  1. Ah, IC -- never have found what the acronym stands for, but found pic of how the attachment clips work: - OS
  2. It's sweet you're dating a blind woman, but how does she shoot? - OS
  3. A single anecdote like this doesn't convince me of much of anything, I'm afraid. Try same thing at a gun show. Try same thing walking around Chilhowee when there's NO show, or go to a boxing match there. Same cop might have different take under different situation. Or maybe he didn't notice. Maybe nobody who cared inside on the trade floor noticed. Maybe if he was dressed nicely, everybody assumed he was a cop. Who knows. Then again, I don't open carry, so I don't necessarily sweat the gray details about absolutely everywhere I go. I really need to email city head attorney/DA, will put it on my list. - OS
  4. If this is best GOP can do, welcome Barack back for another 4 years. - OS
  5. This is no longer in the TCA, it was part of the "carrying in bars" statute, which has been deleted entirely. It was often debated as to whether this applied ONLY to alcohol serving establishments or businesses in general, but it's moot now, since it's gone. AFAIK the only mention of carrying in one's business is still the defense to unlawful possession/carry in 39-17-1308 which allows carry at a "person's ... place of business or premises". Which is still debatable as to exactly WHO this applies to -- meaning "owner" or just "any employee", or what? - OS
  6. I don't quite get the attachment to vest. Shows on a MOLLE/PALS background, but says uses metal speed strip S.T.R.I.K.E atttachments. What the frig is S.T.R.I.K.E. works same on PALS webbing or what? It sort of looks like it would work, but sorta not too: - OS
  7. Most of the mid to higher priced Cold Steel line is Taiwan and Japan, and most all the stainless stuff of any price. The less finished stuff (Gi Tanto, Bushman, whatever) is Chinese. Some of the machetes are South African. Have never seen a Cold Steel with India on it, though, that something new? Well, there's Buck, still makes many here, and Ka-Bar/Becker, still make most here. Ontario still a player, and they still even make the venerable Old Hickory line here I think. - OS
  8. Apparently not anymore. The Gerber I carry shows nada, but I know it's Chinese made. - OS
  9. ObamaCare is totally FUBAR. But it won't be repealed, GOP will just inject SNAFU into it. Then we'll have SNAFUBAR, where absolutely everybody loses. - OS
  10. Yeah, I don't think the GOP has any more clue now than they did under 8 years of "oh whatever" under Dubya. Being the Party of No is about as high as it can rise any more. And no, I don't think it got enough new blood to change it -- that new blood will just be diluted into The Same Ole. - OS
  11. Yeah, cdnninvestments.com or cdnnsports.com Good mag prices are a specialty there. Also, some of the cheapest gun sales in America, generally beats even Bud's. You have to download the catalog from site or get one in mail. Subscribe to their Specials email list, and it will drive you nuts unless you have lots of disposable income. - OS
  12. My comment wasn't solely regarding the "welfare state", was only inclusive of it. Punishing success and rewarding failure can be found in everything from tax codes, where half the population has little to no financial stake in the country's direction, to our "race to the bottom" educational system. We used to be a country that allowed the cream to rise to the top and the devil take the hindmost. Now we have become homogenized so that the common denominator is lowered overall. Success, innovation, and excellence is of course still possible in the USA, both on personal and corporate levels, but it's in spite of US policies and conventions, not because of them, and ever increasingly rare. - OS
  13. Well, you can't legally carry in any Regions Bank in the state, so there's a partial truth in this urban HCP legend anymore. :-\ - OS
  14. Well, it used to be. - OS
  15. All the bulk brands seem to come and go quality wise over a given span of time, but Rem Golden Bullet has become my very LAST choice over the last year or so. Bang bang pfft bang pfft bang bang pfft pfft... Many misfires. Worse than duds. Just weak fires, you worry if they made it out of the barrel. I've been relying on Federal 36 gr copper plated and Blazer 40 gr lead head mostly... - OS
  16. Had to do quick refresh on that particular one, ouch. - OS
  17. "Lick me in the arse" -- farout, I'll never feel left out of a classical music conversation again! - OS
  18. Part of the late great USA are the many policies that have penalized success and rewarded failure for so long now that we're not pulling things out without beau coup national pain. - OS
  19. Well, there ya go. Don't know that I've ever heard that seemingly perfectly logical explanation. - OS
  20. Wow, Mark, those did quite well! Especially the belt loop and the tooled cover version. Assuming the pool of 'hawk owners is pretty big, you may really be on to something. Kinda hard to tell from the initial offerings there, only 5 different bidders spread among the 3 items. Maybe you'd better think about doing a generic hatchet belt loop version too, to include lots more folks... - OS
  21. Yep, and 9mm +p is higher than .40 Never have understood why the .40 is the one to KaBoom Glocks. - OS
  22. Me too. I was 9. Athens, TN was truly a great place to come of age, for me. We didn't have the first two kids come over from the "Negro High School" until '64, as juniors, guy and a gal. Only Hubert stayed, graduated with me in '66 and there were still only a handful of blacks in whole McMinn High population at that time. Matter of fact, all in all, things weren't drastically different in '66 than in '57 in Athens. - OS
  23. I have one for a Ruger Single Six...quite adequate looks and workmanship if you don't need tooled filigree. - OS
  24. The first time law was changed we couldn't carry in bars, only restaurants. That only lasted a couple or three months, then we couldn't carry anywhere that served booze, period. I've always found handgunlaw.us to be the best carry site for being current, period. - OS
  25. What trouble? Other than keeping a gun in car that could be stolen, if that's what you mean. - OS
