  1. Sorry, but until you can have loaded firearm in car without permit, that statement simply does not ring true. Hell, I can't have a truly loaded long gun in my car even with an HCP, but I can in my home. - OS
  2. You ain't old enough to have quit drinking. - OS
  3. He probably didn't carry the cheapo Cold Steel one with plastic handle shown in second link. - OS
  4. This "detail strip", is that where you actually remove some of the components before hosing down with brake cleaner? - OS
  5. I just shipped one today. Happened to be to H&R, but could have just as easily been instate to an individual. I printed Ground UPS label (I have an account through eBay), dropped it off at UPS store, done. Could have done same at USPS, legal to ship rifle there also. You can print/pay for Priority labels online, other classes with eBay USPS account. You are supposed to "inform" of firearm, but only on shipments that are NOT going to FFL (BATF FAQ online is wrong). Sometimes people forget to do that. Since nothing is notated anywhere to that regard, everyone else in the delivery chain forgets too. - OS
  6. I assume he was figuring in cost of the certification class, though I've not heard of one costing over $100. - OS
  7. I guess you mean "implied" ... anyway, I'd like to see a legal reference to support any of that statement, especially the speeding ticket part. - OS
  8. Sort of suddenly retired at 59 and began walking a lot, and not necessarily in the safest part of town (if there actually IS one). That and fact had kept a gun in car most of my life prompted me to go ahead and do things legally. Also, They were getting closer. - OS
  9. Only openly. Concealed takes a permit process just as here. A little cheaper at $60. And of course, only those who are "allowed" to own a firearm. I don't think all felons should be denied owning or carrying weapons, maybe no felon should, after serving time/probation. Another long debated topic though, and not for here I suppose. - OS
  10. It is all of that. The sheath is nifty for holding the secondary knife and also having room for a survival tin or whatever, but the plastic insert deal sux, since there's no retension and it rattles. Folks generally cut a thin plastic shim and run it down in there to shim knife, or get more serious and get the insert out somehow and heat/form it around knife (though it's not Kydex AFAIK) and stick it back in with glue. There are several custom sheath makers who offer a good snug fit Kydex sheath for the BK2, BK7, BK9, but again more than half the price of knife itself, and you lose the other utility that the factory sheath offers. - OS
  11. If you manage to pan anything but the sheath, you'll be about the first one to do so. But will look forward to your own review. Only way I can see knife itself improved is with the optional Micarta scales Which cost half as much as the BK7 itself! - OS

Yeah, let's see...here tiz, looks more complicated than Chinese arithmetic! It really feels nice in your hand, though. - OS
  13. Enjoyed the nice afternoon in the country. Nothing like being able to hang out and shoot off one's front porch, thanks so much for a nice time! - OS
  14. Screw that place. There are beau coup other places to do it. Be sure to find out who the owner is there and write a note AFTER you've spent the $$ elsewhere. - OS
  15. Correct. Only original poster and mods can post follow ups in that forum. - OS

  17. I suppose they could make it in their US plant if they thought it would sell enough to justify the tool up to crank it out. Which I'm sure it wouldn't. - OS
  18. Sure, just don't get caught with it! - OS
  19. I PM'd a few of the Usual Suspects. Surely we can't get at least a handful together on short notice to quell the cabin fever?
  20. Missed meeting you today at show, but sounds like can get another chance... Sounds perfect, several of us thought about going to Norris tomorrow, but knew it would be a total zoo. Want to PM address and I'll MapQuest it? - OS
  21. Yep, good to see everyone, only reason I really went. Show was almost exact clone of the one there on New Year's Day. 'Bout same prices, too. Lots of the non-Glock 33 round mags there for $20 each. Although there was one guy hawking plastic 10 round Saiga shotgun mags for $50, as that's the other rumored ban. I bought some nylon strapping/buckles for a pack modification, that's it. - OS

    PLUM CRAZY

Ya must've gotten files or file name mixed up or something. I downloaded image, it is definitely a vertical image. - OS
  23. Point still very valid. The smallest model, the 28, is same size as 26/27 and the larger model 25 is well, even larger. Besides x number of Glockites just wanting one for a collectible, would seem to be 0 market for either one in US. - OS
  24. Just get a molle holster and clip or tie it to front of left shoulder strap, or perhaps right side of pack, toward the bottom, with butt forward and up, both assuming you're right handed. - OS
  25. Oooo, truly nifty old baby there. - OS
