  1. Awesome. Well, I certainly don't know, and I'm not a Glockster. But I believe I might call them and see if they'll send a standard replacement spring just to see if it's as per Gtodalep's post before I started looking for a stiffer one? Dunno if I'd mention +p+, though, they'll probably just say don't use it. - OS
  2. Clean it with steel wool or Brillo or something, then do the mustard, ballpark to Poupon, they all work, truly amazing. - OS
  3. How do I not know this movie? What IS is? - OS
  4. Well, yeah, in theory, if that is indeed the prob, but you might run into similar prob shooting lowest power target rounds with a stronger spring, too, dunno. - OS
  5. Perhaps some Old Hickories? None are expensive, still made in US by Ontario. You can put a forced patina on them with mustard so they don't rust. I have Cold Steel Long Hunter, Western Hunter, and Roach Belly in the ole kitchen rotation, but they are all stainless Krupp. I do have one big unusual Mora high carbon in there also; it rusted before I could even dry it, but three sessions with mustard on it for an hour or two each time cured that. - OS
  6. Actually, that ISN'T the reason its in there, IMNSHO, and in the opinion of quite a few constitutional scholars. The idea of protecting individual gun ownership for self defense and hunting just didn't occur to them -- anymore than to list rights for owning a knife, a fishing rod, or shovel, or axe, or hoe. The founders weren't perfect -- they couldn't dream of a future where individuals might be denied the use of any such implement (they also didn't conceive of the career politician, unfortunately). As things have turned out, it's good that the Second is in there but its intention is to allow men to band together, with their individually owned firearms, for the common defense, or to overthrow a government become tyranny. Jefferson's and others' writings of the era make this pretty plain. - OS
  7. Here are your signs, Mikey. - OS
  8. Lighter spring in that model, or just shorter lighter slide? Meaning, +p+ could be over-driving slide, slide moving too fast for round to eject? - OS
  9. I'm drawn to the look of it, one I held in store felt great in hand. Also, like the XD subbie, the 13+1 capacity in 9mm model seems like magic trick. - OS
  10. Wondering if there were any plans to bring back other user info, like HCP/military/LEO notations, since the iTrader field is now active? Often found those quite pertinent in some threads. - OS
  11. We've been through this before. - OS
  12. EDIT: never mind, refreshing the link brings up an updated story. - OS
  13. What's your point? To emphasize MY point that you should be very careful with it, which your first post didn't even mention? Like, it eats o-rings and plastic bottles but a person is impervious to it? How many PPM of chlorine gas does this formula create? - OS
  14. Umm, this makes chlorine gas, which can also kill YOU -- just thought I'd mention. - OS
  15. Wow, who carries 1300 clams around at Wally's? - OS edit: echo in here
  16. Collapse of USSR is the last big example of a super power going bust. Bad as it was, it pales in comparison to what would happen here, due to the ingrained socialist infrastructure that was in place, however poor it may have been. For a most interesting 20 page or so read, try Post-Soviet Lessons for a Post-American Century by Dmitry Orlov He has expanded on this to a full size book, also, keep meaning to find it. - OS
  17. On a nationwide scale, the USA's unprecedented living standard by an unprecedented population supported by an unprecedented JIT supply may well render historical examples non-predictive of outcome. - OS
  18. I guess you know there are 10 or so new reports every month in American Rifleman that you can probably find news links to, in case you don't already check those. - OS
  19. Your Brown Bear is lacquer coated, that's why it's "brown". Looks like Russian .223 Wolf is probably made by Barnaul these days, too. - OS
  20. Rare form tonight, LP, I'm rollin' in the aisles here! - OS
  21. Solyndra, for one, which is looking like only the tip of very nasty iceberg. Maybe all the selective prosecution and selective suing of states. Maybe lots of other stuff that they're keeping close to the vest in case, too, who knows. I don't think Nixon's goons were nearly so corrupt -- that all came up over much less abuse of power than O's admin has shown, really just stupid thug stuff that wouldn't really have hurt the country anything like what we're seeing. - OS
  22. Unless you can find a really cheap gunsmith (does one exist?) and depending on how much you want to nice it up, just drop in Volquarten stuff. Target hammer is $35 or less (makes it nicer by half), extended kit for about $95 (nicer by maybe 3/4), whole new replacement trigger assembly under $200 ('bout best it can be) -- easy peasy. Couple of other parties make these too, some swear Timney stuff is even better, dunno. That's probably what the gunsmith will do. Although you might find one who will hand stone and whatnot for less, tricky though. Maybe Dolomite_supafly will chime in here, he's done some nice ones, can't remember if he did them without additional parts or not. Oh, stick in a Volquartsen extractor too, 10 clams or less. Cures and/or prevents a multitude of ills, especially as gun gets shot more and more. - OS
  23. I'm beginning to wonder if: - Obama wins reelection - GOP gets majority in House and Senate that they may already have the goods on him to impeach and would jump on it then. And might well have already happened but for the Dem majority in the Senate. - OS
  24. No, once you get HCP you lose all your other rights. (That's a joke, son...answer to your question is "of course".) - OS
  25. Read again. "restricted ammo" simply defines it. It's only illegal to use it in a crime (like a criminal would be worried about that). Most Russian ammo period has partial or full steel core. - OS
