  1. If you know what broke, they'll send you the parts for free. If you don't, give 'em a call and send it in, they'll fix it for free and throw in a free mag. Costs you the shipping one way. - OS
  2. Just wow. I simply find it difficult to believe that any LEO in TN would do that, but especially the supposedly universally well-trained THP. First I've ever heard of this ... are there any other sources with counterpoint to this version? - OS
  3. It is. It's just that instead of FFLs accessing the federal data base directly, our legislature has put the state of TN in between. Hence the $10 TN TAX of "TICS" to access the FEDERAL FREE "NICS". - OS
  4. Graveyard shift. Memphis. Narcotics cache. Does anyone live long enough to acquire the insurance? - OS
  5. Any of stuff related to the security holes found in 64 bit Linux servers over the last few days? Several ways to get root access, apparently. Survivorlistboards just one big site that was totally down for over 24 hours, for example. - OS
  6. "Off year" elections are traditionally much lower and indeed are probably about 38%. - OS
  7. Well, it's not just places that serve booze that post, ya know. And not just restaurants of all types either. - OS
  8. So, that's an offer of free hosting for his domain? Robert, if you were local, might could get you a site formatted and show you how to update it, depending on exactly what you want to do with it. Pretty tough to teach at a distance though. But then again, you don't seem to want to put any effort into it, so...? - OS
  9. See the other thread. Jason just posted... Heck, it's worth putting off till Halloween to be able to have it at his place! - OS
  10. Congrats on a fine shootin iron... I wore my Blackhawk .357 this afternoon and evening...not bad at all with the nice wide and thick Belt Man. - OS
  11. Well, I guess a liquor store could legally post in TN, just like any other biz, eh? - OS
  12. Hear hear. But we seem to be in the vast minority on the issue. - OS
  13. There are hippies today? At least, hippies under 60 years old? Are you sure you don't have all those goths and punks and whatevers confused with hippies? - OS
  14. Law is still nice and gray. Only illegal to possess handgun while "under the influence". Only place you can't drink while carrying at all by law is in public establishment that sells booze for consumption. - OS
  15. Yeah, everybody asks. There's a little play between bottom of grip and top of spare mag. Just as your fingers scootch in there, gun releases from retainment, pops right into your hand. Really quick. Also not necessary for holster to be anchored in pocket, since release doesn't require you to actually pull against the holster for gun to pop out. - OS
  16. It's not on website, so still don't know full story on it maybe... - OS
  17. You probably haven't updated to 3.6.10 yet. - OS
  18. Seems very low traffic since the security glitch started yesterday. So, this is a stock Mossberg item now? Made in SA like the Plinkster? - OS
  19. Far as I know, yeah, but that may well be what differentiates the different domains all running under same IP? Yeah, should work for now, but who knows what is going on?... this new "attack site" report suggests that there's some Bad Things happening within the server farm that houses TGO, and that we may continue to see some "guilt by association" type probs with email or access itself. - OS
  20. I suspect you're seeing something akin to our own generic "no guns" signs that used to be posted in liquor/beer stores, that simply warns of separate offense for carrying there, but not related to permit carry. I just posted in the opencarry forums in the NC section, to see what NC residents say about it. Carry in Liquor Stores? - OS
  21. Well, only David and/or hosting company techs could get to bounced mail. Here are headers from email sent from TNgunowners.com to me at my domain, when changing email: 72.44.88.31:58282 seems to perhaps be the exact identifyer? Maybe try that? 22. Repeating, can find nothing in NC law re liquor stores and carry, only places that serve for onsite consumption, so I do believe you are confused on that point: ----------------------------- § 14‑269.3. Carrying weapons into assemblies and establishments where alcoholic beverages are sold and consumed. (a) It shall be unlawful for any person to carry any gun, rifle, or pistol into any assembly where a fee has been charged for admission thereto, or into any establishment in which alcoholic beverages are sold and consumed. Any person violating the provisions of this section shall be guilty of a Class 1 misdemeanor. ( This section shall not apply to the following: (1) A person exempted from the provisions of G.S. 14‑269; (2) The owner or lessee of the premises or business establishment; (3) A person participating in the event, if he is carrying a gun, rifle, or pistol with the permission of the owner, lessee, or person or organization sponsoring the event; and (4) A person registered or hired as a security guard by the owner, lessee, or person or organization sponsoring the event. (1977, c. 1016, s. 1; 1981, c. 412, s. 4, c. 747, s. 66; 1993, c. 539, s. 165; 1994, Ex. Sess., c. 24, s. 14©.) ---------------------------- - OS
  23. EDIT: Additional info: "North Carolina law also prohibits any person carrying a gun, rifle, or pistol into any assembly where a fee has been charged for admission or into any establishment where alcoholic beverages are both sold and consumed."
