  2. Why an Irishman? If anything, a Scot would fit better, Scotland being considered pretty much the birth of golf. Though, it's just as funny (or not) with just "a guy". (it's funnier to actual golfers). - OS

    Is it illegal?

Ah, okay. That's okay that you don't know, then, unless you wanted to try a citizen's arrest. Not any more, if they were. I'd say the "knife over 4 inches" and "any other implement for infliction of serious bodily injury or death that has no common lawful purpose" must cover the sword thing these days. Clubs are still specifically mentioned. - OS
  4. Yeah, according to law, you can even drink while carrying in that situation. You just can't get "under the influence", however whoever in authority might define that. - OS

    Is it illegal?

Wow. Are you still a LEO? Switchblade is only forbidden knife in prohibited weapons statute. Only mention of "dirks, daggers, etc" is per carry on school grounds statute. - OS
  6. You don't have to. You only have to look for exactly compliant signs. - OS
  7. Oh Shoot

    Is it illegal?

Correct, as far as I know, so that one would be significantly illegal (looks like way more than 1/16" back toward guard). Certainly, most all knife manufacturers measure their blades from exposed area, not just sharpened part. Daggers are not illegal, even if they have both edges sharpened, except on school property (assuming 4" or under). But not sure why they are mentioned specifically in the school weapons statute along with hawkbills and whatever else, since all knives are forbidden period. - OS
  8. Yeah, I carry GS in 9mm and have found that they are quite resistant to bullet setback, too, from being chambered 6 or 8 times, anyway. - OS
  9. There's actually a tidbit of interesting news in there: "Although Tennessee code does not define bars, there are dozens of restaurants across the state that do not meet the minimum food service requirement. In response, establishments are paying a monthly fine to the state’s Alcoholic Beverage Commission." I find that interesting. So rather than shut them down for disobeying the law, they just let them pay monthly fine - sounds very much like monthly protection money for authorities to look the other way, to me. I don't know how much it is, but it's obviously low enough for the owners to pay and still make a profit that they wouldn't if they couldn't sell liquor by the drink. Sounds like how biz is done in NYC, except (supposedly) the monthly sop isn't going into anyone's individual pocket. - OS
  10. I honestly don't know if that can be tweaked, or at least tweaked without going back through committee, or what. - OS
  11. Well, this sort of does that. ALL "less than 50% food sales" places that sell liquor, wine, or beer, will have to post the exactly defined sign. While it also allows ANY other "more than 50% food sales" to also post the exactly defined sign. Matter of fact, the new sign will be mandated for ALL businesses, not just those that sell booze, as it amends the "certain meetings" statute also, as I understand it. - OS
  12. It's in the Hi-Point manual you're supposed to shoot it that way! Has extra strong ejector just made for the Gangsta Stance. - OS
  13. Wait and see if this doesn't shake up the TN Beverage Control sector, or whatever it's called, down the road. Since all the "liquor bars" now have "restaurant" licenses, apparently in non-compliance with the existing, and not enforced, rules. - OS
  14. To send to floor of Senate. Done. They're finished with it in committee. They COULD have actually passed the bill with amendments and STILL have tabled it, keeping it from being heard in Senate, hence the last vote to send it. - OS
  15. Yeah, gag me with a backhoe. NOW, they're talking about enforcement of the business to post if they are a "bar". Okay, bill goes to Senate floor. - OS
  16. Yeah, it will. Now voting on bill itself, with the amendment in it: Passes 17/13, one abstain. Good and bad. - OS
  17. Voting on amendment itself now, since Naifeh was able to cut off discussion: Amendment PASSES. I think that's bad. - OS
  18. They didn't mention any penalty for the businesses, if they want to lie. Which many will want to, I'd say, since this might nuke their "restaurant" license down the road, if TN changes the rules on giving out licenses. Yow, amendment was not tabled. - OS
  19. As I understand it, they almost nuked the exact signage requirement, but it was narrowly tabled, so that it will still be required. Now they're again trying to make some kind of difference between "restaurants" and "bars", using the 50% food thing, and REQUIRING those "bars" to post, leaving the definition up to the owners. - OS
  20. Six whole rounds? - OS
  21. Easy for him to say! I've seen enough dogs and cats yowl with just a cut pad or something impaled in between pads to know they feel plenty of pain. Maybe their shock mechanism is more pronounced than ours in the case of mortal wounds, though. Maybe. Of course, horses are a special case, maybe he's right about them. They are dumb as oxen, and yet highly neurotic, too. Although I've heard them make plenty of noise when hurt, too. - OS
  22. Statute in force simply says: "It is an offense for a person to possess a firearm within the confines of a building open to the public where liquor, wine or other alcoholic beverages...are served for on premises consumption." Doesn't say loaded, or give exemption for unloaded. - OS
  23. The 2009 stoppage was only about a week before it was rectified, so I don't know about these "major layoffs" and "long term implications". - OS
  24. You can have more than one try, too. It's not like the critter is wildly running around. - OS
  25. It will function okay as OWB from time to time, but I wouldn't get one even to use that way for 30% of the time. Doesn't tuck into your side nearly as well as some of his other dedicated OWB holsters. I have one of his BodyGuard models for OWB, it's great, even though it turned out I hardly ever carry OWB. It's designed to tuck in behind your hip. Really works well for behind the hip. If you need a straighter drop for 3:00 better to get his Combat model: He also makes one specifically for crossdraw: Yeah, if David only knew how many holsters I've sold for him. - OS
