  1. Even though it's thin, those are all still made of glass, yes? Okay if you have your own junkyard range, I guess. - OS

Not exactly, point is that with fast draw, finger on button follows gun up and falls on trigger just as gun clears holster. Many ADs, several of the big schools won't allow them. The other issue is the opposite one: crud has also been known to lock the catch where gun can not be released. Here's an overview: - OS

Crossbreed is saying 6-8 weeks, unless you know local place. For custom leather, TT Gunleather (my avatar). Since he takes six months, check out the Stronghold IWBs by Occidental Leather ones on his site. His design, available right away, and all reports say just like his quality wise. 7-14 days. TT GunLeather High Quality Leather Gun Holsters Bout twice the Crossbreed price, but worth it. - OS
  8. See my above post. The Party decides all. The Dems could have kicked Slick Willy out by threatening to vote yea on the impeachment, or failing that, actually voting yea when it went the distance. They didn't. The main thing with Weiner was the ICK factor. The whole thing is just disgusting, worse than actually doing the nasty and getting caught (although that cigar thang was approaching big time ICK). Even worse than Teddy's homicide, ICK-wise. He couldn't survive the PR of gag-me-with-a-backhoe behavior, especially when he was already such a caustic and irritating personalty. - OS
  9. In practical sense, the Democrat Party is as much his boss as his constituency -- the party decided the PR hit was too great to keep him, so they fired him. - OS
  10. Well, ya know the Moose lodge off Callahan has a range. - OS
  11. Hmmm, could that explain the thumb growing out of my kneecap? - OS
  12. Ah, she's an international star, but it's difficult to see how, given these samples: Wing (singer) - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia (I had no clue, either). - OS
  13. This came up some time ago, and seems it was shown where it was city ordinance, not county. I remember looking it up on a map, and CCA is in an odd little cul de sac of county property surrounded by city. - OS
  14. Beatles' I Want to Hold Your Hand contains the single worst missed note in the history of recorded music. http://www.wingmusic.co.nz/player/cd8.html - OS
  15. Good ones are sized and molded/boned for specific gun model. Some will fit more than one gun, especially if it is open muzzle design and only barrel length is difference. - OS
  16. Yes, of course. - OS
  17. I knew my maternal great grandparents, lived over in Harriman; in his 90's, he'd walk down to the river and catch big buffalo, I've been along a couple times as a young'un...she'd steak them out in sections, fry like any other fish. It made for a looong supper, picking around all them little bones. - OS
  18. Fortunately, Will never had a chance to meet all of the folks here -- otherwise he would have had to modify his most famous line. :-\ - OS

  21. Not sure I've ever seen a freshwater clam, or if I did guess I didn't know what I was looking at ... or do you mean mussels? - OS
  22. The only fish advisory from TWRA for Melton Hill is catfish. I don't know about any other signs around the lake. My sojourn there was back around '75, didn't have a boat, never saw any signs. Although I did poach a couple of geese that were already cooked. Oops, I hope the statute of limitations has run out on that. - OS
  23. Well, intent to go armed doesn't have anything to do with the length of the blade as far as the schools statute is concerned; that's why it's not mentioned. It's not illegal to carry a 4" or less blade with intent to go armed, except on school property. Certainly, carrying a blade of any length for self defense IS intent to go armed in TN. Of course, in reality, I'm sure you're right, and I've opined same several times -- you'd have to be causing some type of additional ruckus to get charged with that on a college campus. Unlike a gun, where if simply seen at all, that's likely all it would take to get popped. Really needs to be a distinction in the statutes for college vs grammar and/or high schools. And of course, HCP holders should be able to carry heaters on any campus in the state that accepts state funding. - OS
  24. I disremember, FG. Surely they've got their act together by now? Then again, always logical to assume any gummit agency is cockeyed at best, I guess. - OS
  25. Actually, and seriously, the idea of "muddy" tasting carp isn't founded in reality. Most impurities that you can taste settle in a fish's belly area, so as long as you cut this out (which you do on any fish if you want a boneless fillet), doesn't really matter what kind of water it comes out of. It's true that Melton Hill, wherefore I consumed the majority of my lifetime carp intake, is as much like a river as lake and stays cold even in summer (except right around the steam plant), but I've eaten carp from muddy ole Watts Bar (from the Hog Pen area, incidentally, which is named for it's muddy bottom), and they were fine too. There are many fish that live and feed mostly on the bottom. Indeed, most fish do. Drum spend as much time on the bottom rooting around as carp, and they are not known for the "muddy" myth. Catfish, even "mud cats" and flatheads taste fine sans belly meat also. And of course, drum are not a bony fish like carp and buffalo either. If I could have caught drum any time I wanted during that camping stint, they would have been my preferred rough fish cuisine by far. - OS
