  1. Join at link: InsureYourGunRights and you get a pretty nice multi-tool. Made in China, but has rosewood handles, pretty well made. - OS
  2. Oh Shoot

    Bad English

I think he must be concerned about people illegally crossing the border between Brazil and the US. Oh wait.... - OS
  3. Yeah, good in sense that who governs least, governs best. Bad in the sense that we'll actually be more like 6 years, 2 of gridlock, and 4 of slow attempts at overturning half the stuff that was done in the previous 4. While none of the ongoing real problems will still be effectively addressed. Only real question in my mind is whether we continue to see the downward spiral into worse and worse standard of living, with the accompanying erosion of personal freedoms, or whether it all abruptly snaps. - OS
  4. Oh, I think it is. After all, only practical alternative is the GOP. - OS
  5. I've had several posts where, before posting them, I highlighted something to delete, used the backspace key, and rather than delete the text, takes me back as if I had hit "previous page". Then when I come back, posting window gone -- this elicits voluminous colorful OhShoot cursing. - OS
  6. Well, he was lefty in his youth, fairly non-committal in his middle years, but has been one of the rare Hollywood outspoken conservative activists for a number of years now. - OS
  7. July 27, 2008, less than two years ago. Certainly Greg McKendry would have fared better with a handgun than just using his body to shield others. - OS
  8. Oh Shoot

    Glock 28

It's not a small gun in physical size, so I don't see a US market for it even if it could be imported. Only reason they make it is for sale in countries where other larger mainstream calibers aren't permitted. - OS
  9. Well, again, OC without a permit, CC without one, whatever. That would be fine. However, I'd work harder on an effort that merely allowed me to carry my freakin gun without having to freakin read every freakin sign on every freakin building I encounter every freakin day across this whole freakin state. - OS
  10. You can adjust the locks, that's why they have screw slots. Did you expect jimping, when it's not mentioned and the pictures don't show it? The round opening lug doubles as a pretty good thumb rest. I don't use pocket clips, so that wasn't an issue for me. This model was produced for a number of years, and most folks loved it. Of course it is being discontinued for a new version; so is the even more popular Voyager. - OS
  11. I use some on Kahr and on one side of XD grip, here's my experience with the various types I tried: http://www.tngunowners.com/forums/firearm-accessories/14988-grip-tape.html#post198477
  12. Just a note, illegal gun possession is NOT a felony, even with repeat violations. - OS edit: oops, see FG already got to this. Of course. :-)
  13. Yeah, me too. But I am taking full advantage of being a 112 year old Druid practicing Venusian. - OS
  14. I think they add an extra hour's cursing time for Ruger Mark I/II/III. - OS
  15. Many, almost certainly most, businesses do not own the property they operate from. The property may not even belong to a TN resident. You have rights under which businesses can not bar you : your rights to be black, gay, female, Jewish, old, Swedish, etc ... If handgun carry were a right, it would be in the same category, so you might as well quit referring to it as such...at best it has become a limited privilege. The fact that you cannot carry a firearm in a Federal facility, which YOU pay for, and which is part of the infrastructure of a government that supposedly exists in obedience to and protection of the Constitution, should show you how far from a "right" it is. - OS
  16. http://www.tngunowners.com/forums/2nd-amendment-issues/40194-u-s-reverses-stance-treaty-regulate-arms-trade.html?pagenumber= snopes.com: Small Arms Treaty NRA-ILA :: The UN And International Treaties
  17. What other "rights" do you think private businesses should be allowed to deny? - OS
  18. I don't have a prob with the HCP as much as I have a prob that the HCP is toothless. - TN denies me the right to carry - TN allows me to carry by becoming part of a privileged class - TN then denies me the right they just gave me by allowing government and private entities to disallow carry Hell, I can't even carry in the very places I "own", those being built and supported with my own taxes. How about we concentrate on actually allowing HCP holders to simply carry a frigging gun instead of requiring us to read every sign on every structure we encounter? - OS
  19. Reread my admittedly off topic response to Macville. The Constitution is not a criminal law book, and was not the subject of my retort. I certainly did not claim "morals" are ingrained. Quite the opposite, they evolved as natural and logical proscriptions to allow people to live together more effectively - similar "morals", or "taboos/laws" evolved in most every culture long before the US, the Christian Bible, or even the Hebrew one. Our own Native Americans had their own tribal laws regarding murder, theft, marriage, personal property, and the like without the influence from any world religion. Too bad for them that first day a Christian set foot on North America. Back on topic, a legislative candidate without a voting record is pretty much still an unknown quantity when it comes to his saying "I believe in the 2nd amendment." The majority of our TN legislature has never really believed in it. Our departing governor doesn't believe in it. Bill Haslam, the next governor, doesn't fully believe in it. And you know what? The majority of Tennesseans and the majority of Americans don't believe in it. At best, all the above "sort of" believe in it. They believe it's limited. "Oh, sure everybody should be able to have a hunting rifle, but not an AK-47", or "sure, everybody should be able to have a gun at home, but not carry it in their pocket", etc. So a pol has to weigh all that too. And it won't change as long as there are no term limits and the primary interest of a pol is to get reelected. All that being said, short of voting for some obvious total loon, sure 2A is "important" to me, but a candidate's lips moving isn't a guarantee of anything, by a long shot. Hell, Barack Hussein Obama says he believes in it (and in all fairness, has thus far done nothing to disprove that, something I can't really say for our own TN legislature). - OS
  20. I believe it was UltraMax? - OS
  21. Enjoyed shooting w/ y'all as always... Treat seeing you Tony, and yeah a real pleasure to see yer better half grinning like a mule eating briers with the Ruger :-)) - OS
  22. Surely Rahm, Holder, and O have delayed filing the suit until they were able to insure that the fix in for at least the first federal court level, eh? And likely the fix is in all the way to the top. I'd say we'll see AZ have to take this all the way to SCOTUS, and they might refuse to hear it. I mean, the FEDERAL government suing in FEDERAL court? Jefferson Davis didn't figure the CSA would get a fair shake there either, eh? - OS
  23. Green dot or blank one next to user name in posts is one way. - OS
  24. The written test is easy. Full dis-assembly and re-assembly of a 1911 in under 5 minutes flunked some folks, though. - OS
  25. Yah, I'm sure the JC police haven't heard a word about this. Right. - OS
