  1. The exact same check would still be run through NICS, just like other states do. No real option to bypass that under federal law AFAIK? Just cuts TICS and the $10 tax out of the loop. - OS
  2. Romero did both of them. Wrote/directed/edited first one, co-wrote/produced the recent one. - OS
  3. You can loan it to him for temporary use for any lawful sporting purpose without involving FFL. Temporary is not specified. - OS
  4. Hell, just another case of gummit doing badly what need not be done at all -- and charging you for it to boot. - OS
  5. You sure are a worrywart. Statute is clear, as long as ammo is not in the chamber, who cares? You can duct tape it to the barrel if you want. (e)(1)doesn't even mention the word "magazine". - OS
  6. It is more of a database photo management/catalog program. Has various editing functions, but that is not its primary purpose. Does make slide shows and web based galleries, though. Here's a review from one of the long time premier digital imaging site: Adobe Lightroom 3 Review: 1. Introduction: Digital Photography Review - OS
  7. Forgive the obvious: is forearm all the way forward? Does follower move when you push it with finger? Mag tube is pretty simple, either spring or follower must be broken, cocked, twisted, whatever. Get any gun blaster with acetone, toluene etc up in there? Follower is plastic and can melt/distort. (you can get a metal one to replace). Take apart and inspect, only way you'll know. - OS
  8. The Tea Party will not survive the GOP assimilation over time. At best, it can only bump it somewhat to the right, and that likely a temporary trend. The "good guy/bad guy" two party tyranny will continue, at least until a catastrophic period occurs. - OS
  9. Really. Now, a rouged rogue would be most unsettling! - OS
  10. I'd be wary of any male ranger wearing rouge, period. To Refleks: HCP carry rules are on TN State Park official site, too, at: Tennessee State Parks: Policies Exception 4: While State Parks' rules and regulations prohibit firearm possession and use, Public Chapter 428 of 2009 created an exception in state firearms law that allows individuals with a valid "carry permit" under TCA § 39-17-1351 to carry a handgun within the boundaries of all state parks. While this new law makes an exception for possession, it does not make exception to the use of a firearm. Discharging a weapon in non-designated areas of our parks is still an offense. If a permit holder fires a weapon in self-defense, the holder bears the burden of proof to avoid potential charges under "prohibited firearm use." - OS
  11. What's confusing? You can carry in TN state parks, period. You can carry in National Parks according to the normal carry regulations of the state in which the park resides. However, no carry in federal buildings in the parks, which are supposed to be posted. The only thing relatively confusing about any kind of park carry in TN regards municipal ones. - OS
  12. Yes Perhaps hand them a copy of the statute? 39-17-1311 With this part highlighted?: ( (1) The provisions of subsection (a) (no carry in parks) shall not apply to the following persons: (H) Persons possessing a handgun, who are authorized to carry the handgun pursuant to § 39-17-1351, while within or on a public park, natural area, historic park, nature trail, campground, forest, greenway, waterway or other similar public place that is owned or operated by the state, a county, a municipality or instrumentality thereof, except as otherwise provided in subsection (d); - OS
  13. 1. "polymer" is "plastic" 2. nobody has shown that Charter uses polymer/plastic at all. I don't believe they do. Do you know they do? - OS
  14. I did various forms of digital imaging for a living for about a decade, and never used 40% of full Photoshop's potential (any of the versions). Most folks can get by with a freebie program or two. Certainly, you should think about going pro if you exceed what Elements allows. - OS
  15. I wouldn't cross the street on the chance of saving $20 on a heater I wanted that was right in front of me. Oh, that online thing vs. gun shop: bought a gun from Academy; they are very upfront about no help from them after the sale. And you're not going to get any help from out of town vendors at gun shows either, ya know. - OS

    G19 question

    oops, wrong thread.
  17. Sorry to hear of the adversity, but your pluck is admirable. Keeping a good thought for things to turn around for ya. best, - OS
  18. Gordon Liddy has long said that his wife owns lots of firearms. - OS
  19. At least one charge originally filed in 2005 was later dropped, perhaps that's the one to which you refer. I see no reference where Delay and Co. has even claimed the money laundering/conspiracy was legal at the time he did it, just claimed it didn't happen the way it is alleged. - OS
  20. Look, most of the pols that have been on the hill for more than a couple terms should be in prison, and more than a few should be hanged for treason. The politically motivated tendency is to NOT charge them with anything. - OS
  21. Yeah, and the main politics were that a federal probe was done and no federal charges were placed, so the fix was in on that level (I mean, justice was served). But Texas didn't cop out and proceeded with state charges. No way a man gets tried for breaking a law when it was legal in this country anymore, not even in Podunk, MS. And certainly not with the high powered lawyer power that Delay had. - OS
  22. Note that when the lips get too wide is mainly when feeding probs happen with High Points. - OS
  23. Does the armed security guard certification include it? Probably the unarmed does not? - OS
  24. kb4ns said not all knives seemed to be banned to TN, only reason I mentioned. - OS
  25. Animated GIF and TGO sympatico. Somehow, offsite linking to that site is prevented, although the image DOES show now and then, weird. Here it is,saved and uploaded to one of my sites: - OS
