB holster for light & spare mag
Oh Shoot replied to dwcz's topic in Firearms Gear and Accessories
That's strange, since they already sold both single and double ones up till maybe 6 months ago. - OS -
Maybe. 'Bout half an inch longer in both directions, and I don't know if that includes the mag, which is not flush fitting. You lose a round to the PM9, too. The PM9 is the limit I'm willing to pocket, and I don't wear snug pants either. - OS
-
Wow, what IS larger in semi-auto? .44 mag, .50AE ? Well, ya know, PM9 is 6+1. Maybe you can divert them with 9mm long enough to get to your Desert Eagle! - OS

Sold it on eBay, was Ghost 2003 w/ XP update. I've been happy enough with a freebie program for a number of years now: DriveImage XML. - OS

Symantec (Norton) Ghost disk cloning/backup program. I used it for years, then it hosed MBR (Master Boot Record) on my then new XP Home machine. Twice. - OS

Schedule of Bills being considered 2/17/10

Wonder if this is Voldemort inspired? - OS -
If Palin were ugly or likey even just 20 years older, she wouldn't have a fraction of the following she does now, and she'd never have been tagged as McCain's running mate in the first place. Her brain is not the reason for the American Idol type celeb support she garners. - OS

Me either, since it doesn't mention what part of 39-17-13 is purports to amend. I'd love to carry a Voyager 6" instead of my 4", if this would allow it. - OS -

Leather IWB holster for light & spare mag
Oh Shoot replied to dwcz's topic in Firearms Gear and Accessories
Well, here's one from TT Gunleather. I use one of his holsters for my XD SC. Highly recommended. Might take 6 months to get, and not cheap, but it'll be super, I'm sure, but it's OWB, not IWB. OWB Mag Light combo Holder Googling isn't real helpful on narrowing this type product down, but there are quite a few makers of these in OWB, but finding one in IWB may be futile, dunno. You'll just have to use some of the holster lists found on various gun sites and spend some time. DefensiveCarry keeps a huge linked list as a sticky on there somewhere. I use a cheapie pocket double mag holster from WRB. Unfortunately, they've quit making the larger sized one for double stack mags: I used to keep mag + light in it, now keep mag + multi-tool, with a smaller Coast Lenser flashlight tucked in corner of my pocket butted against the soft carrier, stays in place nicely. Incidentally, I tried one of Crossbreed's IWB mag holder, but found that two IWB holsters in my waistband wasn't comfy at all, and the Crossbreed was huge for the purpose, sent it back. They no longer offer them anyway, and didn't have one for flashlight. Btw, David (Bullard) used to make one, OWB only best I remember, but I'd say he gave it up because there's such a bewildering array of flashlights out there. Another way to go, IF you can find some double mag carriers, is just to find an IWB one (which is rare) and simply use one of the mag slots for the flashlight, even though it's not exactly made for it. Of course, a cheapo nylon one would work for that, lots of those out there, with flaps that cover the mags, but all I've seen are OWB for belt. Also, there are a number of places that make OWB or paddle combos in Kydex, like Fobus, but leather ones are more rare. Good luck with the search, - OS -
Yeah, it's been a real hassle pissing on every other tree to mark territory all my life, that's for sure. - OS

Exactly how I've housebroken every dog I've had. Except the nose goes right in there. Then be sure and compliment them the first few times you're outside with them and they do the biz. It works, usually first time on females, males might take 2 or 3 times. Even worked on the three cats I've had. - OS

Just used "Glock 22". Result: Showed only "Glock" as key word used, with notation: "The following words are either very common, too long, or too short and were not included in your search: 22" - OS

Here is an explanation of why not to shoot foster (rifled) slugs in an overbored barrel that seems knowledgeable. It uses Mossberg as example. Note it's not that the slug can "turn". Also, even if safety wasn't a concern, accuracy would be terrible. ----------- "Foster slug dangerous in overbore! Mossberg 835 overbore barrels are near 10 gauge in the overbore ahead of the chamber. Foster slugs are hollow based pure lead nose heavy thimbles. No wad is capable of expanding to seal such an extreme overbore. ( .775 vs .730 ) Gas blow by is normal for this shotgun and contributes to a lower felt recoil. If propellant gas gets into the hollow base of a foster type slug, the expanding lead may blow through leaving a lead ring in the barrel. Such a lead ring constitutes a barrel obstruction that can cause a burst barrel with the next shot fired!" ---------------- I looked at Mossberg manual online, and it does indeed state: "835® models are designated to fre 12 gauge 2-3/4â€, 3â€, or 3-1/2†factory loaded ammunition. Do not fre slugs of any type (single projectile ammunition) through the overbored 835 Accu-Mag barrel. This barrel is designated to shoot lead or steel pellet shot loads only. Use only 835 barrels designated specifcally for slug shooting." - OS

Yow!² There must be a humor impairment contagion going around. I thought "spelling felon" would make the jocularity clear, didn't think a smiley was necessary. I know Bronker some, and there's generally a repartee tendency between us; sorry, Bronk if you thought it was nasty, since you seemed to snap at me for real. But I don't know you at all, Baddawg865. Fortunately. - OS
