Prob with carbs is the insulin rush you get after consuming -- whether you perceive it or not, the brain likes it, it's like when endorphins kick in. Then when that stabilizes to meet the immediate glucose demand, you want more, ie "hungry" again. Add to the fact that mostly empty carbs like bread, rice, pasta, and taters provide, if not utilized immediately, just are "stored", ie fat. Not to mention that the ole Type 2 is sneaking up on you, due to insulin resistance and simply wearing out that pancreas to continually overproduce it. All I have to do is give up the big 4 and of course watch the sweets (including fruit), and the weight will come off, even over time at around 3,000 calories a day of other stuff. Simply put, all calories are not created equal. And of course high protein/fat/cholesterol diet has been wrongfully vilified for many decades, like regarding cholesterol levels, kidney damage, whatever. Most people do great on it, as long as the carbs aren't there in the way of being used first. Surely about half or more of my daily calories come from meat, I'm quite the carnivore. All kinds of meat, and a lot of it fatty, and I eat the fat. Lots of butter (no margarine), sour cream, mayo, etc. At the constant nagging of my heart doc I see twice a year (minor mitral valve prolapse) I finally got a new lipid panel not long ago. All the indicators were solidly in range, with exception of LDL which was in the "near/above optimal" range but not even in the "borderline high" range. And the guy still suggested I might want to take a low dose of a statin, a suggestion I scoffed at. And this with being 25-30 lbs overweight right now -- and that's due to slipping back into too much CarbLand over the last few years, so yeah, without being a total carb Nazi and doing strict "induction" level on them, I've recently gone back into eschewing the Big 4 again, started about 2 weeks ago, down a few pounds already without changing anything else, or watching total calories or whatever. Another benefit of low carbing is that many people, myself included, have found that any allergy we have is much lessened and possibly even totally eliminated by doing it. The as yet unproven theory behind that actual widespread reported result is pretty interesting, but another story. - OS

Have they quit making .22WMR? UPDATE: NOW IN THE WILD
Oh Shoot replied to seez52's topic in Ammunition and Reloading
Even if you are willing to pay a dime a round for .22LR, 3.5x that for .22mag is still out of bounds, compared to any proportional metric in the past. Historically was no more than about twice as much or so as quality .22lr rounds like Mini Mag. - OS -
Have they quit making .22WMR? UPDATE: NOW IN THE WILD
Oh Shoot replied to seez52's topic in Ammunition and Reloading
Though I only have one firearm that shoots .22mag, and it's a Single Six that also does .22LR, I would simply retire any .22mag only gun for now rather than pay that. I mean, I just bought a bunch of 9mm at half that per round, delivered. And even pedestrian .223 and 7.6x39 is significantly cheaper than that, with of course a lot more bang. - OS -
I'm sure he owes Mark O'Mara et al more than that, maybe they'll dun him for it. - OS

Nifty, thanks, just did one to check it out. - OS

Can get URL link to the individual post, sure, but meant used to be able to say "see post 24" or whatever. Again, a very minor nit. - OS

Unclear to moi. So what gets you logged in each time?

I've mentioned that also, it's just gone, even if editing existing one. I guess the live WYSIWYG nature of the thing is considered rock solid enough not to include it now. Another, admittedly quite minor, thing is that posts are no longer numbered in a thread. Was handy way to mention a particular response during a discussion without having to quote it. - OS

Reset to a new one or just reenter existing one? Puter or phone?

Have they quit making .22WMR? UPDATE: NOW IN THE WILD

.35/round not even counting shipping -- don't think I'll jump on that thanks. - OS -
Well, one difference is that the TGO wood background extends all the way down on both sides of the fixed max 1180 pixel or so main area of the forum, whereas before it was only toward the top and faded to just black. But I agree with David that the overall brightness should be the same. But I'm only using puters, maybe there's a diff on the mobile version I'm not perceiving -- Enfield's screen shot just shows all white background, with no "logo border" like with puter. Here's this post as I see it:

WayBack Machine, from couple months ago, puter with Windows 7

And it's been that way like forever. - OS

Only 5MB total though. About 25 images same file size as the one above. - OS

What is Create: Status? Brings up the standard posting interface with "submit status" button. Submit what status? To whom? - OS

Here's a GOOD thing: Pasting (with or without formatting) no longer changes (b) into that emoticon face or (c) into the copyright symbol due to the whatchamacalit code default from previous version. Always a hassle when doing laws from TCA or whatever. One BAD thing though: Unless I'm missing it, no way to preview the post before sending? - OS

I don't remember the price when my Mom had her little buddy done a number of years ago, but there were two pricing levels, one where you were guaranteed to get only your own pet's ashes, and one where you'd get "mostly" your own pet's ashes. - OS

TaDa, another patch complete.

But FYI, with no option to delete them. - OS

It uploaded your image to your upload folder on TGO, URL of image is: www.tngunowners.com/forums/uploads/monthly_2016_05/57362dffb3b8e_Christmasknives17.thumb.jpg.27ee6aa5c9380ad1082a4f559d6a7338.jpg

So, images are going to be allowed to be stored on TGO site after all? - OS

One clue might be if one has ever changed display name? I was originally signed up as "OhShoot" but changed to the two word "Oh Shoot" some years back, but with previous software iterations, still had to use the original "OhShoot" as the login name, but new software wants the actual screen name currently shown, ie "Oh Shoot" with the space (caps still don't seem to matter). - OS

Yeah I had to reset it too, to same thing it already was. - OS
