  1. Not just the Saudis. From the orig. London Times article: "Israeli intelligence experts say that Egypt, Saudi Arabia and Jordan are at least as worried as themselves and the West about an Iranian nuclear arsenal." Saudi Arabia gives Israel clear skies to attack Iranian nuclear sites - Times Online - OS
  2. Yeah, I often get a bit verklempt from movies. Just yesterday, the scene where Jodi Foster meets alien in form of her father in Contact did it, and I've seen the flick 2 or 3 times before. - OS
  3. Seems pretty likely to me the US and Saudis "leaked" this on purpose as a big saber rattle. Likely more effective than any sanctions to date. And it did not come through the UN. - OS
  4. That is absolutely the first time I ever heard of doing that, had no idea it was possible to surface dye polymer. What product can do that? The trigger/housing on the current "blued" models are already black of course, the color molded in. - OS
  5. Horse pucky. Potentially lethal confrontations are stopped all over this nation by showing a gun but not discharging it. I've done it myself, twice, long time ago in previous incarnations. Cops do it regularly, too. Clearing leather doesn't necessitate pulling the trigger, even in that isolated and in my opinion, wacky case. - OS
  6. "LONDON -- Saudi Arabia has conducted tests to stand down its air defenses to enable Israeli jets to make a bombing raid on Iran’s nuclear facilities, The Times of London reported Saturday." Full story from Fox News and link to original London Times story: FOXNews.com - Saudi Arabia Gives Israel Clear Skies to Attack Iranian Nuke Sites - OS
  7. I'd rate that as very slightly preferable to oral surgery. - OS
  8. Well, that part got to me, too. - OS
  9. Contact Duplicity and now Shutter I watch 10-15 movies a week. Only uncut, no commercials, though. - OS
  10. Sounds like perfect time for The Phantom Pharter. But sounds like you're been lucky the last few shows. - OS
  11. Duh, on re-reading, you're probably right. If so, mea culpa, comment retracted, hot coals on my head, I'm sorry. - OS
  12. Probably "legal" in all states. Also "idiotic" in all states. - OS
  13. Already told you. There is no such thing. - OS
  14. Aug. 14/15, Knoxville Expo Center. Here's your coupon. Rk $1 Coupon - OS
  15. I tend to agree, but a lot of the web formatting makes some places quite difficult to paste from without a lot of previewing and cleanup. - OS
  16. I read a lot of James Dickey growing up, Deliverance is probably his most "accessible" work. Georgia boy, he knew that turf... WWII and Korean War vet, too. Oh yeah, he's the sheriff in the movie, too. - OS
  17. Yeah, enjoyed it muchly myself ... we've just settled into heat and humidity a little earlier this year. If we didn't have that, everyone in the world would want to live here! Mystery to me what changed on the SKS sighting. I mean, even I MY OWN SELF was hitting nicely with it earlier. (actually, maybe that proves that is was way off). :D Was fun to finally shoot a Saiga shottie, too, thanks Ken! - OS
  18. Proper way to shoot a Hi Point: Here I am after not shaving for a while, on my way to Criminal Court: - OS
  19. Trigger guards are no longer aluminum, but polymer, as of about 18 months ago or so. Actually, whole trigger group housing and the trigger itself are polymer now. And yes, receivers have ALWAYS been aluminum, except for a number of years of the .22 magnum 10/22, where there were indeed steel. By the way, the "blued" sprayed finish comes off too, and underneath is the same aluminum receiver you now see on your "stainless" model. - OS
  20. 10 bucks. 9 bucks with this coupon: Rk $1 Coupon Sorry to miss everyone on this one, went shootin' with Mike.357 instead. Can't afford anything, so didn't want to just walk around drooling. - OS
  21. Note that using an image in sig is different than posting image link in a post. You must "upload" the image from the other site, putting the URL in the dialogue below the signature editing window. It is limited in size allowed, and larger images will be automatically sized down, usually poorly, so best to make the image the correct dimensions to begin with. In other words, putting URL with IMG tags in the body of the signature window will NOT work like it does in a normal posting. HTH, - OS
  22. Sound like the "random Walmart explanation" you get from all those oh so knowledge clerks that are oh so privy to corporate decision making. And speaking of Wally's, they had same type disagreement with Ruger products for a while, wanting to sell them cheaper than Ruger wanted them to. - OS
  23. Forget Maryland, too. The states you can carry loaded weapon with TN HCP are VA, PA, Ohio, and KY. From all reports, you won't get into Canada with a handgun under any hardly any circumstances, short of really hiding it and lying (and risking Bad Trouble). http://www.handgunlaw.us/states/tennessee.pdf - OS
  24. (1)The $500 fine is for violating 39-17-1359 (2)The suspension/revocation is for violating 39-17-1352, which you do when you've done (1). - OS
