It certainly wasn't until less than two years ago. It had previously been long unlawful to carry loaded firearms in your vehicle in TN period. Then only a handgun was legal, but only with a permit. Then also a long gun, with permit, as long as a round was not chambered. Now finally, any gun, loaded or not, by anyone not prohibited from possession period. Though it still takes a permit to legally keep them in vehicle in posted lots, employer lots, or school property. - OS

Those are all failure to pay as per a court order though, yes? Like child support, fines, or lawsuit settlement. Again, they are being jailed for disobeying a court order. "Normal debt" is not subject to a court order to pay. If the lender/provider/seller has no lien on some collateral he can collect, he just has to eat it. - OS

Yeah, they went from 15 to 20 to 30 back during the time I was using them. But $50 from Buds. They did relent down to whatever the lower price was at the time after a "discussion" when I pointed out that was not mentioned on their site (used to have pricing, before site became eCommerce one only). However they did point out that on Bud's site their FFL listing did show the $50. Garufa is right about that part being nixed btw, I see they are still a Preferred Dealer on Bud's and that indeed the fee shown there is $30 (+ $15 each for additional ones + TICS.) Fighting Sheep Dog was still $10+TICS just before Xmas btw, and they seem to be registered with with all the biggies already too. - OS

No Gun Signs Coming Down at Legislative Plaza
Oh Shoot replied to 300winmag's topic in 2A Legislation and Politics
TN State Parks are either officially designated as such or they are not, long before this little battle. If you mean, municipal parks, then yes, the parks statute should allow a permit holder to carry there. But of course we know how this battle over "the definition of a park" is already being contested here and there around the state. - OS -
How much now? Their site has turned into online sales portal only I see. - OS

No Gun Signs Coming Down at Legislative Plaza

Funny how there was no issue about the cost of putting them up in the first place, eh? - OS -
I used to before they bumped price twice. And about double that for anything from Bud's. Agree, never any problems though. - OS

Yep. Never understood places that don't want to do them at all or discourage them by charging outrageous fee. At just $20 per, that should generally translate to ~ 100 clams per hour for only one person's time with no outlay for stock. Seems like the easiest money a shop could make. - OS

Though I admittedly basically drifted through college with no clear intent of what the hell I was there for, I paid for it all, including plenty of partying. Bout only help from the folks was just throwing some "here treat yourself" bucks my way from time to time, birthday money and such. How? 6 summers of digging ditches for the utility board, killing trees on a land crew, and sweating in a paper mill during both grade and high school, a couple of small scholarships, another summer in the paper mill after freshman year. Knocked the grades outta the park freshman year, and then cruised on that the other three years, worked 20-30 hours a week in private clubs (was a bartender before I was old enough to legally drink, and this was before liquor by the drink was legalized, so admittedly there was lots of money to make doing that then), did research for a couple of profs, whatnot. Even included dropping out a year and hitting the hippie dippie Summer of Love trail (one summer late). :) Anyway, lots of ways to approach the situation, and it's certainly not a given that you just must simply borrow enough money to go straight though to the exclusion of the rest of life. Ain't knocking the folks who do it that way, but purt obvious that you'd better have a reasonable plan and expectations of ROI upon graduation, and you two exemplify how you do both methods. But it's also purt obvious that at least half the folks who go way in debt for college have some bad combo of unrealistic expectations, poor planning, or like how has been mentioned, just a devil may care attitude about personal responsibility -- the last of which is probably the worst thing of all that liberal politics has done to this country over time. - OS

The actual item: http://palmettostatearmory.com/ruger-rifle-american-rimfire-compact-22lr-25rd-mag-8307.html It is the compact, but with non-threaded barrel. - OS

If there were no internet, then the Crash has happened, and folks will only be using the guns they already had anyway. Or swapping them for food. - OS

I hit it first day for Marco. Regardless of his faults, I still think it's either him or another Dem in the White House, no other options at this point. - OS

Not physically here, just a mailing address. Perhaps that means they are incorporated in TN, but don't know even that as fact. - OS
-
Sure don't see how they could be free float. Whole idea is that handguard don't interact with barrel, and the end cap holds the handguard and barrel together. - OS
-
You must renew before expiration to be able to continue to carry before new permit arrives. After expiration, you have six months before you have to start over with the whole process. - OS
-
The traditional milspec and I guess still most all around common handguard on ARs is this style. If these are what you mean, they are not free float, so you'll need one that fits into standard delta ring/end cap like in Wingshooter's post #5. Most free float ones required changing barrel nut. - OS

4. We only have 11. Depressing to note that Kali and NY have 84 between them. And now that FL looks like has swung to a Dem state ongoing, throw in 29 more. Well, only occasion in recent times that would have made a diff would have been to elect Al Gore in 2000. - OS

It'll likely be even worse this time around if The Donald gets the nod. - OS

You are quite right, I was only adding the totals shown in original screen shot in first post. Actual total participation was: GOP: 284,120 Dem: 250,974 Nonetheless, I'd posit NH will most likely still go Dem in the general, just like the last three elections. The overall Dem voting populous is not excited by Hillary, and barring federal charges she'll be the nominee, but the party will still get the vote out in the general. - OS

No Gun Signs Coming Down at Legislative Plaza

"So presumably, handgun carry permit owners will drop their pistols, along with their car keys and cell phones, in the Tupperware dishes outside the metal detectors on their way into the Plaza." Handling of loaded guns in public...who thinks this part can possibly be a good idea? - OS -
Shouldn't be any icebergs on this one's route. - OS

Unarmed, long knife and tomahawk combatives course

What are "non-stop toe" boots/shoes? -
Don't see how it matters in NH. As total votes suggest, GOP ain't gonna win there no matter who the Dem nominee is. - OS

And the Senate yesterday. http://www.nashvillescene.com/pitw/archives/2016/02/09/senators-honor-sniper-gun-as-official-tennessee-state-rifle - OS

I think they just send out automatic renewal notice about 6 weeks before expiration, so it could still be in pipeline. But to make sure all is okay and to prevent having to do the DMV visit/wait, I guess you could just call TNDOS and get them to send renewal form to whichever address you want and update correct address on the form. Call (615) 251-8590 to get it straight is what I'd do. - OS
