Wow, he didn't last any time at all out there, I'm surprised really. - OS

It has to be back in there to legally shoot migratory home invaders. - OS
-
What would the rarest Mosin in the best shape original condition it could possibly be in be worth, anyway? - OS
-
Well, it will tend to do that for a minute or two to anyone till your irises stop down from f/5.6 to f/11. - OS

FF 8.0 here, haven't had the update pushed to me yet for some reason, but yeah, can flip back and forth fine. With IE also, though I don't use it much. So thanks very much beau coup oodles for the option, coach! - OS

Me? I observe I had to let my belt out a notch, and reflect that even one comfortable with being alone most of the time is yet quite thankful for good company on Thanksgiving. - OS
-
I was particularly grateful this Thanksgiving, was gonna pass the day alone, but was invited over to another TGOers home for traditional meal with all the fixins. And got to shoot some there too, which made it even more an all American tradition! - OS

Your point taken also. On the third hand (you do have one, right? ) granting the presumption of good shoot for anyone trespassing on your land at all seems a little beyond the pale, too. See a kid with his dog wandering through and shoot him? Neighbor picking up a stray frisbee? Surely you don't propose going that far? The blanket presumption of "reasonable fear for you life" makes sense inside your abode, not so much outside of it, seems to me. - OS

Well, Paul won't drop out until after a few primaries anyway, or until money runs out, which it will after a few primaries if he doesn't win or come in second. My point is - in a close general election (think back to Bush/Gore) one state can swing it. Paul running as Libertarian could drain off enough the GOP vote in just one state and swing whole election to O. This ain't Bob Barr, y'know. But think Ross Perot, many analyses agree that he elected Slick Willy the first time around. No, there's no way to figure the odds, and race may be a Red runaway in which case it won't matter. But it might be really really tight, too. Especially since the GOP is gonna throw a nominee out there that doesn't appeal to over over 50% of even traditional Republican voters. Call it religious racism if you like, but there are a pile of Protestants (especially fundamentalists) in this country who ain't gonna vote for a Morman or a twice divorced converted Catholic. Question is whether they'll vote for a black man the second time around, whether they did the first time or not. Remember that at least a third of the voters in this country don't vote on basis of issues/policy, only personal like/dislike. That's why we shouldn't even be voting for the American Idol president. At least another third only votes for "what's in it for me", and that doesn't include freedom or individual responsibility either, which means the perceived gimmie gimmie Democrat. - OS

It's been there since at least Feb. Little different crop to image, though. But yeah, to echo Murgatroy[d] my most appreciative kudos are for the site responsiveness since the last server change ... has made a hugely pleasurable difference. - OS

I just popped by a Wally on way home, needed one little item, pretty wild there at 8pm. Folks lining up inside the store for the various specials that hit at midnight. Went by sporting goods, cause I can't go in one without doing that , and there was a line there, asked what goes on sale at the gun counter, they had me look around the corner, was seeing the tail end of line for the electronics section which was waaaaay down the pike from there. Wow... - OS

Well, no, it isn't. "Castle" obviously refers to your abode, otherwise it would be called the "Everywhere Doctrine", eh? The "vehicle" designation is a surprising addition to it actually, since you can't even legally carry armed in your vehicle without a permit. - OS

That's for a "new" party registration. Libertarian party already has standing access in most states -- dunno what they have to do or when to get access in the states they don't have standing access in already, but indeed they have gotten 50 state access several times. If Paul went with them, he doesn't have to jump until May when they hold their convention, seems. - OS

Sure appreciate your ongoing efforts, David, but yeah, the white on black is just too contrasty for me. Text tends to "bloom" after a short while. - OS
-
What sticks in your craw regarding that statute? - OS
-
Traditionally, that's true. Tradition could be broken, though, if Paul goes third party. Paul could conceivably give O the win in several states if he does. - OS

Very touching poem and sentiment. I can certainly relate. I'm only child, my granddad brought me Skip for my 3rd birthday, barely weaned mixed shorthaired terrier mutt -- granddad and I buried him not long after my 16th birthday. You can imagine, growing up with no sibs, only Skip. That was life's first big heartbreak. - OS

With the price of food always rising, looking into this...
Oh Shoot replied to Wyldk2's topic in Survival and Preparedness
Sounds like this may be a good temporary SHTF option, but storing for sustained nourishment not so much. Or at least, not so much for the price. A 5'10" 170lb man doing only light exercise daily would need about EIGHT daily servings of that just to maintain body weight. - OS -
Damn, of course, dunno why I was thinking it had to be Rep. Mine's Crazy Stacey, one of our main gun guys there. I'll consider it for sure. - OS

A question has been raised.............

My XD barrels and slides are serialized, too. More importantly, it is a receiver (and serialized), which BATF says must be sold as firearm. - OS -
I may try it through my rep as I've now spent enough time on the issue that I want to know. Kinda hate to do it through my rep though, he's one of the staunchest anti-gun ones of all, Joe Armstrong. Would wonder if he might try to (further) poison the AG's mind, if indeed he even acts on it. - OS

I see you have to bump it up the bureaucratic food chain to get one: "Who may request an opinion from the Attorney General? The Attorney General is required to provide written legal opinions to "the governor, secretary of state, state treasurer, comptroller of the treasury, members of the general assembly and other state officials...in the discharge of their official duties." Tenn. Code Ann. § 8-6-109 ( (6). The Attorney General cannot issue opinions to county or local government officials or to private citizens." - OS

In all my many years of using every kind of stink bait for catfish, I caught the largest ones on live minnows while fishing for something else, go figger. - OS
