  1.   ?? That (e) section regarding the "guns in vehicle" exception does not require a carry permit.   - OS
  2.   Still betting on Glenn. I'm still mad about the dumpster theatrical dirty trick, they need to atone for that by snuffing him for real.   - OS
  3.   Same here. Difficult crosswords do the same.   - OS
  4.   The Haslam crap isn't just confined here.   - OS
  5.   If it was a rifle, and loaded or he had ammo for it with him, it was indeed unlawful.   - OS
  6.   Ya gotta admit it's picked up some, what with the talking snakes and all though.   - OS
  7.   The frame/receiver of course is a firearm -- if you're gonna risk breaking federal law, might as well send it intact, likely easier to seek mercy of the court for ignorance that way. ;)   - OS
  8.   It is actually perfectly legal by federal law for him to ship the gun to himself c/o you for safekeeping.  But actually doing it is problematic, since:   - can't do handguns by USPS - UPS and FedEx won't ship between non-licensees anymore, so that's a no go assuming you inform them of firearm in shipment, which is required by both their TOS and federal law for shipments between non-licensees.   He doesn't need a FFL to ship it on his end, he can do it himself to FFL here. The problem is that FFLs on the receiving end expect to be transferring a firearm from one individual to another via a 4473, and I doubt if any would, or even legally can, simply give you the gun to keep for him, so you need to work out that part with an FFL on your end first before he ships it.   - OS
  9.   Outdated info, statute amended last year to allow for legal use of Tannerite and similar if 18 years old,  see current 39-17-1302, 39-14-702, and 68-105-120.   The bill history:   http://wapp.capitol.tn.gov/apps/BillInfo/Default.aspx?BillNumber=SB0874   - OS
  10.   I'll accede to your research, and thanks for making the effort to look it all up;  I suppose I must be disremembering as to precise time frame of the increasing prices...   - OS
  11.   I guess not, since Hi-Point has never made a .22 firearm!   - OS
  12. Note that it is still only an exception to unlawful possession under 39-17-1307, but not to possessing in your vehicle in posted lots, school property, or employer lots that ban it by policy -- that still requires a permit as per 39-17-1313.   - OS
  13.   Well,  all I know is that new WASR 10s were everywhere for 499-525 clams pretty much right up to mid October of 2015 (bout same best price as in '14) when the Cujir announcement about stopping export and supplying internal Romanian contracts came out, so there seems some disconnect in what you cited and the reality of the pricing through almost all of 2015, at least where the WASR was concerned.   - OS
  14.   There ARE no WASR imports right now. That's the real prob. Century has had the exclusive rights for years, but they have only jumped up after Cugir announced they had to quit for a while back in September. Simple supply and demand at this point I'd think.   - OS
  15. Also, the last few years of the current standard WASR 10 apparently simply have the year number as the last two digits after the dash. Mine are 12 and 13 for example, or both 13, can't remember and I'm not at home to check. If Cujir actually starts exporting them again in spring/summer like they have stated, price should get back down around the 5 bill mark maybe. - OS
  16. Between Trump and refusing to even vote on this justice, the GOP may well be cutting its throat a bit more. Obstructionist stuff like that has at least partially lead to Trump, backlash to which might also lose the Senate for the GOP.   So, once Hillary gets the White House and especially if GOP loses the Senate,  Garland is gonna seem like a John Bircher compared to who she'll get in for her picks over the course of her reign.   - OS
  17.   Oh yeah. And in very first episode too, duh.   - OS
  18. Let's see. From the gitgo season, we only have Rick, Carl, Daryl, Glenn, and Carol left, right?   And I'm betting no Glenn after season finale.   - OS
  19.   Currently, only the Marlin 3336 C and SS come with the nice walnut stocks. The rest have laminated something-wood.   - OS
  20.   Well, any "all purpose" tool is generally not optimum for any single purpose.   If you just leave optimal "long range hunting" (meaning say over 175 yards) out of the equation, you can meet the rest of them pretty well. I know you're "out west", but relatively few deer taken in east and middle TN past 150 yards, and inside that 5.56 and 7.62x39 work pert well, especially in push comes to shove situations where personal defense might be mission number one.   And while a bigger whomp bolt or lever gun might be better for deer, it's a sub par tactical choice for even a small group of two legged critters. :)   - OS
  21.   Yeah, when I hear "truck gun", I think primarily of a SHTF situation. Not many folks' vehicles are used where you can just jump out of the cab and take game whenever you happen to see it in normal "legal" times.   - OS
  22.   Ah, thanks, "employee", that's good.   - OS
  23. Yup, quickly accurate on COM to 150 yards or more with just cheek weld with iron sights, plenty of velocity with 5.56 out of 10.5" barrel or even shorter with softpoints or other expanding bullets, with 20-30 quick chances too. :) Can do it for 'bout same price as a Glock, so if stolen it's not the worst financial blow. Also, can legally carry it outside the vehicle in TN in normal times if necessary, and do it quite gray man if you keep it in something like this: Here's mine, lives in the above racquet case behind the seat in my toy truck: - OS
  24. I figgered that would first be settled by a lawsuit, but one way or the other couldn't see how it could be any other way in the longrun.   Does it specifically only say "faculty" or include "staff" or "employees" also (which is important).   Got a link to the bill on legislature site?   - OS
  25.   Good example, hadn't thought of that. But at least the craze doesn't outlast the shortage very long, unlike .22, going on 3.5 years now.   - OS
