  1. The plants sex out after 2-3 months, depending. Male marijuana plants are quite distinctive. Once you've seen the difference, you can pick them out long before they ever form the first pollen sac. They males immediately put all their effort into making those, and lose overall foliage and potency from then on. The pollen itself contains no THC, or at least not enough for a buzz. - OS
  2. Yeah, way back when I ... um.. er...well, you know, knew of some folks who grew weed, getting the seed from high quality Mex/Columbian/whatever was imperative. Replanting TN weed that had gone to fruition was never as good, and each generation lost potency. Something about the latitude, length of days, angle of sunlight, whatever. Of course, a grower on top of the situation pulls the males as soon as they sex out, so you don't get seeds period, unless they accidentally get pollinated from somebody else's field. There are many many nuances to growing pot, and especially if using artificial lighting indoors. I've never really understood how the government is able to produce anything remotely consistent as far as the medically legal stuff is concerned, and maybe they actually don't. All the federal legal stuff used to come from the one federal pot farm run down at Ole Miss, maybe still does. I've also never really understood all the California medical sales situation, either, where with a doctor's certificate you can buy. But they show a wide variety of pot varieties for sale, but it's still illegal to grow it, so have never understood where all those different strains of pot actually come from. - OS
  3. "(2) The term "dangerous weapon" means a weapon, device, instrument, material, or substance, animate or inanimate, that is used for, or is readily capable of, causing death or serious bodily injury, except that such term does not include a pocket knife with a blade of less than 2 1/2 inches in length." - OS
  4. Damn, how about we just double tax YOUR statist ass, and all the others who keep saying tax tax tax? I should have the right to grow any damn thing I want on my own turf for personal use. This includes tomatoes, okra, tobacco, marijuana, and opium. Tax free. I should be able to make my own whiskey, too, if I lived in even a marginally free frigging country. - OS
  5. Or the Whigs, even. Actually, nothing will change. This is just part of the good cop/bad cop cycle. Same ole. - OS
  6. The extra M in Remington costs more. Seriously, I don't own either model, but I read over and over again that the 770 is "ok" but nowhere near the build quality of the 700 series. I'm sure you'll get some more informed decisions, but Googling will find many other forum discussions on same issue. - OS
  7. Ought to sell well to fans of 11 teams in the SEC. - OS
  8. Oh, okay, I had to refresh my memory. Tennessee Hunting Rights Amendment (2010) - Ballotpedia It IS on the ballot this Nov, with the exact wording in the OP. I guess I'm on the "what does this actually change?" side? - OS
  9. Thought that already was enacted during last session or two? Or was it just enacted to add it as a constitutional referendum, or what? - OS
  10. Old post, but of course it's still in the works, even though ObamaCare 1 didn't call for it. My terrible insurance just went up 50 bucks/month, even though they've never had to pay the first dime yet in the 5 years I've had it. How many folks out there are like me, can barely afford to keep catastrophic health insurance, but can't really afford very much actual health care? I've been saving for a year just so I can have a full physical and another test or two without totally upsetting the budget. De gummit is already scheduled to step in a few more years and start subsidizing folks for premiums; that's but a short step from taking it over period. And I imagine that timeframe is going to be bumped forward, as more and more folks find they can't afford the premium increases that all the insurance companies are loading up. Not that I think ObamaCare is worth a crap, but I don't have very much sympathy for the insurance companies either. Maybe if any actually go out of business I'll change my viewpoint. - OS
  11. You can go the other route, too. The conventional description of heaven actually sounds like hell to me. Maybe the translations got mixed up, like "oh no, the word was celebrate, not celibate!" - OS
  12. Next Knox gun show is the 16th. - OS
  13. Note that at least here, the almost constant protest across from the clinics on Concord, the protesters are not allowed on the clinics' properties, and that includes of course their parking lots....I'd suspect that the situation is similar to that everywhere. - OS
  14. Ah...I guess it IS the width that triggers it, come to think. - OS
  15. But that leaves out a whole tier of corruption. Anytime a position is appointed rather than elected, lobbyists shed a tear. And they're the "honest" ones. - OS
  16. Yeah, how come that photo didn't scale down automagically like other large ones? - OS
  17. Maybe infamous, considering the reason for the mention. - OS
  18. Just to get you off to a good start, you may as well use the correct name: Miller Analogies Test. - OS
  19. Handgunlaw.us NRA-ILA :: OpenCarry.org - A Right Unexercised is a Right Lost! - OS
  20. TCA doesn't give a timeline for renewals. Your previous permit it good indefinitely until you get renewal, assuming you keep receipt. I really don't see what diff it makes. - OS
  21. Why haven't any of those people gone to the police? That's obviously assault, probably aggravated assault. - OS
  22. I suspect the TN ABC is not only inept, but very crooked too. - OS
  23. No, that was done away with last session also. - OS
  24. Why? Who cares how long a renewal takes? - OS
  25. "Andersonville" area. Sorta south of Norris in the sticks. Somewhere. - OS
