  1. It doesn't have to be fancy. Wear gun till bedtime. Put gun tween mattresses toward head of bed (next to your tactical backscratcher). - OS
  2. Oooo. I like them. If I carried a 1911 I'd probably just have to have one. - OS
  3. They range from $10 to maybe $500. I own about 10 of the smaller ones, and maybe 10 of the cheaper bigger ones (machetes, Bushmen, GI Tanto, War Head) , and have found all them to be well worth the pricetag. I'm not a Lynn Thompson fan personally, but do like the knives. The highest end ones I own are I think the Recon1 and Voyager, both in the $70 range street. And no, and I don't think ANY of them are US made now. Unless you find a closeout or cheaper listing on CS's other site (Special Projects : Cold Steel), you can always get them cheaper elsewhere. Sometimes eBay is best of all. - OS
  4. Wow, true luv! - OS
  5. Don't leave out 70below. He also talks too loud for people to hear their guns discharge. - OS
  6. 5.50 for 2 hours. 100 yard range. Bench only (sit down) For "self defense" pistol practice, not the best, as first target stand is at about 15 yards or more. - OS
  7. I thought you maybe already found an outlet for the new ones.Yeah, they have done same type redesign on the Voyagers, too - and I may well go back to it with the new one. Although the original Recon's G10 grip is REALLY grippable, much better than the Voyager's Zytel ones. I have Recon1, and it's quite a knife, but prefer the lighter Voyager. - OS
  8. Yeah, have an oldie well worn thick one like that too... 1/2" drop from edge down center. I used it myself for many years for sharpening our standard fish knives, cheap Old Hickory fillet models. Have a couple of Rapala ones after they came out way back when but still mainly used the Old Hickories. - OS
  9. No, it's not. It comes in fixed blade version also, 1/2" longer with even wider blade, but it's not serrated either. They are inexpensive, $20 from Amazon, etc, $25 from say Gander Mountain locally. Really tight lockup on the folder though, and both are 'bout as sharp as any. Thick, no nonsense blades. - OS
  10. Heh heh... Just answering a question on the last one. These are all just quickies. No true knife sharpening guru would use any of them anyway, but some do well enough for many uses. True sharpening masters will generally use a combination of flat stones or one of the sharpening systems that clamp the blade into an exact angle position. - OS
  11. You don't have THAT style Recon do you, as the redesign is supposedly not even out yet. Doesn't your handle look like this? (different blade style, I know). - OS
  12. Another from Smith's. Smith's 10 second knife & scissor sharpener | Smith's - The Edge Experts - OS
  13. I used 50 year old H&R .22 revolver myself and some Rem Thunderbolts from maybe the 70's. But it all worked. - OS
  14. I'm unclear about the one valve but 3 leaks; like they are all three past the failed valve? I guess the end of the main pipe that went up to the rig is broken off and is one of them? - OS
  15. By "US" I meant people, not United States. I edited my post to make it clear. - OS
  16. That's too bad. Kali is perfect place on the planet for him, short of a nice globally warmed piece of hell on earth somewhere. - OS
  17. Her best solution is to clean homo sapiens up, which is going to happen before we hit our projected 9 billion, IMNSHO. - OS
  18. Like they can do anything without it? - OS
  19. Oh my. Especially the second one. I hope I'm going to be okay. - OS
  20. Seems like to me one's status under LEOSA is as least as pertinent as what TN thinks of it, and would take precedence if LEOSA allows it but TN doesn't. - OS
  21. I've switched from 4" Cold Steel Voyager at least for a while, to: Gerber Profile. Gave up 1/2" in length, but the grip is so secure in hand, not gonna slide down the blade in the event of well, you know. Even if all wet and slick with, well, you know.... I also carry a CS Urban Pal on neck: And have a CS Super Edge on keychain: And a no name multi-tool with blade. So yeah, I guess you could say I feel comfy having a knife or two on my person. - OS
  22. One more from Smith's, if you have serrated blade. Little harder to hold onto, BE CAREFUL, but has carbide, ceramic and a fold out tapered round diamond file for serrations, too. Small enough to wear around neck or whatever. Pocket Knife Sharpener, the "Pocket Pal" | Smith's - The Edge Experts - OS
  23. This one is pretty good too, fine/coarse diamond one, $20. Slides into case to protect it: Diamond Combination Bench Stone | Smith's - The Edge Experts - OS
  24. Mine is a Smith's, like pic. Have them at WallyWorld, can't remember if it's Smith's or Gerber or what there. Can't remember where I got mine. $6 from Smith's site. Carbide steel and ceramic slots. - OS
  25. TCA 39-17-1301 Michie's Legal Resources Actually the copy/paste was from the link in first post, statute has been revised since then, is actually in (13), but wording is the same. - OS
