  1. Oh horse pucky. I carry a multi-tool I got when I first joined NRA. Yep, it's made in China. Carry a gun made in Croatia. Budweiser and Miller aren't even American owned. Pick battles that could mean something. I see you're not a NRA member. I guess it's because they give out Chinese hats? You don't contribute to TGO either, though, so I guess that's just the way you roll. Oh yeah, throw away that 'puter you're using. - OS
  2. Gentlemen, thread title is "Let's SEE Your Blades", eh? - OS
  3. So far, none of us have ever found a case of a HCP holder being arrested for this (or for carrying in posted business). Since you're a LEO and especially since you said "You are not going to find a case where BAC was checked" regarding HCP carry while intoxicated, it sounded as if you had personal experience on the matter. So possibility of your having arrested someone for it seemed logically "implied" to me. Sorry you took it as something to be defensive about. - OS
  4. I don't understand your evasion in answering my simple questions, but so be it. - OS
  5. ??? None of my three questions had anything to do with whether a BAC or blood sample was used. - OS
  6. Presbyterian women have some special affinity for flavored beer? Who knew? - OS
  7. Glad you finally got it, David. Mine took six months also, been wearing mine daily about 11 months now. Razorblade, mine was about $90 delivered, a very fair price methinks. I've posted them before, but here are pix again; has held up well, looks little different from when I took these back when, and I've worn it daily, including lots of long hot sweaty walks with no undershirt. - OS EDIT: I looked back at pic dates, these were Nov 09, so this is AFTER a long hot summer of daily sweat.
  8. Dayton. Scopes. Darwin. Alpha7. I hope I don't get sued. - OS

Hopefully she will never have to clear a jam. Unlikely in an XD, but... - OS
  10. Happened a year ago, and discussed here, but... Yes, Kahr is drop safe. Guy tried to catch it or something, or squeezed it off with belly fat/shirttail while carrying in less than adequate holster, or .. who knows. - OS
  11. It's absurd to think one could buy only US made products anymore; in many cases, they simply don't exist, or if they do, cost too much in relation to income, or cost too much investment in time to find. Even food. Try to find "American" sardines, herring, smoked oysters, etc, just to mention a few items in my pantry. I find it interesting that 75% of Americans have been dependent on one particular foreign product for a couple hundred years: yep, coffee. Throw in another foreign product, tea, and you cover maybe 90% of us. Oh yeah, do I need to mention oil? I thought not. - OS

Sounds like she's having no trouble pulling the trigger. I can't quite fathom making it lighter for a carry gun. Perhaps more important: can she rack it? - OS
  13. They've run the 92's up to like 80,000 rounds without failure in tests with hot military ball ammo. If it were my choice, I know which way I'd go. Haven't shot the Taurus, probably is fine, but have shot the Beretta 92FS and it is very very slick, even gentle, feels about like shooting .22 magnum. - OS
  14. So, you've made arrests for carrying while under the influence? What was the court sentence? Does the carry division in Dept. of Safety get notified of conviction? - OS
  15. Thread not long ago.. http://www.tngunowners.com/forums/ammunition-reloading/32707-shipping-ammo-out-state.html Try to cut through the chaff. (just read mine, and Verbal Kint's) - OS
  16. Yeah, Becker is still in action, under Ka-Bar, though he doesn't make that knife anymore. Has his own manufacturing space within Ka-Bar's factory, imprints say "BK&T Ka-Bar" I've got the BK7, helluva knife, comes with a BK13 with it's own place in sheath (which is nifty, but rattles): - OS
  17. Yep, agree with you and FallGuy on that exactly. Just another in the (mostly) gray areas in the weapons laws. Heck, you can be arrested for DUI even if you blow below the limit you know. And a suit for false arrest won't go anywhere. Cops and judges have an incredible amount of discretionary power, especially within the weapons statutes. It's amazing to me that there haven't been more arrests for carrying in what I'd call non-compliant posted places, carrying under the influence, and others, so that maybe we'd at least see some case law precedents. Or something to appeal. Or something. - OS
  18. Read your quotes. You were both opining about alcohol not being mentioned in statute. Hence MY comment. - OS
  19. Wow guys, all you have to do is READ the thang, ya know? 39-17-1321. Possession of handgun while under influence — Penalty. — (a) Notwithstanding whether a person has a permit issued pursuant to § 39-17-1315 or § 39-17-1351, it is an offense for a person to possess a handgun while under the influence of alcohol or any controlled substance. - OS
  20. Statue clearly says you wouldn't be charged with any of the various handgun carry violations. - OS

    help on mini 14

Probably a return spring or whatever resets the trigger on sear, something like that would be my WAG. Heck, they could've put in wrong firing pin and it's simply binding, for all I know. If you want to pin it down, if it's common prob, or even rare, perfectunion.com would be where I'd ask first in the mini 14 category. Might even be in one of the stickies there. Assuming somebody here doesn't step up pretty soon. - OS

Take it back to gun shop and have them get it right. Or am I missing something here? - OS
  23. Well, if you paid the prices I see, can understand how you are shaken. - OS
  24. Let me google that for you
  25. Well...hmmm.. Is the first one Bear AND Son? Baby Bowie, rather than Baby Buck? - OS
