  1. Citizen Kane. After his protege/squeeze's first (bad) opera performance. He had to start the applause rolling 'cause nobody else would. - OS
  2. Nemesis is okay, but a Kydex will be thinner. IMO, for pocket carry, the thinner the better. - OS
  3. Well, my take is you won't be voting for a Republican in the actual gubernatorial election at all then. - OS
  4. And VA has passed concealed carry in restaurants finally, but maybe the law isn't officially in effect yet there. - OS edit: oops, posted before reading GKar's post. July 1, law goes into effect.
  5. Yeah, I don't know of ANY 9mm load that would feel significantly "gentler", short of maybe getting somebody to hand load some weenies. Point is, 9mm needs a minimum level of power, indeed most use +p for carry load, otherwise might as well drop down to .380 (which, incidentally, can feel even more violent from some of the itty bitty guns that are chambered for it. - OS
  6. Well, you could send your luggage that way also, as far as that goes. - OS
  7. You can't buy a handgun but in the state of your residence. Federal law. You could buy one in FL, but all they could do is ship it to your FFL (if they are willing). They can't put it in your hand. You can carry any pistol, of course. There is no gun registration in TN, nor any required for your travel. Just follow the TSA.gov and individual airline checklist on how to case and check in firearms on airlines. People do it all the time. - OS
  8. Actually, was mostly lucid for the first 95 posts or thereabouts. - OS
  9. You can't DO that, unless you buy illegally. - OS
  10. Key West and San Francisco are GREAT places for a single straight man, I can attest from personal experience! 'Course, OP is bringing nookie with him. Your TN permits are fine there, of course. Concealed only. For details of no no's and whatnot: Handgunlaw.us NRA-ILA :: OpenCarry.org - A Right Unexercised is a Right Lost! I don't get that about buying a handgun in Florida. They couldn't put it in your hand there. - OS
  11. Now that's casting aspersions on Ms Jolie! But hmmm, now that you mention it, maybe my case of blepharitis is something else from the late 60's finally catching up with me, I better look into that! - OS
  12. It's TRUE. I've seen Angelina Jolie do it with my own eyes! - OS
  13. Quite perceptive of you. Bronker is my guru. - OS
  14. You don't need a bullet in a .45, just put some wax in the end to hold the charge. Everybody knows the powder blast itself will vaporize any target within 10 yards. - OS
  15. Whattya need to know? Veto overridden. Carry in all establishments that serve alcohol for onsite consumption legal. Either no guns logo or more detailed statute verbiage is legal posting now, everywhere but municipal parks. Only question is when it actually goes into effect. Some say now. Some say a few days. Anti lawsuits expected to filed in days, but also expected to fail this time. - OS
  16. No one's completely sure. Some say now. Some say both speakers have to sign and file it, so might be a "few days". - OS
  17. Sarcasm appreciated, but I guess you haven't read many of my comments in the two Deepwater Horizon threads. Besides the obvious long term ecological implications, I think most are vastly underestimating the economic implications. This could actually be a contributory gale in the perfect storm for US financial meltdown. I'll say it again: if I read their stock statement correctly, BP's $70 Billion in assets won't cover this if it goes till August or later. Not by a long shot. 'Course, I could be totally wrong. Hope so. - OS
  18. Main thread: http://www.tngunowners.com/forums/tennessee-politics-legislation/40995-house-overrides-veto-sb3012-new-post.html - OS
  19. Except municipal parks. - OS

    "Good" Entry 1911

If you're lucky, you'll get one like Mike.357's that goes full auto now and then! - OS
  21. Looks to me like the thing is about the same as always. Indeed, perhaps its epicness has even grown in epicnosity. - OS

    MLB

Sure was. Doubt if I'd have made it through college without uppers. - OS
  23. Nah, And Justice For All, Al Pacino. - OS

    MLB

Not denying the validity of all that...but his stats are undeniably TRUE. And apparently, 'roid free to boot. - OS
  25. Oh Shoot

    MLB

Yeah. I mean, c'mon, it's true, honorable, provable that the kid threw a perfect game. Shouldn't the frigging undeniable TRUTH of the fact override the tradition of the "human error factor?". Especially when MLB already DOES use some instant replay for foul pole calls and whatnot. Hell, I think banning Pete Rose from Hall of Fame is just more of the same hypocrisy. - OS
