Obama's unconstitutional power grab
Oh Shoot replied to daddyo's topic in 2A Legislation and Politics
Well, if Senate goes Republican, perhaps they can impeach him. Who knows, maybe they already would have if the Senate were GOP controlled. - OS -
Damn zeros....corrected. - OS

Seriously. She only got about $100,000 $100,000,000 from Tiger. Blowing over a tenth of it in a snit like that makes you wonder if she's not about as childish as him. - OS

Turn In Your Neighbor for Illegal Gun
Oh Shoot replied to Oh Shoot's topic in 2A Legislation and Politics
Obama ain't a Muslim or a Christian. All them pols have to profess Christianity to get elected and they know it. Probably not one in 10 is a "true believer". Which is fine with me, just a shame an admitted Deist/agnostic/atheist hasn't got a chance of election, just one more level of hypocrisy imposed on an already highly hypocritical undertaking. But back to gun grabs, Romney may pick Christie for veep running mate. And Chris Christie ain't NO friend of the gun owner. Has said publicly more than once that he feels New Jersey's gun laws are "about right". Heard him say that on Hannity's radio show and Sean didn't even murmur a challenge. And it WILL be Romney, folks, and if you think he's some sort of 2A champion, just remember: - OS -

Turn In Your Neighbor for Illegal Gun
Oh Shoot replied to Oh Shoot's topic in 2A Legislation and Politics
Kennedy has already postponed his retirement till after the coming election, just hoping GOP wins. I don't know if he will or can wait another four years. Just that one swings court the other way. Ginsberg is almost 80 and is so far surviving two kinds of cancer. Though liberal, she's probably conservative compared to O's replacement choice. 5 justices are in their 70s, I believe 4 will be in their 80s before end of O's second term. Anyway you look at it, it would be a miracle if the court is not at least 5-4 liberal by 2016, and could be 6-3 or worse. - OS -
Turn In Your Neighbor for Illegal Gun

It will be a lot tougher when O puts 2-4 MORE liberal activist judges on Supreme Court. - OS -
You've been dozing, he's done plenty, too many to list. But his scariest legacy may be putting two raving liberal dames on the Supreme Court. Four more years, and if the Senate stays Dem, he'll get to load it with as many as four more -- long standing legal precedents will be overturned over time. Including almost certainly what 2A progress we've made. - OS

Local TN Reps Against Voter ID Law
Oh Shoot replied to mcurrier's topic in 2A Legislation and Politics
We were real active here in last mayoral election, a whopping 18% of registered showed. 17% for the primary. Hell, only about 70% of registered voters turn out for presidential elections nationwide, but the real kicker is that only about 55% of all eligible voters vote anymore for president. - OS -
In the spirit of Big Brother and 2A: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=pFG2H3TaK5s Dunno how recently this was made, but Booker is current mayor of Newark, in his first term 2010-14. Remember this kind of stuff when you hear Chris Christie touted for prez. He may even be Romney's veep pick this time around. Christie has said several time that he thinks NJ's gun laws are "about right". Right. - OS

Just finished "The Big Sky", A.B. Guthrie, from 1947 -- one of the definitive works about the mountain men of the 1830s. Remarkable. - OS

And Romney is touting it big time. They were both on Hannity tonight. (that's "woes", btw, although "whoas" is sort of appropriate also - it "whoed" your spousal unit) - OS

Well, Mitt is making much of McCain's endorsement today. Wow, publicly glowing to be endorsed by one of the worst losers in GOP history. Really sounding like we might as well steel ourselves for Hope and Change II. - OS

Well, as a non-student adult. And implies that it must be unloaded. But mainly, the TN statute does not prevent you from being fired for exercising that "right" if you work there, which is the main import of changing the law in the first place, to allow employees to possess in cars according to the manner in which it is otherwise legal anywhere else. - OS

Well, knew I had seen it on NASDAQ. Maybe Chinese interests own controlling stock or something, for all I know. Quick report though is that 873 different institutional entities own 340,521 shares, which is 78% of all shares. Sounds pretty much like most big companies, most stock owned by mutual funds groups and other investment firms. - OS

But Costco's Chinese stuff is better than Wally's Chinese stuff. And they don't sell guns or ammo, so they have that going for them too. - OS

Disney hasn't really lost. They claim special exemption under an explosives clause. Fired employee filed suit, he dropped it, so far Disney has still been able to enforce it. There are a number of other exemptions to the FL parking lot law, too, where workers cannot have firearms in their vehicles. Most glaringly, school property. So I wouldn't think this should be the model touted for TN. "Exceptions listed in F.S. 790.251(7) include school property, correctional institutions, property where a nuclear-powered electricity generation facility is located, property upon which substantial activities involving national defense, aerospace, or homeland security are conducted, property upon which the primary business conducted is the manufacture, use, storage, or transportation of combustible or explosive materials, a motor vehicle owned/leased/rented by your employer, and any other property upon which possession of a firearm is prohibited pursuant to any federal law, contract with a federal government entity, or general law of Florida." - OS
