Mike, I pay about $25/month for little red and about $20/month for big blue. With collision. Course, if it costs more than probably about 5 or 7 grand to fix either of them, they'd be considered totaled. - OS

Maybe it IS a meteorite. Does a magnet stick to it? - OS

Doesn't find me either. Although whitepages.com still does, even though I haven't had a landline for a couple of years or more. - OS

Video suffers somewhat at 1 frame every ten seconds. The tin can with string really sucks for audio reception, too. - OS

You probably won't find a 9mm round that an XD won't reliably eat. The 115/124/147 grain debate is a long time ongoing one. I've been convinced that the 124 grain +p HP is the sweet spot, but any weight quality hollowpoint should serve nicely for adequate self defense purposes. I haven't looked in a while, but Georgia Ammo loaded the Gold Dot HP bullet in various weights for a good while. I stashed 500 of the 124 +p, but still have a small stash of the Golden Saber 124+p that I stoke all my 9mm pistols with currently. - OS

You're deeply disturbed, Bronk, truly twisted! Not that that's a bad thing, but ..... - OS

Perhaps they "consider" that whole Justice Bldg. a courtroom, I don't know. Perhaps they just do it "because they can". You could probably make a stink if it's that important to you. Or at least talk to the city attorney and find their point of view; you might make them have to post a conforming sign (and maybe become a Person Of Interest, like Kwik .) But seriously, the TN Statutes do NOT make police stations off limits, or "justice centers". Matter of fact, I've carried in the only police station I've had occasion to frequent in the last couple of years. The Knoxville City/County Building, which houses everything here, IS posted; you can't even carry a legal pocketknife in there. - OS

I thought my ears were burning for some friggin reason... I'm in 'Nooga for the week, on dialup, so don't necessarily open Show and Tell threads since it takes so long to see pictures.. And lucky for youse guys, I don't have my cam with me, otherwise I'd post an Oh Shoot nekkid centerfold! - OS

Only Federal Buildings are off limits and exempt from posting. All other City, Country, or State buildings must post. You can't carry into a courtroom while court is in session, but you can carry in the building that houses the courtroom, unless posted, or unless it is a federal building, housing federal courtrooms. - OS

Well, rats, I can't help this weekend... I'm down 'Nooga w/ my Mom through Easter Sunday.... - OS

It's Class A 'meanor doing it in "public", which is just about anywhere you're likely to get popped except your own car. - OS -

There's only ever been two theater 3D formats, the crummy red/blue or red/green stuff way back when, or the polarized format like Avatar, et.al., which has been used off and on for 40 years. The screen/glasses tech has remained the same, just that the cameras and projection equipment tech has improved. Of course, with Avatar, since 90% of everything was entirely CGI generated, all the double camera technique shifts were handled directly on 'puter, with even finer perspective and distance control possible than directly through double lens systems, and of course more easily viewed and tweaked for final output. I was merely thinking you could keep a pair of the glasses from a showing and reuse them, if they let you slide on the extra few bucks for the glasses...I know the price was "itemized" at the theater I went to. - OS

Well, not knowing particulars of auction, if you set first bid quite high, the others may have seen it and given up when the other guy bid. Or not. Some may have set one of the auto bidders to whack at it automatically. No way to know, especially since I don't know particulars of the auction, or anything about paint ball guns either. All you can do is relist...one things pretty sure, if you only wind up with the one now canceled bid, starting price likely too high to item in and of itself, or too high to get enough folks interested to get the bid phenomenon rolling. I assume you did research on completed auctions for same/similar gun to get an idea of price to begin with... - OS

Will ticket office let you slide on the glasses fee if you have your own? I could probably Google to find out, but ..... - OS

For most items, nobody's found it. Your own website and Craig's List can do well for you, but only on certain items that you have no particular time frame on. But eBay, for all its faults, is the 800 lb gorilla. There isn't even a 200 lb. gorilla to compete. - OS
-
He the only bidder? Maybe you'll be surprised...if item is worth it, most all auctions have all the action in last 5 min. - OS
-
It's not unusual at all. If you do much selling on eBay, folks cancel bids frequently. Although if they do much of it, they can get NARU'd. Trouble here is that bidder can't cancel his own bid this close to end of auction. Also, if guy "wins" auction, he can neg seller, whether justified or not, and unlikely eBay will remove it, they've really become anal about that. Seller can NOT neg buyer, period,so you don't have any revenge power. - OS
-
Forget that response, I typed in hurry, skimming your post. Read my revised post, totally misunderstood your prob. Yes, cancel bid (if you can). - OS
-
Nope. Sellers can NOT leave negative feedback for buyers anymore, period, as of a year and a half back or longer. Can only put in Non Paying Bidder Complaint to recover fees. Bidder can leave seller neg, though, even if he didn't pay for item! - OS
-
oops, answered too quick. Sure, I'd cancel his bid. I've done it many times, don't even care what reason the bidder gives. No sense just getting into a hassle AFTER the auction. Actually, I forget, CAN seller still cancel bid in the last hour? I know bidder can't. - OS

I don't necessarily have a prob with a national ID card, myself, even one with fingerprints on it, IF it were only used FOR ID. Of course, the prob is how do you ensure that the card doesn't become an information transmitter to a database with a complete inventory of everything you do in life, from shopping lists, financial transaction record, GPS locater, etc. Then again, gee whiz, as long as you aren't doing anything illegal, what's the harm, eh? - OS

Nah, Strick, they didn't care if the glasses were returned or not. The local theaters do NOT repackage them. Yeah, I saw it at Winnsong in 'Nooga, nobody cared if you keep the glasses or not...there is no "theft strip" on them. The extra fee you pay covers the cost of each pair. There were kids wearing them, freaking around, after the show, walking out with them, etc. (which will simply give you a headache in the real world, since they are polarized at 45 degree angles to each other). I assure you, if it were important for them to recover them, they'd have staff stationed at the individual theater exits to make sure you dropped them off. Because that's what we did at UT, since we couldn't afford to have a new pair for each person for all the shows. Our audiences were 250-300 or so, and we'd have to toss a handful of pairs per show, and replace them. We even had characters in the show mentioning to please turn them in undamaged, etc. - OS
