Trigger guards are no longer aluminum, but polymer, as of about 18 months ago or so. Actually, whole trigger group housing and the trigger itself are polymer now. And yes, receivers have ALWAYS been aluminum, except for a number of years of the .22 magnum 10/22, where there were indeed steel. By the way, the "blued" sprayed finish comes off too, and underneath is the same aluminum receiver you now see on your "stainless" model. - OS
