  1. Ah, it's my main carry piece. Here's my BUG: Yeah, looks just like a penis, only smaller. Has always worked for me. - OS
  2. Trigger job shouldn't matter with "fanning", since it just stays pulled. Good luck with fanning that puppy with that adjustable sight sticking out. I've done my Blackhawk .357 a few times, just to say I have, but the sight makes it pretty impractical. All conventional wisdom states all kinds of reasons why it's hard on the gun's innards, too. - OS
  3. Ruger's been making .45ACP and 9mm revolvers for a long time! - OS
  4. OK, I give you that. As if that could do anything except cause one grief, especially carried in your hand. Seems there was a recent big ado about doing just that over near Nashville. - OS
  5. Well, duh. My God! The indignity! Quick! (or maybe Kwik!) Cover all tracks, deny everything! No truth must be found here! Are you hoping to be a gummit spook? - OS
  6. see Forum Support. Ministry of Truth revised history. - OS
  7. No, I couldn't care less about post total; if anything, it's a little embarrassing actually, to publicly show how little real life I have. - OS
  8. Why is it necessary to change history? Very Russian/1984ish, this erasing traces of certain individuals. - OS
  9. Ummm....??? - OS
  10. Didn't sound like exactly same symptoms to me, Bronk, but close enough thought I'd mention it in thread. - OS
  11. Yep, "intent to go armed", as mentioned in the statute, seems quite gray to me in relation to a knife (actually in relation to a gun also). And a 4" folder wouldn't be thought of the same in a grammar school, high school, or college, just because of the relative ages of the students. The whole concept of "intent to go armed" is gray to me. Most here claim that as far a firearm, it's being loaded makes it "intent to go armed". However, it's also illegal to carry an UNloaded handgun without permit, so I've not ever been completely satisfied with that definition. So how does on carry an otherwise legal knife in two ways, one way "normally" and one way "with intent to go armed"? - OS
  12. While your risk of being charged if seen is likely much less, knives are just as illegal as guns as per the statute. - OS
  13. 3rd Creek Greenway from Earth Fare to Tyson Park to Neyland Drive and back is 7.5 mi. Probably see fewer people than on the most accessible trails in Smokies. - OS
  14. But not the silicone spray lube, eh? - OS
  15. "Sec 1 allows for carry only in places that are licensed by the ABC as restaurants" I thought this POS bill had been tabled or modified. Unless ABC establishments are required to notify on the outside door, seems still very convoluted. What happened to the one to simply make a general exception to 39-17- 1305? - OS
  16. Cries for a long mag, though. WJH, you got any Butler Creek Steel Lips among those you've tried? If so, get silicone spray lube, give em a 3 second blast up through little hole in bottom of mag, shake mag, give another blast, shake well, let dry. Mine run pretty much 100% this way with most any load. - OS
  17. A knife with a safety and a gun without one. Ironic. - OS
  18. We prefer the term "inexpensive". - OS
  19. I think they tune the extractor just FOR shooting sideways. - OS
  20. Yeah, since my comment shows there, it was because: 1. opening fire at an oncoming vehicle does NOT likely stop it from killing you. Very iffy about even hitting a target through a windshield on short notice in the first place. 2. One would best spend that second or three getting the frig out of the way! 3. Who knows what's going in that vehicle? Some guy could have just had a heart attack or stroke. You wouldn't know the diff until the vehicle left the scene or until a passenger or an autopsy revealed that you are now guilty of murder or manslaughter for shooting someone whose crime was having a medical emergency. 4. Etc, but enough. I wouldn't have even said anything, as we have several members who consistently profess the "kill them quick, kill them all, and let God sort them out" philosophy; but I just thought it was particularly egregious advice coming from a (supposed) LEO. - OS
  21. Ah, but the svelte and demure C9 has delicate and graceful lines: It holds a stunning 8+1 and weighs significantly less than a Buick. - OS
  22. Plus shipping, unless you bought something else. You'll almost certainly be disappointed. It's so dated, it's like a lecture from Sgt. Friday. On the plus side, you can read it in about 2 hours tops. - OS
  23. I've seen really lovely stuff come out of Little Bear. I hope you're going to wear it OWB some, otherwise the looks are wasted. What gets me is the accent trim, on the BACK of the bodyguard part. - OS
  24. What about cache, too? At any rate, I've experienced any number of 30-45 sec "hangs" (delays) today. Was really pronounced mid afternoon when I first visited. (using FireFox) - OS
  25. This is the new ugly. - OS
