  1.   It was my understanding that Benefactors could do it right away?  You definitely looked under My Profile/ Edit My Profile/Display Name?   If not, an admin should look in ere long.   - OS
  2.     Any product you can buy at retail pricing and legally resell for a significant profit will remain in short supply at those retail outlets.  Can you think of anything else that fits that scenario right now? I can't.   - OS
  3.   Yep, folks been saying that for almost 3.5 years now.   - OS
  4.   CPAC just named TN legislature as "most conservative in the US".   - OS
  5.   Yeah, traditional term for movie squibs means the small charges set that go off in the "targets" to emulate bullet hits -- bodies, walls, dirt,  whatever.   - OS
  6.   Yes, but they'd actually have to, you know, tell you that face to face. They don't want to give up the "right" to simply call a cop on the sly, without having to ever confront the person, swear out a charge, or testify in court.   - OS
  7.   Still betting on Glen getting it from Negan, the delayed "gotcha" after the cheap trick dumpster thang.   - OS
  8.   There's a good question. I couldn't say for sure. Situation not exactly mentioned in 39-17-1351. Except that all handgun permits are for "residents" of TN, and that is probably considered one of the requirements you must meet to receive or keep any permit.   However, other states have requirements regarding their own residents, which usually means getting a permit in your state of residence within a certain time period, just like here. Meaning, you wouldn't be able to use it indefinitely in most, if any, another state of which you became a resident.   Some other states also require that you have a "resident permit" from TN, meaning that you are a resident of the state I guess, since we don't have a "non-resident" one, even though they are sometimes given out to residents of neighboring states for folks who work here the required amount of time, so I guess they technically wouldn't be covered in those states with a TN permit.   - OS
  9. That is indeed pretty amazing. Don't guess I've ever seen any cat, domestic or wild, dive all the way under the water to retrieve something.   - OS
  10.   Aw...Dennis Hopper alone was worth the effort.   "Well it better not screw up my short game!"    - OS
  11.   That's exactly how Cormac wrote it in novel, the last we see or hear of Chigurh. Though the novel goes on a brief bit more regarding the sheriff meeting with his uncle and then describing a last dream, stuff that was transposed to earlier in the film.   I thought the film ended actually a bit more appropriately, thematically for a movie that is, in that it leaves the idea that Chigurh, badly damaged, still survives to wreak havoc another day, just like Evil itself does in reality.   - OS
  12.   Same.   And I thoroughly enjoyed Avatar. First movie I'd made the effort to see on big screen in quite some time, loved how far 3D tech had come plus loved the rousing story tool, classic themes of underdog struggle, love story, etc. If you're letting your political views overshadow it, you're simply losing the point of entertainment.     I also firmly believe in separating the art and the artist, in the case of all you folks who say, "I'll never see another movie with <insert liberal> in it" and such. And yeah, that includes Jane Fonda, who has made some very fine movies, and it's your loss not hers if you've deprived yourself of them.   - OS
  13. I'll say it again, most every time somebody names a "worst movie".  That ain't even in the neighborhood of the ballpark of being the worst movie ever. If you think so, you just haven't seen very many movies "in your 40+ years"!   - OS
  14. This whole shebang is 26 oz, with the 13 rounds. I don't really notice it.
  15.   I assume they will still issue them for reciprocity purposes? Matter of fact, you still need one there if you are 18-20 years old,  if you need to conceal carry because of your job, so the process isn't totally killed or anything.   So far, no state that has gone to permitless concealed carry has also done away with the permit process. VT is the only one that doesn't issue a permit at all, but they never did in the first place.   - OS
  16.   Certainly not trying to talk anyone out of what they like.   For me, just can't imagine any improvement over my Kahr PM9. About as small as any 9mm made with its capacity, all smooth contours, no safeties,  simply pull it out and pull the trigger. Even a J frame feels like a thick slab to me by comparison, plus I get 2 extra rounds and quick reload. And it's not a .380 either. ;)   - OS
  17. Just can't fathom the rationale of a cocked and locked type pocket gun myself.   Not a matter of safety, just deployment. Hell, even most pocket revolvers have bobbed hammer or no hammer at all, and that's to negate even the uncocked encumbrance of something extra sticking out from the body of the gun to slow down getting the thing out smoothly.   - OS
  18.   C'mon,  get real.   People all over the world mostly profess the religion in which they were raised.  If the whole population of TGO had been magically raised by Muslim parents in a Muslim culture, we'd be at least 90% Muslim too.   Transplant all them same folks over there to the USA as babes and have them raised by Christian parents, they'd be mostly Christian.   In cultures all over the world, denying the religion you are raised in is the exception rather than the norm. Where of course the religion is virtually the same as the state, it's near 100%. Much of Europe was that way regarding Catholicism for 1200 years or so.   - OS
  19.   Wow, 141 fatalities in the TT, and 248 fatalities in all races on that course.  Not counting another 14 by officials and spectators and whatnot.   - OS
  20.   I didn't know original poster could mark one of his own posts as best answer until this thread, though.   - OS
  21.   TN LEOs can check permit validity 24 hours a day -- I'm sure there's some state LE number where other states can call and ask for verification.   Whether they may even have database hooks in other states is a question I've asked here any number of times, because if so, it would seem to violate TCA regarding HCP database privacy. Matter of fact, DaveTN, I do believe you said you'd look into that from your LE contacts in IL?   - OS
  22.   Big change was about what, five years ago now?, when sellers could no longer even leave bad feedback for buyers. And sometime after that, seller feedback began determining the ranking in search results too, and now not just their overall FB level, but the smaller breakdown ratings also. And now, there's the eBay guarantee on top of all that for most items also.   So all in all, buyers are indeed much much more protected now than in the past.   - OS
  23.   According to handgunlaw.us, here's the letter VA sent to all the states on 2/26/16 (Idaho used as example) with which they originally were going to sever "reciprocity agreement".   Key phrase toward end, "Since this reciprocity agreement between our states was never revoked, the existing reciprocity agreement remains in effect."   http://www.handgunlaw.us/documents/VAStPoliceLettertoStates.pdf   - OS
  24.   For items not yet received, if the shipping time span in the ad has been exceeded, first step is that you choose "have not received item" and then whether you still want the item, or want a refund.   - OS
  25.   Just as point of fact, VA never actually suspended recognition at all.   - OS
