  1. On SOB carry, I found it fairly comfy for standing and walking with something even as large as XD service, was real nice with a Ruger SP101 wheelie, but most sitting positions/chairs didn't work for me over time. Seems like that nice hollow in my back disappears upon sitting. - OS
  2. Well, one of our counselors (and authorized vendors) is Patrick Stegall, esq. You might PM him and get him to post here so we can all benefit. Can tell you that employment law is a specialty, but he might at least give you a generalized opinion. I know years ago I consulted a couple of pretty high falutin lawyer friends about a labor matter, and they both referred me to a labor law specialist. - OS
  3. Yow, sorry to hear that. I had back surgery in my youth also (laminectomy/discectomy), back when it was a bigger whoop than now, but it served me pretty well till the predictable real McCoy arthritis settled in there in last few years. You have my sincere empathy. - OS
  4. Oh, to answer your question, there is a menu bar there, one is "submit entry". So just doit toit. - OS
  5. Makes my back hurt to think of it. - OS
  6. I'd bet it won't, just like the other XDMs. Probably hold two more than standard XD .45, though. - OS
  7. Adequately armed, to be sure. Looks like his belt is tightened enough to squeeze his colon back against his spine, to keep britches up. - OS
  8. Probably because you're 29, bro. I don't carry that way, but have experimented a lot, and my geezer joints bend much better the other way, as in the pics. - OS
  9. Good chance it will be perfectly conforming pretty soon. - OS
  10. Well, once it's pointed at you, unlike a semi, you can SEE them big ole boolits staring at your gizzard. - OS
  11. Of course, let me be the first to jump in here, that should you fall on your butt, you WILL completely shatter every vertebra from tip of your coccyx to L1 and push your kidneys out onto the ground through your navel! But seriously, a lot of SOB carriers do the "left for right" thing. Just depends on how your elbow and wrist hinge and whether you have arthritis or anything. My man David Bullard recommends that with one of his holsters, the Texas Conceal Carry. Here's for a righthander: - OS
  12. No specs in magazine ad: - OS
  13. So, any of you .327 fans, Ruger now has a Blackhawk 8 rounder and a GP100 seven rounder, adding to the existing SP101 6 rounder. Story in American Rifleman, first I've heard of it. I guess this wasn't big enough news for one of their "countdowns". The new models do indeed show on website. - OS

Guess I'd better look at mine...it's renters I've had for 12 years, figgered everything I have was covered (50K worth). - OS
  15. Ah, my "home town". I've been there, met head of clan and etc. And yep, that's some damn good drinkin. - OS
  16. TN ABC is obviously corrupt as hell, and I wouldn't at all be surprised to find that there are a lot of "unrecorded fines" in addition to the acknowledged monthly ones that I just read about for the first time. - OS
  17. Mine, Joe Armstrong, votes against ANY bill that increases freedom of carry, so in an odd way I guess this will be the first time we agree on his vote, although for different reasons. - OS
  18. There's not really anything for restaurants or "bars" to like either. Same old argument there, they don't want to have to post and alienate part of clientele, they simply want it to stay illegal. Another take I hadn't thought of was on Knox local news tonight, didn't catch which one...was a club owner who will HAVE to post under the new 50% rule. He wasn't griping because of pro carry but because it would give impression that his place had had shooting trouble or something, which is why it's posted. Didn't want any possible stigma by posting sign, but he'll have to. - OS
  19. I'd just as soon they did nothing rather than the way this is turning out. Hopefully, the way the nation seems to be turning to more conservative leadership, maybe we could get a clean carry anywhere/no posting allowed, like other states. I see the likelihood of much fewer places to legally carry with this POS, and not just booze serving restaurants. The fine for carrying past a sign right now is also $500, with no misdemeanor category or jail time either, so no real difference there. Actually, it's $500 max, not necessarily $500 period. - OS
  20. Where y'all getting safe ammo for these babies? Have read that CMP is about only place for the military ball, and it's getting scarce there too? - OS
  21. Many guns have serial numbers on more than just the frame. XD's for example have matching SNs on frame, slide, and barrel, although I know technically it's the frame that is "the gun". - OS
  22. Agree totally. Whistle Pig is certainly as good or better than squirrel or rabbit, plus there's more of it. - OS
  23. Yeah, the whole posting part is a mess. I actually didn't realize the senate bill had basically retained all this posting crap...thought the revision of 39-17-1359 was common to both bills ... until reading here today. Other, obviously post simian thinking, state legislatures simply pass carry laws and make them universal to everyone ... ours, of course, pass laws that cities, counties, businesses, restaurants don't have to follow, as long as they post a sign, and not even a standardized one at that. It is often actually embarrassing to watch them on live feed ... we could do better by holding raffles rather than elections to pick our representatives. - OS
  24. YOU don't have to figure out anything, except how to look for a standardized sign. The reason they did it is because the legislature has continually expressed a desire that we only carry in restaurants that primarily sell food, and not bars, joints, taverns, dives, pubs, saloons, or speakeasies that primarily serve booze. Just another perceived (and misguided) moral high road. - OS
  25. You keep forgetting TN law specifically states that he is allowed to do it. You may not like it, but it's perfectly legal in this state. - OS
