  1. I can find no reference to that? Only to places where alcohol is sold for consumption. Or is it a sign that doesn't apply to permit holders, like the ones here that used to have to be displayed? - OS
  2. Just move here? The Strip is Cumberland Ave. Bank is at corner of 19th St. - OS
  3. Similar, but not same as my Stellar Rigs holster. The Stellar is more compact with total area covered. Mine pretty well takes up whole pocket, front to back, so wouldn't have been room for a more separated mag like in your pic. Course, mine's for a PM9 and not a .380. It's also Kydex. - OS
  4. I wonder how many of those registering on the site actually took the time to communicate with their reps/senators when the statute was being hammered out? - OS
  5. Both AVG and McAfee Site Advisor show all clear. No probs using IE. This seems to be a Google database warning that shows in FireFox. Makes sense that it would show in Chrome, but didn't realize that Mozilla and Google had such a interdependence. - OS
  6. Few (if any) states have owner-discretionary posting laws with criminal penalty like TN. - OS edit: yes, FG saw my point.
  7. "A person may loan or rent a firearm to a resident of any State for temporary use for lawful sporting purposes, if he does not know or have reasonable cause to believe the person is prohibited from receiving or possessing firearms under Federal law." [18 U.S.C 922(a)(3) and (5), 922(d), 27 CFR 478.29 and 478.30] "temporary" is not defined. Note that if it is a state that requires some sort of permit to even possess a firearm, that must also be satisfied by the recipient of the loan. - OS
  8. So a guy in Maine can protest a sign in TN? or what? - OS
  9. Oh Shoot

    Vontar?!!?

As in, your alter egos? The content-free posting similarities suggest cloning. - OS
  10. Saw you posted this on Survivalist Boards... Since that's a national interest forum, not sure but what it may confuse things, since most states don't have the same laws... Would suggest you post it, though, on the TN part of Open Carry Forums: Tennessee also, perhaps TFA? - OS
  11. Oh Shoot

    Vontar?!!?

It IS pretty unusual to go more than an hour without a content-free post from either Vontar, Glock23ForMe, or TargetShooter84. I've wondered if the three are actually even separate entities. - OS
  12. Strangely, the one on The Strip is still not posted as of today. Maybe there's a pro 2A manager there or something that has "misplaced" the sign. - OS
  13. You keep saying that. However, the ordinance says " Any person violating any of the provisions of this general penalty article shall be guilty of a misdemeanor, and conviction thereof shall result in the penalties of a monetary fine not to exceed fifty dollars ($50.00) and the repayment of administrative costs incident to the correction of the municipal violation in an amount not to exceed five hundred dollars ($500.00) and/or by imprisonment not to exceed thirty (30) days, or both, for each separate offense. Each day any violation of this Code or of any ordinance shall continue shall constitute a separate offense. " - OS
  14. Knoxville didn't actually opt out of the state law, in which case they WOULD have to post them, rather they are simply holding onto a pre-1986 city ordinance, which they can legally do by TCA statute, and NOT post them. So, though "ignorance of the law is no excuse", it seems like an especially bad "gotcha" in this case. - OS
  15. Yes, of course, unless you are shipping them to yourself. - OS
  16. Yeah, seem to have developed a knack for getting struck in the face with something shoot related. The .50 BMG scope ding to bridge of nose was more than worth it, though. - OS
  17. The receiver with main serial number IS the gun. That part is same as shipping whole gun. Any other part can be shipped any ole way you want, even including USPS as I understand it. Large shippers generally have discount rates with UPS and FedEx. The two shippers court large accounts and will bid against each other for a contract. Also, FFL's can ship to each other with USPS, unlike you and me. That's generally cheaper period. Actually, anyone with an account gets a little better rate than walking into the counter and paying. For example, I have UPS account through eBay and it's about 20% cheaper than the published rate if you check it on website. If used through eBay for an eBay transaction, it's even cheaper. You can actually save about 5% on most shipping even with USPS if you use Click n' Ship online instead of paying at the PO. That, or get free tracking, which amounts to about the same savings. - OS
  18. Oh, I remember it well, and agreed all down the line. I assumed there would be various organizations that would urge the use of the gunbusters decals, and maybe even send them out. I was thinking more along the lines of the TN Restaurant Assoc. and the like, but doesn't much matter who all does it, outcome is likely the same, that being "oh why not, maybe it'll decrease my liability", or "maybe it'll make bad guys think twice", or whatever other dumb reason comes to mind - and the decal is already in their hand. - OS
  19. Well, 72.44.88.31 is the IP of the server, but it's shared. May even be an IP shared by more than one hosting puter, not sure. That's the prob with shared hosting, as it could well be another site on the shared computer that has caused the prob with spam or whatever, and the hosting company may not have been exactly on the ball to smack down the offender. Years ago, even with shared hosting, you generally got a dedicated IP from most companies, but hosting companies started using other ways to point to different domains on same server a long time ago. My point being, and David would have to confirm, I think that the whole IP covering x numbers of domains on that computer would have to be blocked or unblocked? - OS
  20. Who knows BigJ45 well? Hint hint.... That was one of the best gatherings we've ever had, along with Mark's place. - OS
  21. Old post, but again, the state statute does not apply to Knoxville; they legally rejected it. Unless you want to argue that a municipality can pick and choose which sections of a given statute they accept and which sections they reject. It is a Knoxville city park. Gun possession is illegal in Knoxville city parks. Why would the fair change that? - OS
  22. I'm back on there. I bet everyone else is too. - OS
  23. They apparently have more steel in them than 870's, no kidding... H&R Pardner® Pump - OS
  24. TICS cuts out at 10pm, and WM doesn't want to start a transaction up that might not get finished, since you can't know for sure how quickly TICS will respond. Can't really blame them on that one. - OS
  25. Well, it won't do a thing for you that a TN permit won't. Not one additional state covered. Many fewer, actually. - OS
