  1. Yup, links in original posts can be quite informational. - OS
  2. Perhaps I've misunderstood what COM means all this time. thorax=The part of the human torso between the neck and the diaphragm." That's not "Center of Mass"? - OS
  3. I'm on the South side, Nooga. Y'all have fun. - OS
  4. I forgot the smiley. - OS
  5. "Possession of a weapon on posted property in violation of this section is a Class B misdemeanor punishable by fine only of five hundred dollars ($500)." Did the wording change? - OS
  6. International sign description states: "The international circle and slash symbolizing the prohibition of the item within the circle;" If the item is a semi-auto, just carry a revolver in. Or vice versa. - OS
  7. Yeah, the .357 Marlin is always in demand. I finally walked into the right WalMart at the right time about 9 months ago, $485 brand new (the standard blued version). See them much higher on Gun Broker, though, again, just because there's never enough around to satisfy demand. The .30-30 in A or W config (cheaper wood stock) is usually about $350. You can usually find a .44 model too, about the same price as the .357 but generally available. Again, do a search for Winchester 94 .357 on GB in completed auctions and you'll see most sold in the $700-800 range, is all I know about them. - OS
  8. Wow, great minds think alike, watching it too. I'm usually on movies in the 150 ban and up, but original Stagecoach and The Searchers making for a great double feature. Mose is one of the greatest minor character parts ever. - OS
  9. Ah, good to know. Now, my 110FG did come with leather sheath (Amazon), but I'd never carry a folder that way myself. - OS
  10. Yeah, I've only shot a little of cause I don't see it much, and it's never been a best buy for bulk online when I was ready to purchase. But I'd grab a bunch of it with no worries. I think it's kind incredible that S&B has been in operation in Prague and Vlasim since 1825 in that part of the world with all the upheavals in govt. and whatnot. I mean, that's like 95 years before even Czechoslovakia itself was formed. - OS
  11. dOH. 2008. But I DID vote for Charlemange's grandson. - OS
  12. :D That's fine. I trust you. - OS
  13. We can only hope. Really IS sort of like Bruce Willis should show up to coordinate it. Sounds relatively simple in theory, except for the enormous proportions and weight of the thing, and the depth it has to go. Hell, maybe it'll be heavy enough to get enough of a seal on the seabed to just serve as a giant cap for a while, even if they can't pump the oil up. Course, that might just make the other two leaks speed up until they do the same on them. - OS
  14. Seriously. Wait and see if this "cure" doesn't turn out to be particularly evil in some specific way, or to some specific flora/fauna. - OS
  15. I'm afraid I've become pretty much an political candidate agnostic, it's been all I can muster to even vote for a lesser of evils for some time now. Voted Libertarian in 2008, if that gives you any idea. Our system ensures that by the time a man has a chance to win, he's unfit to serve -- and I really don't expect much difference with a Tea Party endorsed candidate either, at least for some time down the road, if then. It's rare I even make the effort to vote AGAINST someone anymore, but with this guy Hutchinson, it was sort of personal. So forgive me if I don't give my take on any of it. - OS
  16. Let me google that for you Y'all never seen one stand up and whistle? - OS
  17. Everything ends "ay" "wah", "oh", or "oo". Mixem and matchem. Yeah, if you speak Frog at Norris you have to extend a pinkie while doing so. - OS
  18. Very good, thanks. We'll see what all links develop. - OS
  19. Judge: "You cut this man to pieces. He bled out in less than a minute". Me: "Well, Your Honor, I thought I showed remarkable restraint. After all, I could have SHOT him." - OS
  20. Abbreviation Nazi is the lowest kind of Grammar Nazi. - OS
  21. It'll sure keep your wallet more lighter! - OS
  22. David, I wonder if a new topic, maybe for a while... Nashville Flood Relief Efforts or similar. Our channels here in Knoxville already have phone numbers to call in bucks. I'm gonna give through the channel 6 WATE (wate.com, ABC affiliate here) one I think. (865-582-4985). It's happened so fast they haven't even got web based donation afoot yet. EDIT: this particular effort goes to Red Cross, I just found out, dedicated for Nashville only. Not my particular fav charity by a long shot, but did it anyway. Thinking could list trustworthy orgs and efforts that TGO folks could help with, maybe. If it weren't for BP and the Times Square bomber, this would be THE lead story since it happened. It sure is bad. Can't believe folks didn't get together and get a lot of the memorabilia out of the Opry as the water rose. - OS
  23. I'd say you should count your blessings compare to many in Nashville. They were showing a trucking company there with many many rigs ruined, warehouses, everything. - OS
  24. Hoover Hogs. Kept a lot of bellies full during the depression. In the Appalachians, whistle pigs were the Sunday roast. Really. They are actually very lean, pretty much like huge squirrel. Most all that fat comes off with the skin. If you're going to pot roast one, best to scrape some back off and add back in. Possums, though, are fat marbled with meat. - OS
  25. My word. Will a Mosin even know what to do with that stuff? - OS
