Yes, the Western Pygmy Rattlesnake and Northern Pine Snake. On the Federal list. "Threatened" classification I think. Pine snakes can resemble rattlesnakes in color/pattern, and they get really big. Had one as a kid for about a year, dunno which variety it was, though. - OS

Just a hoot. I think you actually have to rack each round in manually. It's sort of "slide pump derringer". - OS

Well today I did my Target walk

Well, ammo is still cheaper for the most part at Wally's. Only thing I saw about the same or cheaper was some lacquer coated Wolf .223. Gun prices were pretty darn good at Academy in Hixson, though, judging by the ones I knew about. - OS -
Just discussing this in another thread. It's happening because Erik has put pix in UT server directory that's not public, ie, his email section, permissions don't allow public view. It looks like this: When I worked there, we could FTP to a public viewable storage area of our account, staff had more than students, but both could do it. Dunno what the deal is over there anymore. Matter of fact, they didn't nuke my account until 4 years after I left, and being assistant sys op of our Novell network at the time, I could have really stomped that, too, had I wanted. - OS

Yeah, I've not fired but one 30 round "burst" just for the effect of having done it. I've got 6 Ruger mags, too. I'm a mag junkie, and keep them all loaded for every gun I've got. Pretty soon I'll have to drop back to .22 for this volume of lead downrange, though, that's for sure. - OS
-
I know Erik. That's HIM. Mag is certainly half loaded. - OS

Ah, that's what it is, your link to pix (which don't show in this thread) are apparently to password secured area of your disk storage on server. I see this everytime I click on Last Post link. Go back to this forum topic view and click Last Post in this thread and see if you don't get this same thing: Permissions must not be right on the UT server for the directory you put pix in. - OS

Not to diss your equipment choice, but if those ProMags are reliable, they'll be the first I've heard of. - OS

Hmmm...I've not cleaned it on purpose but once after first firing just to check dependability, but sounds like I better, then, will take that advice. You see my addendum re the Tapco Mags? MidWestHuntersOutlet, although they've gone up a couple bucks since I bought mine.. helluva product though, and that was another reason I bought the Mini when I did. - OS

I was gentle. Hey, Erik, here's a flash for you: Several times in this thread, I've gone to the Last Post link, and I get a popup box: " A username and password are being requested by https://tmail.utk.edu. The site says: "tmail.utk.edu" " What's that about? You have some kind of code hidden in your posts? - OS

No, I only bought one about a month ago. Just got the woodie Ranch from Wally's. Once they improved some stuff, like the barrel, I jumped...always kinda wanted one. I love it so far, just shot it today scoped for first time; it's as accurate at 100 and 200 yards as I am with anything else. So far the reliability hasn't disappointed .. ran a bunch of Tula and Brown Bear lacquered stuff last week I bought from TGOer who admitted it didn't run well in his Ruger AR. Never a hiccup, and that after not cleaning the thing for couple hundred rounds before that, and shot another hundred or so today without cleaning still yet. Thinking only real modification I might do is the smaller gas port thing to keep brass slinging inside 50 yards. Or maybe the adjustable one, but probably not. Oh, I put a 1911 recoil buffer in it, so it IS customized now. - OS edit: Oh, forgot to mention, those new Tapco 30 rounders have worked perfectly. About a hundred round through each of the 4 I bought for $12.99 each!

Ah, IC. Thanks. - OS

No no, not at all. SHTF thinking determines much of my gun ownership. Most of my guns are 9mm, just to consolidate caliber. Also, won't have only one gun in a caliber. Actually bought a used .30-30 handi-rifle not long ago, since my Marlin 336 was a stand alone. 2 shotties, several revolvers w/ matching .357/.38 Marlin. I will have to pick up something else in 5.56/.223 at some point, to match my sole stand-alone now. Also won't have guns I don't have at least couple thousand rounds stashed. If I had LOTS of money, I'd would have some stand alone guns in different calibers just in case of found ammo with nothing to shoot it. Etc, like that... - OS

Wow, that yours? Looks like the new 580-581 barrel, but scored the old stock somewhere? Seems that whole stock is older variety? - OS

Better check your car, you may not be using all the spark plug holes. - OS

Hell man, the health care field is limiting your income! BronkerGrip.com cries out. - OS

Yeah, sometimes it doesn't seem quite right that both that and this are both called "rifles", and both Mini 14 rifles at that. - OS

Most folks don't realize their own ISP offers x amount of space. ComCast is 6 GIG, I believe, 2 gig for each of 3 email aliases. - OS

It's not "speed tactical" since you'd have to go into same pocket to get spare mag, but it does keep it all together in same overall square space that just the gun alone would occupy. It also looks like it would problematic getting gun out, but quite the contrary, just as your back couple of fingers nudge into the gap tween bottom of grip and top of spare mag, the gun just pops out of retainment right into hand. I'm as quick getting this into play as my XD from IWB. Actually, MUCH quicker IF I already had hand in pocket. I generally only carry it on the rare occasions I have to do the coat and tie thing, but I've been shooting the Kahr a little more lately, as have a place I need to go off and on where, um, well, let's say it would be better to be 150% concealed, so the Mighty Mite will see more carry than usual. - OS
-
You've seen it before, but yeah even though I'm mainly leather kinda guy dontchaknow, I do think Kydex is best choice for pocket carry. As Kahr says, "thinner is better". Btw, this Stellar Rigs model became quite popular, and Kahr now sells them from Kahr.com site. - OS

How old is your XD SC .40? On the 9mm SC the original 10 round flush mag was reworked to hold 13 rounds about a year ago. But the long mag was and still is, 16. Maybe they also tweaked the .40 long mag? All the XD .40's on Springfield site show coming with 12 round long mag, both service and subbies. Does it SAY 11 on the baseplate? Btw, quick question at XDtalk would probably answer the question definitively. - OS edit: meant to mention cdnnsports.com has the short XD .40 mags for 19.99, and the full ones for 24.99, regular prices. All they show are 12 rounders for the long .40 ones. Except maybe for this Springfield sale, CDNN generally has about the lowest mag prices around. - OS

Just saw this thread... Yeah, Mike shoots it better than I do. Garufa, too. Then again, that's all normal. You need to try in pocket sometime, Mike. That's why I bought it and how I carry it. Many, if not most, do too. It's the whole reason for spending the big bucks on the PM9, to get reliable firepower of 9mm in yer pocket. - OS
-
Yeah, usually the police are reluctant to give it back because it's evidence if used in a crime; which of course it is, if someone was charged with selling/possessing the stolen gun or whatever. - OS

Just noticed OP's nick. Pretty ironic. - OS

Because it's not illegal to transport an unloaded and/or disassembled firearm in car. If you want to argue that a disassembled firearm is not a firearm, good luck, if the worst comes about. You might try it on an airline, just to get all the feedback you can beforehand. - OS
