  1. So, did you notice all 5 of the Springfield XDs in use there malfunctioning, as was reported in another thread? What guns did you and your wife use? - OS
  2. ??? Only SuperTuck on Crossbreed site IS the "Supertuck Deluxe" - OS
  3. As close to free as you'll find on an actual public range is the Norris range. $40 June to June. The more you go, the cheaper each visit. - OS
  4. Not sure what the issue was at Norris, but sure, unsafe doofuses can show anywhere, you always must be vigilant. Generally, it's not overly crowded there, especially during the week. I don't mess with the handgun side much, just shoot them at variety of stuff over on the rifle side in between shooting rifles. - OS
  5. Good find -- Amazon was where I bought one of my previously, but was offered by Amazon itself, along with its free (but slow) "super saving shipping". - OS
  6. 3x or 4x fixed is fine for minute of squirrel/tin can, but if you want to shoot precisely on those 3" .22 targets at 50 yards like many do (or hit that squirrel's head), that 9x power is pretty much necessary. - OS
  7. Just noticed that the thread title said "cheap" I just did a search, looks like this scope in black or silver has gone UP since I bought my two ... must have been a glut on them for awhile. Here's about best price, but plus shipping, too: Bushnell 22 Rimfire Rifle Scope 3-9x 32mm Multi-X Reticle with Rings Matte - MidwayUSA - OS
  8. Among the best kydex hybrid, sure. Doesn't rank for those of us who prefer all leather, and leather belt loops rather than metal/kydex clips. - OS
  9. For inexpensive option, hard to beat Bushnell .22 Rimfire 3-9x32. Generally ~ $40 delivered, comes with tip off rings. Great blend of performance/price, I have two of them. If you want to go higher end, the sky's about the limit. - OS
  10. Yep, strictly a bench range. I think there are other options if you actually join the Volunteer Rifle Club which uses the facility. All the supervision you want, though. And more. - OS
  11. I think you have Convention Center confused with Expo Center or something. Never been a gun show in the Convention Center to my knowledge, if that's what you were suggesting. - OS
  12. That almost certainly IS the center of mass safe...I noticed that they have been sold under several distribution names in the last couple years. Cabelas was selling them for a while also, under even another name. That large one is $35 with shipping, definitely a better price than COM's site. You don't want the "medium" one. - OS
  13. I dunno. We freed everybody. Then we freed the blacks. Then the women. Then the blacks and other minorities again. But we refused to free the women again. 'Bout time to free white men again pretty soon? - OS
  14. Well, it's been kicked around a little, but I still don't really get it. NRA says to vote for it. But I don't see what it changes, at all. I mean, basically it says you have a right to hunt/fish, except when it is barred, as opposed to gun carry, which says you don't have a right, except when it is granted. - OS
  15. Totally concur. - OS
  16. I certainly agree, but two lawyers on TGO do not, claiming that only an old/antique switchblade could be legally considered a "curio, ornament or keepsake" and that possessing a contemporary switchblade in your home is indeed a Class A misdemeanor. - OS
  17. Cheapest around is of course John Sevier Range in North Knox County, just 5.50 for 2 hours. But it's pretty uptight range marshal controlled shooting situation, bench only (sitting down), and closest targets are I believe over 10 yards. - OS
  18. I don't think it says on site. It's not particularly heavy...I'll try to remember to pull it out of car tomorrow and weight....PM me to remind me if I haven't done it by early afternoon. - OS
  19. Either standard "continental ring" or: Three Stooges 3 Hellos - OS
  20. Sounds like Norris Watershed range is the place. $40/year for each of you for June to June. Very cheap assuming you go once in a while. $20 one time use. - OS
  21. To echo Chucktshoes, yes of COURSE it's a tax, since the feds will do the background check for free, no TN involvement needed at all. Just another example of doing badly what need not be done at all, and charging you for it to boot. - OS
  22. I have one, works fine. Obviously, given a little time and the right tool, the cable is easily defeated, but I don't know of anything better short of bolting the thing down to the frame somewhere. Advantage of this one is that you can use it for car and flying both, as FG mentions. - OS
  23. So, it'll be about 10 years before they finally stick him, then? - OS
  24. Belt attachments on already widest part of rig are never optimum is my take on that style holster, regardless of maker. - OS
  25. Oh, horse pucky. C'mon, the odds of 5 out of any 5 XDs malfing in the same short time span are pretty much the same as for 5 out of any 5 Glocks: that is, right at a bazillion to one, unless your "heat of battle" training was in molasses or something. - OS
