  1.   Well, there is the "common or contract carrier" section of 18 USC 922 regarding interstate transport.   "It shall be unlawful for any person knowingly to deliver or cause to be delivered to any common or contract carrier for transportation or shipment in interstate or foreign commerce, to persons other than licensed importers, licensed manufacturers, licensed dealers, or licensed collectors, any package or other container in which there is any firearm or ammunition without written notice to the carrier that such firearm or ammunition is being transported or shipped; except that any passenger who owns or legally possesses a firearm or ammunition being transported aboard any common or contract carrier for movement with the passenger in interstate or foreign commerce may deliver said firearm or ammunition into the custody of the pilot, captain, conductor or operator of such common or contract carrier for the duration of the trip without violating any of the provisions of this chapter. No common or contract carrier shall require or cause any label, tag, or other written notice to be placed on the outside of any package, luggage, or other container that such package, luggage, or other container contains a firearm."   - OS
  2. Open carry! Be the test case!    - OS
  3.   If you mean it isn't itemized in a will, that is not necessary to inherit a normal GCA firearm, and thus be an exception to the restrictions on interstate transfer. Doesn't have to have been a will at all actually, "intestate succession" is fine.    Dunno if this applies to NFA stuff too, depends on exact meaning of "Firearm is Being Transferred to a Lawful Heir or by Operation of Law" ?   - OS
  4. How can a TN law "shut down Muslim indoctrination In U.S. schools"?       Same. Still sitting in committees:   http://wapp.capitol.tn.gov/apps/BillInfo/Default.aspx?BillNumber=HB1418   - OS
  5.   "Everybody" says that, but all his charges were apparently pled down to a single 'meanor, Got 11/29 and paid over $100K in restitution.   No way the feds would allow a high profile feller like him to so blatantly run around with firearms if he were in unlawful possession.   - OS
  6.   Yup, I'm sure that's right.   I said it at the time, and it still remains so, that out of all the death that's been protrayed on TWD, the depiction of that bat cracking against those skulls has been just absolutely the most chilling of all.   - OS
  7.   I keep forgetting about Blades for some reason...he was sort of main attraction when first heard about the series, as I've liked his work for years.   - OS
  8.   He was in the processes of being kabonged next when whatever it was that happened to stop it (can't remember that part).   - OS
  9. Well, what say you on the new (first real full) season premiere?   I missed about a third of it due to an ill timed phone call I needed to take,  but my initial main impression remains -- I still just don't "like" any of the main characters, 'cept maybe for Strand, so it's hard to "care" about them.   - OS
  10.   Nah, not his style. So far, he's signed all firearm/carry related legislation except one, which he let become law without his sig.   He's said he would sign permitless carry if it got to his desk. But of course he has plenty of influence in the various committees to make sure it doesn't.   - OS
  11. Show pretty much jumped the shark for me with Glenn and the Dumpster. Only way the writers can atone for that cheap shot is to really snuff him now, but would have been better if they'd done it immediately after he was shown to survive it.   - OS
  12.   Mike.357 has a Remington Viper .22 like that, but since both iron sights are on the barrel it shoots fine with them. But put a scope on the built-in Weaver sight base on the receiver, and you can't compensate enough with the scope adjustments to zero it, tried two different sets of rings and two different scopes. Then we noticed you could actually simply see that the sight base and and the barrel directions didn't really jibe.   - OS
  13.   Only unconcealed, as per letter of the law.   "It is a defense to the application of § 39-17-1307 (illegal carrying/possession) if the possession or carrying was:   Of an unloaded rifle, shotgun or handgun not concealed on or about the person and the ammunition for the weapon was not in the immediate vicinity of the person or weapon;"   - OS
  14.   Yeah, didn't expect them to extend a cliffhanger all the way to next season. Cheapest theatrical shot yet,  IMNSHO, even worse than Glenn and the dumpster.   - OS
  15. Plenty of them here and there in just the places they like the best.   There was a real honey hole for them in this one area on Watts Bar Lake, used to help at a Athens school camp there in spring, was a part of the nature tour to stop and show everybody a few.   Haven't seen but two or three in all the years since in any other area though.   - OS
  16.   Well, their shipping is 10.95 for rifles and 18.95 for handguns. Only those Howa and Savage rifles and 3 handguns right now ... guess they'll need to sell a bunch of those to increase stock or whatever.   A Home Shopping Network for guns is kinda cool though.   - OS
  17. Who knows if it will take off or not. Mixture of safety/shooting PSA type stuff interspersed with on line home shopping type gun sales:   Live streaming: https://www.guntv.tv/watch-now   Not many actual broadcast outlets yet, but some (shows Nooga and Nashville stations at WOOT-LD 6.4  and  WRTN-LP 6.5, what do those channel numbers mean exactly?): https://www.guntv.tv/GunTV-Affiliates   Article: http://www.thetruthaboutguns.com/2016/03/robert-farago/guntv-launches-tomorrow-april-1/   - OS
  18.   Right here from ATF itself, over 78,000 of them in one file as of 2015.  The .TXT ain't real handy but the XLS works well in Open Office or of course Excel. (Or state by state separate files).   https://www.atf.gov/firearms/listing-federal-firearms-licensees-ffls-2015   - OS
  19. If it had clarified that one could not be prosecuted if sign were not compliant, maybe barely worth doing. As is, just a total waste of time and effort.   - OS
  20.   And is only an exception to that statute, but not for possession in vehicle on posted or school property, and not an out for violation of employer prohibition. All of that still requires a permit as per 39-17-1313.   - OS
  21.   Minority Report is being phased in -- soon, we'll all be under investigation for future crime.   - OS
  22.   Don't understand. Lexis has had statute correct as per my quote above since late 2014, assuming you mean at:   http://www.lexisnexis.com/hottopics/tncode/   - OS
  23.   You are quoting a long outdated version of 39-17-1307.   As of 2014 legislative session, that entire verbiage was deleted and section (e) reads:   "(e)  (1) It is an exception to the application of subsection (a) that a person is carrying or possessing a firearm or firearm ammunition in a motor vehicle if the person:       (A) Is not prohibited from possessing or receiving a firearm by 18 U.S.C. § 922(g) or purchasing a firearm by § 39-17-1316; and       ( B ) Is in lawful possession of the motor vehicle.    (2) As used in this subsection (e):       (A) "Motor vehicle" has the same meaning as defined in § 55-1-103;       ( B ) "Motor vehicle" does not include any motor vehicle that is:          (i) Owned or leased by a governmental or private entity that has adopted a written policy prohibiting firearms or ammunition not required for employment within such a motor vehicle; and          (ii) Provided by such entity to an employee for use during the course of employment."   - OS
  24.   Don't know how that one escaped from the classifications,  but most firearms disguised as something else require an AOW stamp. Even certain "wallet holsters" do.   - OS
