Well, my point is that we can't find any case yet of 1351 conviction for instate resident with TN HCP, so we also don't know if that violation has cost the person his HCP also. Kwik's was nuked under different provision in 1352. - OS

You know safety won't activate unless it's cocked, right? - OS

Well, I see you never got a response, and mine won't be much help either I'm afraid. Reason is, COE and TVA property is really gray, as it's not specifically mentioned one way or the other, but doesn't exactly fit in other classifications of places legal to carry or legal to post not to, like private businesses. I think someone mentioned that there was something afoot to tweak TCA to include COE lands in verbiage about WMAs where it is legal to carry now, but never heard any more about it. You never really hear any press about folks being arrested on either type property for handgun carry, so I'd posit it's not likely they conduct searches or anything. Just a comment, not advice. - OS

Kwik and what other example? Kwik's was not pulled for having "violated any other provision of §§ 39-17-1351 -- 39-17-1360" - OS

Talk about a dangerous job for a repo man, wow. - OS

Actually, very few firearms show +p on them for caliber designation. Unless you mean you have some that speak. I have maybe 15 that are +p rated for .38 or 9mm and exactly none show +p on the firearm, and most don't in the manual either. - OS

Who is your favorite knife manufacturer?
Oh Shoot replied to mav's topic in Knives, Lights, EDC Gear
Too many good production houses to pick one; not to mention all the fabulous individual custom makers. Traditionally, I have always leaned toward Buck, but I have bought 5, count em FIVE, bummers in a row, and these were all US made, too. Have three of them back to Buck for service, including one for the second time. Sad. - OS -
Taking said Mr. Claus up to Norris tomorrow to do some Noel plinking. Well, today, actually. - OS

Yay!!!...No more security at the Expo Center Shows

They use real Knoxville cops at Chilhowee, not the security service lookalikes. Dunno what troubles you had, but they're KPD, just like at Expo today. - OS -
Door to Door Preparedness Checks in Davidson County?
Oh Shoot replied to Kenstaroni's topic in General Chat
Guess I better add a No Bureaucratic Thumpers logo on my door soon. - OS -
Constantine and the existing Catholic synod firmed up the dates for Christmas and Easter to coincide with the longer running and co-existing "pagan" religious festivals, which were already celebrated for many hundreds of years at winter solstice and spring equinox. Assuaged both factions and caused less disruption to business, since everybody took the same time off. The pagans had more fun, though. - OS

Well, I deserved it, I reckon. At least one of the cops there was having a fine time; the black cop that was watching the back door; went by him twice and he was eating something different both times. Razzed him about that, and then told him it really was nice to see the real boys in blue back there compared to the former Gestapo, he let on that he knew about the former probs, and he was glad to be there too -- guess they're getting paid from promoter, or OT or however it works. - OS -
I thought of Santa as a buddy of Jesus, a divine entity of some sort that came around to help celebrate Christ's birthday. Santa concept is much like that of Yahweh : is eternal, can be everywhere anytime, can perform magic by getting in your house whether you had a chimney or not, gets mad when you're bad, rewards you for being good and believing in him, etc. You did have to take the effort to write the old fart, though, couldn't just pray. The Easter Bunny was just confusing, no super powers or anything, and just the ho-hum egg thing. Continually strange to me though, how everyone drops Santa but most continue to avow various other supernatural entities. - OS

Yeah. Oddly, it's the one time that a non-permit holder could have a loaded gun on him legally in TN, meaning with ammo in direct proximity to gun. Though there's actually no exception for this in TCA. And I guess you'd be technically guilty of unlawful carry anyway, and certainly so BEFORE you entered the terminal, eh? - OS

"Brangelina", that's cute -- I depend on you to report the TMZ stuff. I'd say he certainly believes in the 1% bucks. - OS

Ah, thanks. Well, looks like we finally have our first confirmed cases of someone being charged with that. Although in an odd situation, not just in a normal business establishment. In the case of Mr. Mallick, though, we won't see the possible interaction of 1352, which also states that a violation of 1359 will cause suspension or termination of HCP, since he's not a TN resident. This little quirk is the other shoe we've been wanting to see if does indeed automatically fall with a 1359 conviction. - OS

Being a witness to that I must say, and those who know me will certainly agree, I'm seldom at a loss for words -- but I was today. But thinking that the other principal involved might should tell it in his way, or tell Mike to. - OS -
That's the format of the book. Just don't see why they'd go with a superstar for that. You don't even notice the narrator/historian in the book, he only reports, mostly in direct long quotes of the interviewees, which I assume will be action segments rather than just talk in the movie. - OS

http://www.tngunowners.com/forums/handgun-carry-self-defense/66239-heres-your-sign-case.html So Patrick, can you confirm that the B 'meanor charges in thread listed above are indeed for 1359? Is that what article refers to "as possessing a weapon in a prohibited place"? - OS

Wouldn't take that bet myself, though looking like it may close rather than a mandate either side. I don't think Newt or Mitt either one, or as running mates, can get enough independent votes to swing it, and think that just about as many folks who voted Rep last time will defect as will Dems disgusted with O. Plus strong possibility that a much higher percentage of the far right may just write in vote in protest, or bag election day completely. I also don't think new young voters are gonna flock to the phoney consummate Yankee pol with the phoney Beavis and Butthead chuckle or the icy egocentric logic of he chubby old Georgia fart. And there's a ton of protestants that won't vote for a Morman or a twice divorced converted Catholic. I do believe that if O can dump Joe and pick up Hildebeeste, he could win going away on strength of black, hispanic, and women's vote while all the other voter bases basically even out. - OS

I think I said (or strongly hinted) in that thread that if they were really charging HCPers with 1307 for merely carrying past sign in non-security part of the airport, a first year law student at the legal clinic surely could get that thrown out and get it changed to 1359 at the worst. 1307 Class A is much worse, what with fine, possible jail time, and loss of HCP for duration of sentence. Of course, 1359 (perhaps) with the still as far as we know untested gotcha provision in 1352 could also jerk your permit, temporarily or permanently, who knows, more gray. - OS
-
Would seem that if the cites shown were for 1307, though, it would be for Class A misdemeanor -- since it was in public and all. Indeed, under 1307 the only charge for Class B is being caught two or more times not "in public". Course we have to assume they're on the ball regarding that and all, never a safe bet IMHO. - OS

Dunno how there can be a star unless they're totally revamping the format. WWZ was series of vignettes from all over the world, I don't think the same character even surfaced in more than one. Oh wait, hmmm, maybe he's the first person persona who's going around compiling all the stories, but that character (the 1st person writer) didn't do anything but listen and record, best I remember. - OS
