  3. Oh, man...forget my comments....I forget the thing was double/single action...was thinking striker fired. - OS
  4. Wal-Mart beats it. The UMC 250 round box is cheaper per round. - OS
  5. No. UltraMax. - OS
  6. The 250 UMC "mega pack" is cheaper per round than that now. Also cheaper than the Federal 50 boxes. - OS

  8. Oh cool...I'm thinking 'bout doing the same once I catch up on a couple bills....enjoy... - OS
  9. Does one need a life to respond, or just a residence? - OS
  10. Hi Terry. (how did you know my name was Jack?) - OS Seriously, oops. As always, it's Jamie's fault.
  11. I can still run a mile in 2 days flat. Whippersnapper. - OS
  12. Must not be the correct interpretation any more? Beretta makes the same type thing for the NEOS pistol. I don't know, but I've read some letter from BATF on some forum regarding that. Add barrel, you have long barrel pistol. Add stock, you have rifle. Remove stock before barrel and you're cool. Remove barrel before stock and you can go to jail. 13. Tueller Drill my ass. Yawn. - OS
  14. A recent thread: http://www.tngunowners.com/forums/handgun-carry-self-defense/50794-make-legal-carry-without-permit-yes-no.html None proposed so far, none expected from the TN legislature this year. Welcome aboard TGO! - OS
  15. How so? You mean, like booby trap to protect property? Also, would have to be constrained in a "barrel" of some sort or wouldn't sling any pellets. - OS
  16. And more, what is the criminal charge that is being appealed? - OS
  17. Oh, dunno...at least 9 months ago, maybe a year. Got a couple of followup letters a couple months apart after that. Pretty sure it's the same deal, as is the only one I've gotten, and believe me, I seem to get EVERYthing NRA and NRA-ILA sends out. Since it was sponsored through American Rifleman, could be those who opted for a different magazine than that one upon joining did not get the scam (I mean, offer). - OS
  18. TCA 39-11-106: (1) “Handgun” means any firearm with a barrel length of less than twelve inches (12²) that is designed, made or adapted to be fired with one (1) hand;" Dunno if that is anything more than a "working definition" for the statutes, though, meaning, there doesn't seem to be an illegal act to have a 13" barreled weapon made to be fired with one hand, or whatever. - OS
  19. If you had read closer in the body of the missive, it said "since you did not order this, there is no need to return it". The followup letters have said the same thing. Indeed, I kept mine. In both cases, however, that little tidbit was not acknowledged in a prominent manner, which is why I called it "shoddy" on the part of NRA. - OS
  20. Practically every range class ammo made is somebody's claim to being the dirtiest. I can't see much diff in all the cheapo stuff I shoot, in any caliber. Plus, almost all brands vary over time...what you buy now is not necessarily the same as what you'll get two years hence. - OS
  21. I seem to have to clean my guns no matter what ammo I shoot. - OS
  22. Besides GB, CDNNsports generally has the cheapest mini 14/30 in the country. I don't see a 30 listed right now, but they are probably worth a call. Bud's shows some in stock, too. T and T out of Selmer, TN had some at the last couple of gun shows here in Knoxville, but at least a c-note more than best price online. - OS
  23. I don't know of any other rights that are against the law and require paying a fee to exercise as an exception to that law. Just like driving, carrying a handgun in TN is a privilege. The difference between a year in jail or not is $115 and up. - OS
  24. All true. Just meaning it has never been the military issued firearm for any country that has been in shooting conflict. Looks like it IS the issued sidearm of the Austrian army, no surprise. So if they had troops in on the Iraq international alliance thing, then that might "count". Yeah, even though I settled in on XD and have three, kinda thought I might pick up a G19 sometime, just to pad out the arsenal with one of the greatest all around firearms ever made. By the time I got around to it, the finger grooves say no. I'd have to settle for a much older used gun. Even when I was trying to decide between XD subbie and G26 for carry, another reason the XD got the nod because the single finger groove "separator" on the 26 didn't feel as good, even though unlike the 19, there IS room for the middle finger. Although I guess the 26/27 had this from the gitgo, wasn't added in a "generational" change. - OS
  25. I actually quickly edited by first post, as had mentioned the obvious, so yeaaaNO. - OS
