I dunno. I get emails from the other forum that's using VBulletin. 3.8.6 Is there an outgoing email queue you can check on TGO host to see if things are hanging, or bouncing? Doesn't seem as if anyone can even register on TGO right now using a comcast.net addy. I couldn't "confirm" when I changed mine back to it. - OS
-
Well, must have gotten close to gumming up whole account. Changed email back to Comcast...did not get email to confirm, so thought I was probably locked out! But it didn't seem to take effect, was able to set it back to my domain, got email, confirmed, and still here. David, something IS going on regarding comcast.net emails! - OS
-
Okay, here's the scoop. I subscribed to several threads, got NO emails at my TGO registered Comcast addy, and yes, they had new posts. Subscribed to several threads at Survivalist Boards, same Comcast addy, got instant emails on new posts. Changed my TGO email address to my domain email, and got instant emails. SO...something to do with TGO and send OUT to ComCast addy. I'll change my TGO email contact BACK to Comcast and see. Maybe simple fact of change shook something loose (tech term). - OS

I think if Punisher loses the bet, YOU have to BUY it, sounds like to me! - OS

Have to admit if I'd had the choice, would have not gotten adjustable rear sight on mine, but it's the only way the .357/9mm convertible model is offered. - OS
-
I have Blackhawk .357/9mm convertible. The extra cylinder model isn't much more than single caliber model, and sure makes it more versatile. It certainly competes as my favorite handgun, but don't tell the others. - OS

Mike, I thought of that too; think is, I DO use a Comcast addy as TGO registration, but I don't have anything set to actually get an email. Maybe I'll subscribe to a thread to test ... that is supposed to send one, right? Oh, wait, I HAVE gotten a few at least in the last couple weeks, when my PM box was full. - OS edit: just subscribed for instant email to a couple of threads, including this one.

So, for a couple hours, could NOT get on TGO or Survivalist Boards today, using ComCast cable. What was really odd was that at one point got an "your IP is blocked" from SB. No other sites affected that I could find. Used an "anonymizer" and was able to see both TGO and SB off an on. Very weird, not sure I've ever seen that sort of thing before. Was this a Comcast DNS prob of some sort or was TGO/SB using some sort of IP whitelist/blacklist that got corrupted or something? - OS

It is not correct. Round in chamber in your handgun with HCP is fine. Indeed, it's the only logical way to carry it. My guess is somebody was talking about long gun in your car. With HCP, you may carry a long gun in your car, and it can have loaded magazine in the gun, but must NOT have one in the chamber. - OS

Don't know how much help this will be, but LeConte Lodge seems to still be managed on a lease basis from the Park Service by Stokely Hospitality, the same folks that own Applewood and other of the Apple Valley stuff there in Sevierville. I used to deliver to them. According to 2010 concession list at: http://www.nps.gov/grsm/parkmgmt/upload/concessions-list-map-2.pdf they still do. So I'd wager that it would not be classified as a "federal building", but don't take my word as definitive. Their website is down right now. they are lecontelodge.com which redirects to leconte-lodge.com, but both are down. Contact info is listed in the PDF, in case you want to call the guy and ask if they're posted, but I wouldn't - OS EDIT: website came back up. http://lecontelodge.com http://leconte-lodge.com And from their site: Q: Does the park service own and operate LeConte Lodge? A: No, the lodge is owned and operated by Stokely Hospitality Enterprises. LeConte Lodge is a concession of the National Park system.

Your droll comment meter is on the fritz. If you have one. - OS

Thanks. Nowhere else would I have gotten this news. - OS

The clue would be, "Off Topic" is by definition almost certainly NOT going to be about guns and gear. So do you like queer opera or not? - OS
-
Oh, you meant the football game. Yeah, there's that, too. Forgive my jaded view ... I shot the coaching films for about 15 years, traveled with team and etc .. had my sufficiency of the "sport" of college football. - OS

Quite exciting here closer to town too. Breezeways were like car washes with strobe lighting. - OS

I don't see what the big deal here is. Mr. Poppycock's act doesn't much differ from standard showbiz stage fare, all the way from Busby Berkerely to Gene Kelly to Madonna. Guess nobody on TGO 'cept maybe me has ever been to an opera, either? I guess Canio in Pagliacci is just a ghey role period. How about that ghey Jimmy Cagney routine in "Yankee Doodle Dandy" or that ghey Gene Simmons in Kiss, or those ghey Village People, ... oh wait... - OS

Yep, but whether he burns any Korans or not tomorrow, the seed has been planted, and there undoubtedly WILL be some burned soon. Only question is how much press any given conflagration may get. Prediction: look for O, Inc. to make it a hate crime to assuage our Muslim brothers. Maybe it should be, I dunno. Doesn't exactly foster love, that's for sure. - OS
-
Yep, well said. Even got Petraeus doing a Nervous Nellie because of a few loons 7,000 miles away. What a leader. I see why O has such faith in him. - OS
-
The mad Florida imam who the mad Florida preacher said brokered a deal with the mad NYC imam sez it ain't so, and that the mad preacher only said that so he could call off the event and save face, so the mad preacher sez the burning might be on again. Meanwhile, The Donald has offered to buy the damn place for 25% more than the Muslim's paid for it. No joy so far. - OS

Sorry. Added it to post. Up and down with touch of flu or something, guess why I forgot it in first place. Don't quite follow. It's pretty easy to check on Wiki in this instance, although if you mean just because a country "bans" Christianity doesn't mean they'll imprison or execute you for practicing it, you're of course surely correct. The point is, though, that only a very few even have laws against it. I wouldn't go Bible thumpin in The Maldives or Mauritania, though, they sound pert damn serious. Whole point was that making a blanket statement about "Muslim Countries" is about the same as saying that "the United States does not allow concealed handgun carry", when it's actually only 2 that totally do not (plus apparently Hawaii, which lies about it outright and California, which strongly fibs). - OS

FWIW, Galco still makes what they call the Jackass Rig, as a separate product from the Miami Classic. Galco holsters; Holsters; Gun holster, pistol holsters, western holsters, shoulder holsters, leather holster and Glock holsters - OS
-
It doesn't take too much of an open mind to simply google "Christianity in ____", but you may see that as beneath your already extensive storehouse of knowledge on the subject. Here's a decent list of 47 "Muslim Countries". I didn't look at each one, but will be surprised if you find more than 5 that actually ban the practice of Christianity. Hint: you can right click on each country, open in additional tab, and check the religion section of each. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Muslim_countries - OS
-
I can read, too. There are Christian Churches in Iraq (even under Sadaam), Iran, Libya, Jordan, Yemen, Eqypt, etc etc. All "Muslim Countries". There are Christian Churches in the country with the most Muslims in the world, Indonesia. Even Somalia, with perhaps the densest Muslim percentage per the population, has a Catholic diocese. Indeed, there only seem to be a handful, if not just 2 or 3, countries where Christianity and/or the tools/edifices thereof, are actually forbidden. Hence, your previous blanket statement can only be deemed inaccurate. Simple statement of fact, so if you have opposing factual content, by all means use it to support your statement. - OS
