  1.   If you mean the Tennessee Firearm Freedom Act, it doesn't say that at all.   Or maybe you mean the "no help to ATF" statute, which doesn't say that either.   And you are likely alone on this whole forum in your opinion of Haslam in regard to firearm law.   - OS
  2. I have the Slim Uncle Mike's Special for XD subbie ... matter of fact, Tim uses my pic on site there. - OS
  3.   That's only available in Trading Post forums.
  4. Crap. I still use a RAZR V3, and even a backup.   - OS
  5.   Ya know, I never realized the BodyGuard wasn't a J frame, thought it was just a 442 or something with laser and a different factory grip.   - OS
  6.   Perhaps they'll make one that goes all the way to 11.   - OS
  7.   "three years from the date you filed your original return or within two years from the date you paid the tax, whichever is later."   - OS
  8. TICS shows 351,005 approved transfers just for 2014 alone, and 3,887,916 as a running total through end of 2014.   - OS
  9.   I thought you agreed that simply calling Lisa was the best first course of action?   - OS
  10.   Hell, I see at least one movie per week that's worse than that.   - OS
  11.   You must have seen ridiculously few movies in your life. ;)   - OS
  12.   Statute is of course not without the customary tinge of gray, what with the "in a motor vehicle" wording.   - OS
  13. Turn an otherwise boring social situation into instant disco excitement.   - OS
  14.   Btw, contact search on TN.gov shows a different number for her than what's on the TNDOS HCP page, 615-251-5330, dunno what's up with that.   I have her email address somewhere also, but since they don't publish that anymore, might just piss her off or something, so try the phone first.   But for sure, you need to get to her specifically, I've found the other folks there to be mostly just disinformation machines.   - OS
  15. I guess first step is to contact the cheese of the HCP division, Lisa Knight (615) 251-8590, and see what she says.   HCP statue seems a bit vague, only saying "lawful permanent resident, as defined by § 55-50-102" which defines that as "...the status of having been lawfully accorded the privilege of residing permanently in the United States as an immigrant in accordance with the immigration laws, such status not having changed"   And that "the applicant is not an alien and is not illegally or unlawfully in the United States"   The HCP site does say the Permanent Resident Alien Card (I-551) is enough, but I find that nowhere in the statue, so must be just a "rule".   If she says no, then she'd also have to admit the site info is in error,  then I suppose a legal challenge would be next, dunno.   Please do keep us posted here.   - OS
  16.   That's just too weird, again can't imagine what could cause a progressive problem like that.   The new rings didn't get chewed up right away again did they, maybe some sort of machining problem with inside of the carrier or something really unusual?   - OS
  17.     FWIW, these two posts from ARFCOM HomeTown section in Dec, assuming "Bob" is the main smith?   "Bob is setting up shop at Knoxville Tactical in Powel. The were moving in his machines just before Thanksgiving. He is supposed to be up & running mid-December or so."   "Bob Howard has moved to Knoxville Tactical. I was fortunate enough to find him there. Knox Tac will be ready to roll with any of your gun smithing needs as soon as the electrician connects the necessary wiring to the lathes and machinery. They are also equipped to Ceracoat, as well. BTW, Knox Tac is having a Glock Days sale this weekend (started today 12/4/15), with a Glock representative in the store tomorrow and some really good deals!"   - OS
  18. David Robert Jones, indeed the "Man Who Fell to Earth". Unique enough to indeed have been an alien.   - OS
  19. Looking back over emails, was first limited to 250gb back in 08, then bumped to 300gb in '13, no changes since.   I even have the extreme 105 service,  sort of by accident really (and which is apparently actually 150 now), and account still shows 300gb cap when I check online.   What's weird on my account is that my year's free intro pricing on package ran out, so bumped up by about 80 clams on Dec bill, was just going to see about renegotiating something or other or downgrade or something, and new bill came in with the discount on it again, without any interaction on my part. So if it stays that way, guess I'll let sleeping dogs lie for a while, dunno....   - OS
  20.   And Virginia in about three weeks.   - OS
  21.   Well, it's all for naught anyway ...   - first of all, need Rep prez to get it passed - assuming that happened, lots of states would file suit immediately, and I see no way SCOTUS would uphold it.   - OS
  22.   I truly hope this fails again. No more precedents regarding federal gun control of any kind should be set. A positive one is only a heartbeat different from its opposite.   The only gun action I'm in favor of would involve repeal, not addition.   - OS
  23.   If they had wanted to test it in court, would have already done it. Besides existing vids, simply send agents to hang around shooting ranges with small cams, wouldn't take long.   The last time they tried to prosecute a narrow decision like this, (Thompson Decision) they lost a lot of prosecutorial power, both with the pistol/rifle/pistol and "possessive construction" issues.   It's also noteworthy that no one has ever been convicted of having a VFG on a handgun either.   Seems they're content to just let their tradition of gray intimidation suffice.   - OS
  24.   Correct to an extent, but typical with ATF culture of obfuscation, incomplete.     Yep, more like it:   ".. an NFA firearm is made if aggregated parts are in close proximity such that they ... serve no useful purpose other than to make an NFA firearm (e.g., a receiver, an attachable shoulder stock, and a short barrel)..."   Since that stock would presumably have no legal purpose among all the rest of your inventory, but only a clearly illegal one, it would fit the bill in the unlikely event you were under the radar and push came to shove.   - OS
  25.   Well, you can't legally bring back any gun at all to one's home state done in private trade or buy. Do they have OK FFLs set up there to do transfers for long guns between folks?   - OS
