  1. At the least, it's quite poor form on your part to denigrate LadiesWithGuns' business by association, regardless of the real or supposed nature of the area in which it exists. - OS
  2. Maybe 80% of the world claims to believe in something they've never even seen. Sort of the opposite of this thread's theme. Of course, the small percentage that HAVE claimed to see God are pretty much classed as loons. - OS
  3. Lynn Thompson is a special case ... he's his own parody. Must work, though ... I have a pile of Cold Steel stuff! Got a Counter Tac II around neck right now. - OS
  4. Tip, ignore first name field, same results. - OS
  5. Despite language that could be slightly improved in the first one, Academy's policy stated in the two main sentences seems quite clear to me, and I imagine, to everyone else here. - OS
  6. Correct, though it was called "P-40". You see (an intact) one for resell now and then, saw one here on TGO sometime in last couple years. - OS
  7. Yep. .40 just doesn't fit well in them Kel-Tec PF-9s. - OS
  8. The "WallyWalk" is a standard on every carry site I've ever frequented. - OS
  9. If you count "mileage" I'm like 113. I actually don't have that much communication anymore to really justify the extra charge for texting, or I'd probably do more of it too. Hell, over last 20 years I've done a thousand times more emailing than phoning from landline or cell. I'd have to get a more text friendly device though -- I'm still on an old RAZR. Matter of fact, my original one died not long ago, or rather I finally killed it. Looking at the bewildering array of free ones I could get, seemed to me I might as well go all the way to Iphone or similar if I were really gonna expand my capabilities -- but decided to just stay with a "phone", so bought a RAZR off eBay; actually bought two, so I have backup in case I drop one in the bathtub again. - OS
  10. Are they considered switchblade in TN by case law or AG opinion or something? The "gravity" thing? - OS
  11. Note it specifically for the .40 model only. Did it come out at same time as the 9mm one, or a more recent edition? - OS
  12. Well, thankfully the thread didn't stay on topic after being dug up. - OS
  13. Old fogey here, I only use my cell phone as a phone, very little text Started with Cingular (now ATT of course) 'cause they had best coverage in the county I did FedEx Ground in. It's been fine all these years, I seem to get reception pretty much anywhere anybody else does I've ever been with. 450 min w/ rollover, I keep about a 3,000/month minute anytime minutes balance. Weekends, evenings, ATT to ATT all free minutes. No free text or data though. Bill is around $47/month, taxes and all. Works fine for this old coot, dropped land lines years ago. - OS
  14. I've read several articles that claim automotive engineering is already getting 95% or better of the total potential combustion of gasoline and diesel. Seems that any significant advances in efficiency will have to be mechanical. Perhaps total plastic construction, including all engine components, but reducing weight even to just slightly over the that of the cargo itself is unlikely to produce any quantum leap in efficiency. Perhaps an anti-gravity component. Then you'd just need a decent size fan to get up to speed. Maybe no propulsion at all to go downwind. - OS
  15. That was mentioned in previous alcohol serving establishment statute, which was zapped. Only mention now of carry allowed in a biz is my reference in previous post. - OS
  16. Oopsie. Homophone hypocrisy. - OS
  17. Great, then I'll probably avoid the DMV, too. I understand it's also posted. - OS
  18. Statute says ok to carry at "a person's place of business ... or premises", no permit required. It is not further defined. A gray area, like much of TN weapons law. - OS
  19. All well and good, though this article, like many others, don't address the what seems to be the economic reality that it takes more energy to produce refined hydrogen than the hydrogen itself can release in a fuel cell. As I understand it, even the experimental bus systems that are being run on hydrogen production are successful in the cleaner environmental sense only, not in a total net energy savings, since the hydrogen production takes more energy in electricity and/or heat than it releases in the vehicles. It's nice that you could run a vehicle with no bad emissions, but if it cost the equivalent of $20 per gallon in gasoline, not sure this is a solution for the masses. Or indeed, not for mass transit either, since it still take hydrocarbon fuel/coal/nuke to make the hydrogen in the first place, and at a net loss of total energy used to do it. - OS
  20. Does the letter say it serves as receipt "until new permit arrives" or is it a set time limit mentioned? Seems I've read it used to say "60 days" or something? - OS
  21. Only 19 states have actual reciprocity with TN. Yep, totally agree. ANY country wide federal gun law sets just another dangerous precedent. The only new bill the feds should enact is to REPEAL existing gun laws. - OS
  22. The Donald is now showing 10% lead over nearest of the best known GOP possibles, on some poll FOX is discussing right now. - OS
  23. Well, to be fair, there are 3 "shall issue" states that don't recognize ours, and 8 "may issue" states that don't. - OS
  24. Grand Wizard of KKK? President of Black Panthers? - OS
