  1. I find the service a little too large for me (the grip). But D.M. Bullard makes nice one (avatar), which I used for a good while with my subbie. Takes about 8 weeks to get now. I've switched to a TT Gunleather, but that takes 6 months. If you like Kydex okay, of course the Mtac from Comp-Tac or the Crossbreed Supertuck are popular choices, and can be had quite quickly. - OS
  2. Yeah, and it stays expensive. I don't think it's worth it, either. - OS
  3. What else is in there 'cept the RemOil? Some sort of solvent? - OS
  4. Rem Oil of course, is not designed to clean, but rather to lubricate and protect. Though aj81557 dissed it, I've found Hoppes 9 and Rem Oil to be sufficient for all my guns, though I usually use CLP instead of the Rem Oil. Actually, there's no reason that motor oil wouldn't be adequate, and indeed many do advocate Mobil One synthetic exclusively. Actually, I used to mainly use the Gun Blast stuff from Birchwood Casey on everything but the bore for cleaning, but can't easily find anything but the kind that has acetone in it lately. Since I melted a Butler Creek magazine with that stuff, I've avoided it. - OS
  5. And no holster allowed, of course. - OS
  6. So is Mike's! Well, maybe half. Yep, I believe there's a secret wrapped in the enigma. Yeah, but I'm retired, built-in excuse. Just now saw this thread, as Off Topic is generally the last place I waste time. Top Posters as of right now: - OS
  7. I reckon anything's possible. So ADAM, what's the story? - OS

    shotgun question

2nd shot might well be his. And the 3rd, 4th, 5th.... - OS
  9. Best we can do, since we can't have an 11 round 870 shotgun like you. - OS
  10. Sadly, they've quit distributing that. Only the new tacticool stock now. - OS
  11. AFAIK, that's his only accurate statement, as far as having in your home is concerned. - OS
  12. Magazines are the only weak point of Hi-Point carbines. They get bent easily as they are pretty thin gauge metal. Almost all probs with running the rifle are mag related. And of course, only 10 rounds. The 15 round ProMags are even worse. - OS
  13. You are a shining beacon for all us Hi-Point owners. - OS
  14. worked for me ... Footage of O, Hildebeest, Reid, other Dems ranting about same type "rules" ramrodding during W's admin as they want to do now. - OS
  15. Tend to agree. He may be ultimately unwise, but he's not terminally stupid either. I'd wager that in his heart of hearts, he has a keen sense that his entire presidency could crash and burn. I'd also postulate that history's view of his presidency is as important to him as the actual commonweal of the populace. I think some of O's arrogance is being tempered by the possibility that history may see Jimmy Carter as George Washington in comparison to his own tenure. - OS
  16. Great article. One GLARING error: "Of the 49 states that permit concealed carry (only Wisconsin does not permit its citizens to carry a concealed weapon, plus the District of Columbia)" How could author leave out Illinois, especially with the SCOTUS-Chicago thing in full bloom? (even though that's not about carry, I know). - OS

    shotgun question

Just what you want, an aggressor with a gruesome and perhaps fatal wound, but still standing with a gun in his hand. - OS
  18. I have 2 or 3 4" fixed blades that I've actually bought with idea of carrying, but the sheaths just aren't deployment friendly. - OS
  19. Mikey! They have finally put the fabled unicorn of vapor guns, the .45 carbine on product page as: "Hi-Point's 45 Caliber Carbine is expected to be available in May 2010" This is the first time they've ever officially mentioned it, so maybe it's finally really gonna happen. Better reconsider dumping any of the .45 handguns, you may want to be all .45 for SHTF! - OS
  20. You still blew it. Second link points to "hipointalk.net.../my" The two main Hi-Point sites are: Official company site: Welcome to Hi-Point Firearms Official online parts/accessories: Hi-Point Firearms.net - Home Official company forum: HiPoint Firearms Forums (6,000 members) Your site that you have yet to get right: HiPointTalk • Index page (600 members) - OS
  21. C'mon...an egghead prof or two has opined regarding courts vs legislature, but that's all. The AG's office said it would file an appeal so obviously it feels it's binding. Did it actually file the appeal? HCP holders had best consider the court injunction binding, too, unless someone wants to be a high profile and expensive test case. The legislature obviously does, otherwise it wouldn't be working to amend the statute. - OS
  22. What's with the kneeling in the bucket of ice behavior? - OS
  23. News to me, and to every other vendor that ships ammunition. I admit those Priority flat rate boxes would sure be handy for it, but ammunition just is NOT allowed through USPS. - OS
  24. So you're a cop, huh? Right. - OS
