Ooooo, just saw one on cable I wasn't familiar with: Undead (Aussie flick from 2003). Very enjoyable, odd take with zombies and aliens. Undead (2003) - IMDb - OS

Really is. That may be the biggest expanse of square miles in the state without a public fee place to shoot at least 100 yards. - OS

There's not ONE outdoor public range in all of Shelby County or the adjoining ones? - OS

So you can't really sell ammo there as a non-vendor then, unless you do it on the sly, right? - OS

Yeah, I know for a fact that all them Ruger and Marlin rifles at Wally's are actually made from pot metal in the Philippines, too. - OS

I guess something good came from Wikileaks after all

Sure they could control every aspect of the US net, via every persuasive method all the way to martial law, but my point is they can't do it by remotely flipping some hardware or software switches, as the military/govt. is not in control of the commercial infrastructure that makes it all click. Though they'd like to be, and may well actually be ere long. DARPA, or NSA, or Joe Biden, etc, didn't shut down WikiLeaks' reference in EveryDNS with technology, somebody simply "asked" them to do it and EveryDNS knuckled under and did it. Same as Bezos on Amazon. - OS -

Didn't mean for it to come off cold, just clarifying. He said "pearl grips" You said "faux pearl grips" He said he didn't want "real pearl grips", so was not so interested in your information. I showed him you pointed out just what he wanted. I could have defined "faux" for him I suppose, but know that generally things made an effort to learn, stick. Note that I didn't even diss the gun. All to show that as always, few good deeds go unpunished. - OS

Let me see here. We're chasing around maybe 50,000 16th century fundamental religious zealot tribal nomads with AKs between Kabul and Islamabad, while supporting both those countries' totally corrupt and ineffectual governments. It's like Elliot Ness making a deal with Al Capone to off his competitors and win the hearts and minds of the rest of Chicago. Look, if revealing the hypocrisy and absurdity of what we are doing there is made more manifest by these dispatches, perhaps the hue and cry will get us the hell out quicker, and save more US lives. - OS -

DARPA hasn't had a real handle on the internet since Hector was a pup. A couple of DC phone calls to EveryDNS.net from the right folks would be plenty; it sure was for Amazon Cloud hosting. And Jeff Bezos seems to have turned into a general all around ahole anyway. DNS is handled world wide on thousands of servers, the EveryDNS is just a paid convenience to speed things up, take DNS server management offsite for various reasons (DOS attacks), etc. Assange can get DNS service from any host that will accept him. Wikileaks is on several international servers now; I'm sure Assange will choose one at some point to again have pointers from wikileaks.org, or .net, or .com again (I've actually forgotten which ones he owns). Or maybe not; he may feel that having multiple mirrored sites with no universal US "org/com/net" pointer will be less susceptible to hacking and/or political influence. - OS -
He said "faux pearl grips" Look up "faux". - OS

Wow, good to know. Dunno if my old one has the beryllium fp or not. I have dry fired it some, not obsessively, but who knows, maybe a hundred times. I'll refrain from that in the future, though. thanks, - OS

Actually, the ".GOV" can't, except by convincing any given host to drop it, especially ones that aren't physically hosted in the USA. However, Julian IS having trouble keeping a hoster all of a sudden. Worldwide, they keep dumping him. Matter of fact, of all the mirrors I've seen listed, these are about it right now: wikileaks.dd19.de www.wikileaks.pl www.wikileaks.fi That's Germany, Poland, and Finland, btw. - OS edit: btw, if anyone wants to make a donation for support: http://wikileaks.dd19.de/support.html -
In case you like Hillary as a woman president...
Oh Shoot replied to a topic in 2A Legislation and Politics
If she runs, it will be with rock star credentials only, but with the way America works, I suppose she could win. Tina Fey is probably equally capable, but should Palin somehow assemble the right army of advisers, she could indeed likely be as competent in the job as most anyone else, since it's mostly going to be as the figurehead going down with the ship anyway. Maybe it'll be Sarah vs Hillary. Wow. Since O often seems like he's already conceding he'll be a one term prez, he still seems too cool about it all, leading credence to the notion that elections will have to be suspended due to some "national emergency". - OS -
Carry in Georgia with Tn permit?
Oh Shoot replied to gr8smiles's topic in Handgun Carry and Self Defense
Well, the "interpretation change" regarding firearms still doesn't make any sense to me, as TCA has not changed in this time period and has never mentioned commercial truckers. And, US DOT rules have never mentioned personal firearm possession at all, and neither does TN DOT. I know, have CDL and researched DOT gun stuff quite thoroughly when I got it about 6 years ago, as was thinking of hitting the road with a piece, as I had for about a year in my youth (back long before a CDL was even required). So I can only suggest departmental urban legal myth. Lord knows there have been plenty of them regarding gun possession through the years, and they continue to some degree even now. Thanks for following up on this interesting little aside. - OS -
Well, not like I really know, but I'll chime in and mention that: 39-17-1307 says it's illegal to carry a club 39-17-1308 says with certification "in the use of a club or baton" it's okay Sounds pretty general to me, meaning, any certificate would be a defense to carrying any club, but then again I'm sure this is just another of our weapons laws that most any two given lawyers could disagree on also. I seriously thought about getting the training so I could carry a sap if I wanted. But who knows how good a defense the certification would actually be. Maybe good enough for a sap or a kuboton but not good enough for a baseball bat or spiked mace? Again, gray. - OS

Damn rare here, impressive. - OS

Good enough, I reckon. I don't think the Mossad is after him, or the FSB (KGB), since he hasn't bared any of their secrets, or he'd probably already been zapped. Of course, we don't do that sort of thing any more (and I guess we really don't, unfortunately -- sure would save a lot of tax money). So that just leaves the various Arab nations who are chagrined over one release or the other. After all, etymology of "assassin" IS Arabic. - OS

Oh, about same reason Salman Rushdie had to? - OS

Two women, actually. Maybe during same sexual fray? Go Julian! - OS

Guy makes me mad when I just see him now, after hearing how he threatened another of our own, Bluemax, and after my personally hearing him harass the two guys standing near the snack area outside the actual vendor floor. And of course, your saga. I actually made note of his name at one point off his badge, but forgot it (also have forgotten name of security company). I can't believe he's made it intact this long if he behaves that way on all of whatever other security gigs he works. - OS

I hate to say it, but the rare one or two I've generally seen aren't necessarily a PR plus for us. - OS

Works in IE and FireFox. <Control -> (minus) to go smaller <Control 0> (zero) to reset to normal. Same as using menu to zoom, but quicker. Back to topic, sorry. - OS

Site hanging on refreshes some tonight, waiting on tacticalrepublic.com, something TGO belongs to, I guess; or is that the source of the national ads? Whatever, that's what its waiting for when it hangs. - OS
